His channel appears to have been reinstated, at least for me. Honestly I used to tune into =3 regularly but I haven't watched it in a long time. I don't know I just suddenly lost interest in it I was still surprised at the thread title though. Like YouTube would ban one of its precious partners.

As I've said before, "I think his acount got shut down 'cause that he took other peoples videos and put them on his website and put the links to the videos on his website in the description of his videos. That way, he got money from other peoples videos."

I don't watch him as much as I used to, but I can appreciate the work he puts into a show he's been doing twice a week, every week for more than 2 damn years.

Also, that's not his "job". RayWillianJohnson stated numerous times that he does it without being funded. What he does make money is the merchandise sold with the =3 logo on it, which he is allowed to do. If he made money selling other peoples vidoes, that is different.

Someone else bought up the fact that if he did what he does in another medium, he'd get sued. You mean like a TV show? Like Tosh.0, a TV show about a guy who makes fun of viral videos? I heard that guy gets sued all the time.

has nothing special or unique to offer, all he ever does is talk and make horrible distasteful jokes, he has no substance or charisma and his voice/persona irritate the fuck out of me. he probably will come back but it would be great if didn't. (just my opinion)

I got a little tired of his dry humor and a lot of videos that he goes over on his channel are often times old news.

I'm not glad that he's been banned, especially since there are a lot of people on the channel, but I'm a bit indifferent for my lack of interest.

While the guy himself kind of annoys me with his shtick, I do find his videos useful for finding the decent viral videos on youtube. It was a good idea at first but when he started adding in stupid animations/effects and started promoting that Martian crap it got to the stage where I just skip and bits with him talking and went straight to the videos.

So...yeah, I'd be a little annoyed if he was banned. Mainly because then I'd have to hunt for the funny videos myself.

Here, this is what I get to be the most general criticisms about RayWilliamJohnson. This video is about a year old so I'm not sure if any of these still apply, I don't watch him out of principle.


This guy is well known on Youtube for busting the balls of people who whore themselves on Youtube, like Shane Dawson, iJustine, Phil Defranco, and many others.

EDIT: if you don't know who he is, he was a youtuber with the most subscribers (i have 2 million and 4 million in my head, not sure which number), he made videos about viral videos and commented on them making jokes etc.

People hate on him because he doesn't really have much else going on with =3. He hasn't really done much other than just sit there and make penis joke and show kitten videos.

At least Daniel Tosh's show involves different elements with the Web Redemption.
That and Tosh's jokes aren't stale as hell.

The videos RWJ shows are funny. He used to be funny himself. Then he 'sold out' and started selling things and branching out. And when I say branching out, I mean he made a video log about him going places with female escorts to look cool. _> I still <3 Daniel Tosh. That dude spews comedy gold out on a bad day.

I don't think the banning is going to cause too much issue in the long run. He'll be back at some point. I'll just make a note to not read top rated comments on any youtube video for a few months. =P
