I don't really think we should make GTA anything else than what it is, a somewhat goofy crime pseudo-RPG-but as for the realism isn't fun, of course it is! For some. The more realistic the game, the easier it is to envision yourself as the protagonist, or as part of the game world, thus enabling even better escapes. Sure, some people escape by playing games that are as far away from real life as possible. Others enjoy games with realism, so that they can put themselves in it more believably. Take like, Mass Effect. It did a lot to make the world believable. This is a form of realism. They explained and spelled out the pseudo science and made the political wrangling and ethical choices more real. Compare to, say, Super Mario Galaxy. Not exactly trying to be believable here. Still, both games are fun. (in my opinion XD)
