I actually like the site. And most of my friends list is my family and close friends. FB makes it easier to keep in touch around busy schedules, share pictures and videos and all that jazz.

Plus, I like the integration where I can log into a large number of sites with my FB.

Myspace is a retarded, evil site.

The biggest complaint I've heard about FB is their privacy settings and issues there.

News Flash: If you don't want information to be public don't post it on the internet.

Eventually. When everyone else gets sick of it.
It's flawed and all, what with its nearly non-existent privacy controls, but hey, come up with a better one. Then we'll talk.

Terrible poll. I'd like to say "No, why would I?".

It's a useful tool. I can live without it and I certainly wouldn't feel the need to immediately switch to a new social networking site if I couldn't use Facebook anymore.
However, it helps me keep tabs on old friends I don't get to see all the time. You might say if I can't be bothered to visit them or call them occasionally is it worth keeping contact with them? I say, yes, absolutely.
^^This.

For me, I get to keep in touch with my best friend (who getting a hold of via phone is nearly impossible due to his busy work schedule with the Air Force).

We can share our vacation photos with the entire family all at once.

I can keep in touch with friends from school and quickly and easily see what they are all up to.

Overall, I have no complaints with the site.

Argh! Again with the 'Not Enough Poll Options'!!!

Facebook is actually a valuable tool to me: my family is spread all over the world, and it provides us with a convenient respository for sharing daily goings-on, photos, and the like. However, if I felt that either:
a) Facebook was demanding too much of my personal information and subsequently exposing that information to external sources (like there have been rumors of happening lately), then I would quit, or
b) Facebook started charging a monthly fee for using it (it's handy but not irreplacable),

I would be out the door in a flash.

I still use it religiously to keep track of my friends and family daily. It's convenient since I live far from everyone after moving around the world for different jobs. I can also call my relatives easily enough on the phone, but it's just easier to sign on and check their statuses to see what's new. I agree it's quite overrated, but it's still important to a lot of people like me for keeping in touch with old friends.

I don't think i'd quit it because I use it to contact people from time to time but it's not like i need it or my life depends on it =/
Yeah, that should be an option. It is the only way some people can get ahold of me. I don't use it at all other than that. And it's the only way to know what's going on in my daughter's life because whenever I call her, her responses are limited to one-word answers. She does write on her wall frequently tho

I did, last Monday as it was quit facebook day, although I think I'm the only person who went through with it.........
Yeah, I heard in the news that only like 20,000 people quit on Monday, which isn't really going to make a difference since there's like 500 million users.

I did once for 2 years, only restarting my page at the insistence of my GF. I mostly use it now to make random comments while at work or to keep in touch with guildmates when I'm taking a break from my games. I don't add anyone that I don't actually know and have an interest in, so my friends list is nice and tidy.

Otherwise, anyone who I want to keep in touch with has my cell and/or knows where I live, and can contact me in a more social manner.

There are not enough options. How about just an "Eventually" option or "Sure, why not".
OT: I use it for sharing interesting things I find on the internet and to stay in touch with some of my mates, but it's not my life or anything.

i go with the crowd. i started myspace in high school, i quit myspace when facebook started to make it big, and ill do the same thing when facebook fades out. i give it 2 years. facebook is becoming ridiculous with all the friggin likes. "OH I LIKE THIS! I LIKE THAT! but i cant dislike anything even if its effing ridiculous" facebook is basically one big mental patient who is in the nut house specifically because he loves everything too much - from adorable kittens to clown serial killer rapists.

This poll lacks the option for "I never started using Facebook and consider social networking itself to be a stupid fad I refuse to partake in".
That neatly sums up my opinion of Facebook, Twitter etc.
Same, this poll needs an option for people who don't use the stupid site. It kinda seems to assume everyone does.

I quit about 24ish hours after I joined. I never really got the point, I guess.

Where's the "Never joined in the first place" option?
You can't quit if you never joined in the first place.

I would if I knew that they would happily swap to another form of connection medium. A few of my friends on there won't get MSN, phone calls are horribly expensive when a lot of them are long distance and I can't easily get to see them when they have moved to Universities all across Britain.

As such, no matter how horrifically flawed Facebook is, until my friends are willing to move on from it, I would just be cutting contact with 70% of my friends and inconveniencing myself. Sadly, the chances of them moving on are very low, as they're madly addicted to it.

I need the "when I get bored with it, which may be soon" option or the "practically have, only using it to keep in touch with family because I don't want them following me on Twitter" option. Seriously, that's the way it is so I can say stuff on Twitter to my friends without having to worry about if my grandma sees it and then grandma only sees the nice stuff.

clicked "already did" cos there was no "yes if i had to". i used it to get in touch with some friends from secondary school. they did not reply, what does that tell you. only use it now to sort out meeting with people. i can use other means to do that.
