It depends on the type of game, I think. In FPS's they work better as human sized because fighting a huge boss from a first person perspective can be really awkward but they're better as giants in games like DMC, because the acrobatics in those kinds of games suit larger scale enemies.

A thread about whether giant or human sized bosses are better. Could be worse I suppose.

Killing Floor is a really good FPS. It's a zombie shooter though, and if you're not into zombie shooters you probably won't like it.

I play horde so I'm not sure what the Gnome racials are like but if you start playing WoW just try one out. If you don't get on with it try something else. It tends to be the Class not the Race that people have to adjust their own playstyle too.
It can take a while to find what you want to be or do in WoW but you'll enjoy trying different things out anyway : )

The world's first supervillain. You begin with either a power(s), gadget(s) of your creation, and/or general tools of trade and special skills. You can develop your character in certain ways. Go on rampages and increase the populations fear of you (civilians will become unnerved and lash out at officials, begin to riot themselves, etc), slowly build up status by doing bigger crimes (from robbing gas station, to robbing banks, etc), take out important characters (Police chiefs, Crime bosses, celebrities, mayor's daughters, etc) and build up crews/slaves. (force thugs to work for you, get mafia's to work for you, bribe government officials with fear,etc) As you improve your status and crimes, your character does to. New variations in powers, more money to build gadgets, and your general skills improve as well.

Negotiating: How well you can work out deals with crime bosses and government

Intimidation: How much you can get people to fear you as a population or individuals

Charisma: How you can sooth people into false protection, or be mischievous

Intelligence: How smart your character has gotten and still is since they began

Strength: How strong is your character after getting grunts to do some of his work

And a few other things I can't think about right now.

You can also access menu's (which also contain miniature menu's) to display how you're affect other NPC's in the game. Such as how much they fear you.

Population fear levels:

General population( adults, children, workers, etc): 94%

The Police force(county, state, etc): 85%

The Government (President, Military, etc): 83%

Other criminals (crime bosses, thugs, etc): 75%

And you can check how much money you have:

Oh your person: $50

Stashed away: $25,000

Spent: $3,000

Share: $2,000

And other things.

So yeah, pretty much that's it. I've been working on this concept for awhile, in my head, and still need to smooth somethings out.

My first post was in the thread "Poll: Am I the only one who liked FFXIII?)

It was not bad, but lots of the element from previous games in the franchie have either been changed or gone to waste. Even though I miss the ATB-system (Active Time Battle), job changing and the open world, this game works out ok. The good things abot the game is that the random encounters, which I actually miss, but when I don't have to worry about being forced to battle every 4th step in a cave, I say it's ok. The cutscenes could have been without all the whining and all the grunting sounds, sometimes, it's too much. The Square-Enix francise is taking a different line from how the Squaresoft FF where, but like everything (ecxept war according to Fallout) it changes. If this is how Square-Enix FF games are gonna be, it's ok, but please. At least once, or twice, I hope that they take innspiration from one or more of the previous games and make a game remmenecing to the classic style of FF games.
Overall, not a perfect game, but can be entertaining to the right audience

I still thinks the game is OK, but some opinions may have changed with time.

I played as SVER. Loved it.
Then I went veteran and decided to try Raven.

I tried the ATAC 2000 and fell in love with how easily it cut through the enemy.
I recently proposed, and we're getting married next week.

Well I st started here on the escapist so it's my first forum. I've really gotten into old episodes of red dwarf and I love Simon Pegg movies. And if you don't know about red dwarf they always call each other smeghead as an insult. But on my xbox live it's more interesting, my names MONTYZUMA and I had it even on the original xbox, it's a mix of my dog Monty and a very nice mexican restaurant near where I live called Montezumas. I was really annoyed when I found someone had taken it here.

Been a hell of a ride since then.

OK I shall TRY to be relatively unbiased when I say this (although, admittedly I do think they should finish it).

Nintendo has not really bought anything new to the series that dramatically adds and changes the gameplay/storyline etc. for the better in a long time. It really is the same thing over and over again, and it seems like some of their 'good' ideas are just removed and changed for something else every series. (berries? poffins? seriously just stick with one name and keep it...it changes every game I swear)

Also on another note, their latest innovation - Triple Battles. What. The. Fuck. Honestly I can imagine the workers at Nintendo...

Team Manager: OK! We need a new gameplay mechanic, any ideas?
Dumbass 56: Umm, well we already have double battles...
Dumbass 394: What about triple battles?? That'd be kewl right??

Ok sarcasm aside, that is ridiculous. Moves like Earthquake will be very powerful and I don't see it adding any more depth to the fighting. :/ What I would like to see from Pokemon is something that dynamically changes the game (move to 3D perhaps?) and does so in a way that improves the series. I think a pokemon RPG or MMO would be right area to expand. Pokemon is pretty much a grindfest anyway, so an MMO would be just up its alley.

Also, I would like to see a darker, more mature version of pokemon with a solid storyline and issues such as death, poverty, corruption of power etc. Although I know it is near impossible, but honestly if done right it would be amazing. I really think Pokemon could work in a dark atmosphere.

Okie dokie enough ranting for me .

PS: I actually don't mind the new pokemon - at least in comparison to Pearl/Diamond.

I would also pick Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the cursed king. The game is so bleedin long (Took me 120 hours to complete it first time, not including side quests and extra endgame dungeons) Plus its replayable as all the characters can be trained in 4 different weapons keeping them different each time.

...and not to mention Jessica's jiggle physics...

This is an interesting question depending upon how you approach it. Most of us and by us I mean the readers of this forum have been educated by teachers, parents/guardians and led to beleive certain things. One of my favourites is when people tell their children ,"You are special". They should say, " You are special to me but other people may not think you are". This can lead to people feeling entitled. Or to put it simply, Can you honestly tell me and this forum that if I picked you and one other at random for execution for no other reason than someone gave me the power, you wouldn't believe that your life had a higher inherent value than that of the person next to you ? Of course you would, we are programmed for survival we each believe we are more important. The truth however is that we are all worth aproximately the same as our own weight in fertilizer.

Yes, I beleive that every action taken by a human being detracts/adds from how i personally value that individuals life assuming that everyone has an inherent value at birth, unfortunately circumstances being what they are, some people do not get the chance to fulfill their potential and you have to wonder wether or not that devalues them. I know it isn't a fair system but we value based on looks, behaviour of even the most fleeting nature and preconceived ideas. While we may be the most intelligent creatures on the planet, we are at heart primates and we still operate in a tribal manner. Don't think so ? Have you EVER wrote, said or thought a negative thing about someone or some people based on the fact that they are not like you ? Its tribal stupidity doing it, and its easier to do the further away you are from the problem. Human beings are hypocritical, lying, greedy and worthless, everthing we do for ourselves. The only actions that should be allowed to value/devalue a human life should be how we value others.

No, it's more like Pro-drug have never actually made a case about why it should be legal, they've just sited off reasons why it shouldn't be illegal. The medical purposes? Pretty much noneffective. Sure, there definitely is benefits, but nothing that actually pills and other modern medicine has far out-passed, and then some.

If it's bad for me, shouldn't it simply be my choice not to take it? For me, that's where the argument of its health risks end; it's my body, it should be my choice.

Sorry, but the people keeping it illegal really do think they are doing it for your own good. Addiction to marijuana is actually a thing, believe it or not. My brother got it pretty hard core, and now my friend decided he was going to just plain stop from being an everyday smoker for the past 7 months. It's been a week, and he's a wreck.

But I have never had a bad night with weed, I smoke only on a blue moon with some close friends, and other than the former, we never broke any laws while under the influence.

I realize that all pro-cannabis vocalists are working to a lost cause, and that saddens me because I would much rather have a night with some some weed than with alochol and not go to jail just for doing so.

Well, you've never been cosmic bowling after smoking some really harsh weed. I have, and it was one of the scariest nights I've ever had. I ended up with a really bad itch on my leg and scratched myself till I bled. It was pretty bad.

Also, I wouldn't worry about this "Lost cause" that pro-weed users are working towards. I have a Dad who is actually pretty high up there when it comes to whether weed is going to be legalized or not, and believe me, it's going to happen. It might take a few years, but it's sure as hell coming.

OT: Now that I've kinda gotten those points out of the way, believe it or not, I am actually a supporter of weed. Hell, I'm about to buy some tomorrow (legally of course, cough cough).I just like to point out the flaws in some of these peoples arguments so that they stay away from them and search for more logical ones.

Like I said above, I have a dad who is probably going to one of the guys put in charge of legalizing it in the US, and legalization has made some headway these past few years. It's going to happen. Let's just try to keep some liberals in office.
