I can't take that guy seriously for some reason. Green Nano-Suit. Doesn't Greeny have a Cape?

Personally I think it looks fine although I'm not actually a fan of the Green Lantern comics, I just kind of know he exists and that's it.
Effectively this. I know of the green lantern, and I know a little folklore about his crime fighting activities, I just know very little about him.

So I'm not against it, no.
He's actually one of those cosmic-level crime fighters. Like Superman or Martian Manhunter. Fighting off the giant meteors, alien invasions and hellborne catastrophes. Leaving the real crime fighting to Batman.

Also, your avatar is awesome. Biz Markie 4TW.
Oh my god, yay, someone noticed the Biz! That actually made my day!

Also thanks for clarifying, I always thought he was one of the more small-time one's, but it appears that I've really got to stop trusting those hunches of mine.

Its funny. I was looking forward to this, given that Green Lantern is one of the two DC comics I really liked to read, the other being Blue Beetle. I'm still looking forward to it, even, but the costume just isn't right. I always felt that the Green Lantern was one of the few characters they could actually do least number of changes to appearance-wise and still look pretty cool. I especially like Hal Jordan's design. Now here they are. Mucking up Hal Jordan's design. Its a bit disappointing. I just dread seeing the other Corps members if this is the direction they're going in. Imagine the same thing only yellow. Ugh.

Why, whenever there is a comic-superhero-to-movie adaption, do people get so... er... opinionated about the costume?
Because super heroes are defined by their costume, and Green Lantern's outfit is typically black and green, and is an actual tangible piece of cloth (that as far as I know the ring creates or something?) that can show battle damage and what not.

The problem with this (albeit pretty bitchin' in concept) is that it seems unnatural due to that it seems to conform to every muscle fiber. The design doesn't sit well with me, but I chalk most of that up to the picture used for the cover and hope it looks better when seen in action.

Does anyone else think they should ditch the mask all together and go with the glowing green eyes look that they give John Stewart?
Favorite green lantern by the way. :3 He was the lantern I read growing up so I get a little fidgety when they pull out the white ones. They're all badass in their own right, but John Stewart as GL will always remain the best in my mind

Meh, it looks stupid to me. The people who need to be instructed on the source of the power aren't going to care, and the ones that already know, are likely to be irritated by the conflict.

He hasn't had a cape since he was magic-based, and weak against wood.

Although an Alan Scoot GL movie would have totally been badass - I'd rather have that than either a Hal Jordan GL or Green Hornet (which seems to do little more than confuse people).

It looks alright.

Note* Am I the only one who noticed the "The new Buffy" on that cover?

Don't lie. You want it to be true.
It isnt good Buffy, its a shitty studio project that Joss Whedon has been cut out of entirely. It lacks all the other characters that made the show great.
OT: I'm okay with this.

Also, the guy looks more like Kyle Reyner with a different suit:
than Hal Jordan:

Just the way I see it...

They operate in space a lot and they are friggin super cops so it doesn't seem like alternate identities are truly necessary to the character.
Hal does it as he has family he wants to protect.

Wrong Green Lantern. There is the space cop ones, and the original who had a magical power source.

Is it just me or does it look a little like a Crysis nano-suit?
Now that you mention it it does.

OT: I'm not a fan of it, to be perfectly honest. I would have preferred something closer to the original. That's saying something, though, considering I'm not a fan of the comics.

1. He said that
2. It was ret-conned into the continuity that his ring was made out of the same ... stuff ... as the other rings.

I think that outfit looks stupid. When will Hollywood learn that superheros are not very interesting characters but what makes them interesting is the way they look and that fucking with that is killing the golden goose?

Don't get me wrong - Silver Age GL (Hal) is the superior lantern, and is the most widely known. Golden Age GL did rock a cape though, so... yeah. I do read comics.

Also, if the movie doesn't have Pieface [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Kalmaku] I shall immediately declare it a failure.

Same here, but it should be worth seeing just to watch Ryan Reynolds. He's fucking hilarious.

Eh, I've never really been a Green Lantern fan in the first place. So... eh.

Also... Ryan Reynolds? Isn't he supposed to be in the Deadpool movie as well?
Yes. Didn't you know? Deadpool became a green lantern when Marvel decided he wasn't saturating the market enough when only one publisher had access to him. So they loaned the character to DC as well. Apparently it worked quite well[footnote]There was once a marvel/DC crossover, but I don't know what happened in it. It might have been that![/footnote]
