This study seems extremely skewed, I'll stick with good ol chrome.

They'd need to send me a whore-a-day to get me to start using Internet Explorer.
But then you'd just be getting even more virusses. Real ones.

OT: I have always used IE and never had a problem. It's functional for me.

At least the means through which I receive them will be more pleasurable.

I'm sorry but this isn't evidence that IE is the better way to go...
It's evidence that people are retarded and despite all their better judgement will still believe they are genuinely the luckiest bastard alive in winning the Nigerian lottery without even having entered.

Also, if that discount viagra sounds too good to be true... yeah, you get the picture.

Safari's touch gesture capabilities, excellent interface and full-screen mode are what make me use it, though I wouldn't use it if it were slow or if I were always getting viruses. But it isn't, and I'm not, so it's the usability and extra features that tip the balance for me.

Well, DUH.

Honestly, the 'big fight' over browsers is as lame as any console war. They work FINE, some parts better than others. Some people.

YAY it protects me from malware, but does a shitty job on everything else. I use firefox, chrome, and ie all the time, and ie crashes the most, has the most things that piss me off, and overall has the least reasons for me to use it.

It's good to hear that all those IE nublets aren't doing so bad, but no matter how secure a browser is, it can't beat NoScript on Firefox. It blocks literally 9001% of all malicious code.

But that doesn't make any sense... Oh wait yes it does, the results for firefox were done without any type of ad blocker installed (which incidentally also block bad url's)

Besides, I don't NEED my internet browser to block all the viruses. If one gets through somehow, THAT'S WHAT ANTIVIRUS PROGRAMS ARE FOR. Unless you use Norton. Then I feel bad for you.

Not clicking malicious links in the first place will protect you 100% of the time. No browser can do what common sense can.

For everything else, there's decent AV-programs (like Avast)

Seeing as how that study is out-dated already (Firefox 6? OHYEAH!), I don't think there is much to this...
Sure IE does not suck as it did when I gave up on it, but I won't go back..
Too many feelings were hurt.

My heart was in pieces when you left, and she was there for me!

Yeah.. I'm tired..
Recap: I don't care what the NSS Labs came to in their study. I refuse IE.
To all those saying "outdated, 6 is out now" 4 is the main build, 5 and 6 are just tweaks to it.

I'm sorry but if you need IE to block malware then your doing something wrong, your anti virus or anti malware software should be doing this not a browser, or is it just mine thats capable of doing it?

For me IE constantly crashes on the slightest thing yet firefox runs perfectly for me, the only reason i keep IE is incase a website doesn't work with anything other than IE, normally a thing of the past but you'd be surprised at how many websites are still around which ask you to view in IE otherwise something like the buttons won't work.

99.2 versus 13.2?

There's something that's not just fishy, but entirely piscine about that. There's frankly no way something like that could even be allowed to happen.

And I'd be very interested to see where IE8 scored.

Nope, until there's some proper documentation, I'm counting this as a Microsoft trick. One other browser maybe, but all? Nope. Something's going on.

Well this is a pleasant surprise.

But I'm not leaving my Foxy. Nu uh. *cuddles Firefox* >.>
I hear you on that one. Firefox never lets me down and I just like it. I don't know how to explain this, but it feels right ...

... um, in a non-feely way ... you know ... and stuff ...

I've never understood why people hate IE. I like IE. Especially 8. 8 was very conventient, and I kinda miss it
I like IE too, personally I think a lot of the hate is just people trying to be "cool" by being alternative and not using the mainstream browser. I have IE, Firefox and Chrome installed on my computer and there's no noticeable difference in speed between them, and IE has the best layout for me so I use that.
Well IE doesn't even have ad block sooooo

Report: Nobody will ever download IE ever again. There is no possible way that IE can ever come out with a decent enough browser to uproot Firefox and Chrome.

I use IE9 on my windows partition and honestly it's running great.

However I think I'll stick to Safari for my Mac because its the only browser compatible with the new finger strokes of Lion =/
