Back when I only visited the Gaming Discussion section, from the thread "Your longest boss fight".Because of how many times I died (I'm not joking when I say I stopped counting after 144 game overs), the boss of the second level of Ikaruga on Hard. I still can't even get to that boss with more than one life left. When I beat the second level for the first time, I literally jumped out of my chair, and started dancing.
This was my take on a bit from one of the 5 Metal Gear Solid 4 vids from unskippable. I know this is only a thread about posting your first post but I wanna comment on this one too, my second ever post here on the Escapist:Shoggoth2588 said:"Look snake is on the ground for some reason ... probably broke a hip"
Snake: "I finally know what mable ment when she said all senior citizens should have life alert." -or- "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!"
Why have none of these happened yet?!Shoggoth2588 said:Finally, we're going to see family friendly comics in which Cyclops and Jean get married, Galactis teaches the values of eating a healthful and well balanced diet and, the Marvel Zombies fall through the mirror into Wonderland

Aww, I wish it were a more interesting post, but sadly, it is not. The thread was about the most awesome/lamest boss fight.NastoK said:Right, well, no great, epic, awesome, fantastic, praiseworthy, boss fight comes to mind, at least at the time being (Will edit if one does), but as for a lame boss fight, I'd have to go with the final fight in Risen, against a titan. I read a review about the game once, and the reviewer had an interesting perspective, that goes something along the lines: "And when they got to the end, it was as if the suddenly remembered the game was being made for Xbox as well, and added a sequence battle." Now, I don't know about Xbox, I don't have one, and I won't pretend like I know a lot about it, but that fight was ridiculous. No matter what you did in the game, nothing of it counts. A mage, an archer, a warrior, whether you were weak or strong, the battle simple throws your character away, and says: You can do it, just jump around and hit him when he's weak. It's as if everything you've done to that point was meaningless.
Basically I started as I meant to go on XDAwesomeNinjaPowers said:Bras. I mean it. They are not comfy at all and we have to wear them alll the fraggin time.
I actually censored my swears back then. Wow, I've come really far.TLS14 said:God damn Tonberries. I hate those motherf**kers.

Always gota give out my opinion.Having played planetside on and off for several years, I dont really think you can distinguish the multiplayer pay to play side of GA from the sounds of it from planetside, other than to say its new and shiny.
Planetside, you can join outfits to raid with friends, you level up to gain skill points which allow you to gain the proficiency to use different armor and weapon loadouts, and run varying different vehicle's and vehicle loadouts, culminating in the Battle Mech proficiency for getting all the relevant skills and completing the cavern achievements. Hell, as the vanu sovereignty your MAX and mech suits even get jump jets![]()
Thread about best fps on the consolech0pstixZ said:Im going to say Doom os the SNES. It showed really just how powerful the SNES was, sure the game didn't run all that great and textures were missing BUT the game was there (nearly) in its entirety! Doom being a 32 bit game running on a 16 bit console was truly someting to behold!
Stripping the game down to its bare roots really gives you a feel for just how hard the programmers had to work to get it to run given the SNES's limited processing power and its memory constraints.
It was a long time ago about recommending Warhammer 40k books.Alssadar said:The Ragnar Blackmane series is excellent, without a doubt.
If you want just a bunch of small stories, go with Legends of the Space Marines, and Heroes of the Space Marines. They give interesting insight on some small chapters, Chaos, and some short stories by big-time WH40k writers. You could branch off from their stories.
Also, if you've played Dawn of War 2, the book may not be the best, as Chris Roberson completely ignored Eldar activity, which annoys me personally, but it could be fine with you.
On some thread about not agreeing with YahtzeeSometimes I disagree with him but like him I care much more about gameplay than graphics.
I somehow posted this the 26th of March, though according to this site I joined the 27th.MASTACHIEFPWN said:This is what valve should do, Kill rocheall and replace her with zoey... I'd still say the same thing now, more than three years later.Najos said:Zelda. It was probably the first game I really played and knew what I was doing at the same time. I remember beating it and being insanely proud of myself. I was probably 7 or so. I accredit Zelda to giving me a passion for gaming.
Oh the memories.Varitel said:I stongly support vaccinations. It is true that all of them carry some risk, but for most people, the benefits well outweigh them. Even flu vaccines and chicken pox vaccines have their place. The flu presents a real threat to the elderly and very young children, and chicken pox can lead to shingles in adulthood. Shingles is a very painful condition that lasts for weeks, though it is rarely fatal.
Apparently I started out on this forum with a flair of over thinking my posts and typing a bit too much. Oh well. S'how I roll.Half-Life series - I may be biased as this is my favorite game series as well, but that may be due partially to the music. Kelly Baileys work on the soundtracks and sound design of all of Valve's games always fits perfectly to what is going on in the game and makes for just great listening. Combining techno-industrial tracks with moody, claustophobic, ambient tracks makes for one of the more unique STs out there and accurately portrays the dystopian, cyberpunk, horror feel of the Half-Life story. One of the only soundtracks I listen to outside the game.
MechWarrior2 series - Jeehun Hwang had amazing talent for creating such a rhythmic, ambient soundtrack with such limited techology. Just made you feel like you were really piloting a 30 foot tall, 80 ton, walking metal robot.
Prince of Persia - the blend of ambient persian music with metal guitars was very cinematic
BG&E - Propaganda!
Psychonauts - almost physchodelic (no pun intended)
Metal Arms - not my favorite game, but loved the ST)
Conker's Bad Fur Day - how could anyone NOT love this one?
Homeworld - gave the player a sense of awe and scale of the epic space battles
Sonic Adventure 2 - just kinda catchy, if that makes sense
Metroid Prime - each song fit perfectly with it's designated area
Perfect Dark - had a very cyber-punk combined with 70's spy feel
Freespace 1 & 2 - like homeworld, complimented the visuals to make you feel like you were in the middle of space.
