I don?t get scared by games, my wife does though.
I can?t play RE4 around her: she literally jumps out of her seat. At least with the 3ds she wont be able to watch. Or it will be worse: she?ll watch over my shoulder (whoa, that would be meta if the game has the same perspective as RE4) and scream directly into my ear every time something crazy happens.

I've never been able to bring myself to finish Heavy Rain because I got to the point where you get instructions to kill someone and I couldn't go any further.

For me it was the flash game Exmortis. I played it in the dark, alone, at like midnight. I was thoroughly freaked out. I eventually went back to finish it, but at that time, it was a no go

I was afraid to finish Half Life 2 because after finishing it, I can't re-experience all those things. (Luckily those episodes brought some help to my agony)

I got scared when myself and a friend played Resident Evil 2. That was memorable.

I think that was the only occurrence, although I did nearly flatten my brother over with my chair when Alma suddenly appeared ta the top of a ladder and I was expecting her further along.

Despite finishing Dead Space over half-a-dozen times, it still scares the crap out of me from time to time. It's way freakier to play it in my room on my PC than on my 360 in my TV room, though.

I'm sorry but those floating hands in any Zelda game make me want to pee in my pants. I get so much anxiety when I hear/see them. Too much stress.

I still haven't finished twilight princess because of them.

I have actually stopped myself from finishing a game because I'm too scared, but not because the game was scary.
I'm just scared that when I finish it the game will be over. (v;-;)v So I have yet to finish it. xD

...Also Tomb Raider scares me (Damn music when the wolves run at you), so I don't play any horror games 'cept Resident Evil.
The dialogue is worth the zombie scares =P

I voted for powering through, because I haven't played a game that scared me since I was like 12. But before that, I've played Tomb Raider, something with Osiris and a pyramid in Egypt with huge scorpions and spiders (as I remember it, that is). My (older) brother let me play that part because he was scared, and I was able to power through things like this. I actually liked to play that game, but it was kinda scary and dark in that level. But ever since that, I haven't encountered another game that scared me. What did scare big-time was this game called Shivers, when I was *really* young my dad used to play it in the evening with my bro and me watching. My mom was too scared to even watch it, we were fascinated and powered through it too. Weird thing is - you could only die in *one* puzzle, the others just looked scary like hell and the music was sooooooo good... aahh good times, good times.

Btw, I usually laugh now when playing horror games, I guess I am kind of immune now? F.E.A.R. was a total laugh, I died like a hundred times in the flames just because it was so damn funny ^^

Resident Evil 3...

I was about 11 when this game came out and I got it for Christmas shortly after its release in '99. +

The part that made me quit playing for 3 months was when your in the RPD and you get the transmission from Carlos. You answer and go out to find him with the information he gave you. I was walking down the stairs and past a small ass window when Nemesis breaks through the window and starts with his "S.T.A.R.S..." talk.

Though I never played it myself, watching the older kids play mortal combat on the N64 gave me nightmares especially the bit where one charachter eats off anothers face..

This might sound silly to some, but i shat bricks going through all 5 levels of the Monastery basements and dungeons. The darkness, the hordes of monsters and eerie music freaked me out, big-time.

So, i quit playing. I think after a month or so i started again, and did that. Later, being level 30, i came back and smeared vengeance all over them with my quite-high level bone spear and my slow-but-very-painful-hammer.
Heh..i showed that Andariel who was boss, now didn't i? DIDN'T I?!!

Dead Space was the only game Ive been scared of but it took me 6 months to finish it,and the cut scene to Parasite Eve when I was younger.

Oh I forgot I never finished Dino Crisis 3 because I was too freaked out over the ninja raptors always killing me when I was close to a save point.

If I don't finish the game the memory of cowardice will haunt me. So I do.

I used to get scared when I was younger, but now there are no games that scare me.

Pretty much all of the Fatal Frame titles have done this to me. Probably because I suck a finding a key or puzzle that opens the door to the plot so I had to wander endlessly through those creepy levels.

It wasn't the ghosts that scared me it was the cold ominous feeling of those dungeons.
