I've been slowly working my way towards unlocking the one and only secret ("secret") character, and I'm enjoying Continuum Shift as much as I did Calamity Trigger... but with one, major dissent.

Arakune got nerfed! D:
(Yeah, he deserved it, but DAMN IT ALL I liked abusing him.)
Arakune got a pretty significant buff. His stats are better, and you no longer lose the curse when you hit him.

At least he's not Rachel. They hit her with the nerf bat, and kept on swinging. Because of that, I'm using Tsubaki now.

Sadly for UK folks this won't be released until October, and even then they'll be asking £40 for the game. Still, at least it's coming.

Awesome stuff. I loved the first game and put the entire soundtrack on my iPod. Zen United (the guys who distribute BlazBlue/Guilty Gear in Europe) recently had a Fan edition of this on their store. It was basically the limited edition which also came with a Makoto download code, and a Noel nendoroid figure. I went to pre-order one, but they sold out as only 500 were being made.

So now I'm looking for another Noel figure

the odd thing about Noel is that every ingame art pic with her, shes got no undergarments.

Rachel got nerfed to uselessness. its kinda sad, seing as shes supposed to be 1 of the most powerful characters in the series, besides The Imperator, Jubei and possibly Terumi/Hazama.

Arakune didnt get nerfed too badly. hes still often used in competitive play.

the character that truly deserved a nerf was Nu. being able to easily pull a 5000 damage combo out of her jumpsuited arse was just lame, especially since SHE DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO TOUCH YOU. and now shes back as Lambda´s Unlimited mode... *sigh*

Me, a year ago.

"Okay so I'm playing as Rachel, one of the best characters in the game. I'd best balance that out. This Tager guy looks pretty shitty, I'll play him as well."

Me, today.

Was that your face when you realized that Tager is now essentially Jesus and Rachel now has all the strength of a real goth loli?
I fucking wish. Thanks to some serious buffs Tager now wont cause your opponent to laugh hysterically until they shit themselves to death when you pick him. He will still, however, lose horribly unless you're playing against Noel.

Edit: Or Rachel.
Damn I wish I could agree with what you're saying about Tager. With the almighty power of Gadget Finger loops and his insane amount of Guard Primers I don't have issues with any of the cast with him. I'm not even allowed to play him in the company of my friends thanks to the unstoppable loop of Gadget Finger -> Tager Buster.

It's been pretty much agreed upon that Arakune got nerfed. It takes too long to proc bugs anymore and taking away his free dash after dive bomb really crippled his maneuverability and made him more predictable.

Is it a good idea to get this game if I haven't played the first one?
It's a VERY good idea.

There's a decent plot summary for the story mode, and the tutorial mode is fantastic, teaching you more than enough to be a decent player. Even some basic combo strings!

Haha, awesome. It doesn't come out until October in the UK though, which kinda sucks.
But when I do eventually play it, and I've improved my skills, I'll play you. :p

Oh he owns in casual play. His high damage, massive health and ridiculously easy to learn combos (followed with a free atomic divider if your opponent even thinks about air teching after the standing D) makes him a bit of a beast against semi-good players. Someone who knows what they're doing though will own Tager pretty much every time. He simply doesn't have the tools to deal with quick rushdown or zoning. For example his only answer to Ragna's standing B (which is still absurdly quick) is a backdash followed by a command throw and if that get's baited them, wohoo, it's time to start eating fist.

Well, Platinum and Makoto fit that bill, not so much for Valkenhayn as he's hardly done anything plot-wise except being Rachel's butler. Still, looking forward to him and what he'll do in the next installment (whenever that's out)
Don't forget that Valkenhayn is one of the Six Heroes, just like Hakumen, Hazama, Jubei, Platina, and Nine. It's only natural he'd be expected to fight at some point.

The review mentioned a character who's existence is a spoiler...who is it? =)

Also, I'm no expert on the lore, but that multi-personality chick came out of nowhere, right?
Not quite with Platinum she fills a void of the sixth hero of the six heroes.

I loved almost all the new tracks, Nightmare Fiction, Endless Despair and Condemnation Wing were awesome and have me maxing out the BGM to 100 and everything else at 50.

I've liked what they've done with the story line where its a lot easier to get 100%, no need to lose every battle and if you do get the alternate (bad ending) you get a free gag show with professor kokonoe who tells you what you did wrong. Also all characters BUT Hakumen have a funny ending (Gag Reel) which for some characters aren't that good, some with a slightly sad ending (lambda) but most are very entertaining.

I enjoyed this game's story mode a lot more than CT and the addition of legion mode and challenge mode does help me improve my skills at my character more without having to humiliate myself online.

I have the original release of BlazBlue on my PS3, and I'm curious of continuum shift is something I can DL as DLC to compliment the game, or if I have to go purchase a whole new release. ;_;

Am I the only one who thinks that the girl in the blue uniform with the two pistols that would make Dante ashamed (shown from the thirty second mark to about the forty-four second mark) is hotter than hell?

OT: Hmm, never saw much in the BlazeBlue games (not one for fighters), but the need for a new party game at my house after the death of a Rock Band guitar and the neat character designs might have me giving this a look.

It isn't unfortunately (which is bullshit in my opinion but there's plenty of people who'll argue it deserved a full release) but it only retails for $40.

I don't know anything about BlazBlue, other than it's the spiritual successor to GG, which means it rocks (no pun intended) by default but DAYM! The soundtrack is pure eargasm!
