Not good at all, if this happens I bet their will be crappy sequels to GTA, and Bioshock released every year, (aka Call of Duty syndrome)
Who bets KoTICK wishes to go after Valve as well. (note this is currently impossible, for the moment)
Goddamn, Valve's like a gaming superhero now.

Well, I'm hardly an Activision fanboy as you might notice from a lot of my rants, but I will say that greedy and stupid don't always go hand in hand. You'll notice Activision remained "hands off" with Blizzard and it's operations and that turned out quite well for games like "Starcraft 2" even if I have my personal bones to pick with that release (like only having one race's campaign), also "Diablo 3" is still highly anticipated, and the WoW expansions have hardly either been panned or crashed. In picking up another "quality first" developer I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that they will also stay back.Irridium said:I really hope they don't. Activision will run 2K's IP's into the ground, and just cock things up for people who love 2K's games.
I doubt 2K's "quality first" mantra will go over well with Activisions "release everything every year fuck quality profits are only whats important"
Just... dammit.
That pic makes it seem like he is LITERALLY hungry to devour 2K... or at least their souls.Scott Bullock said:

Which is actually a legitimate argument against Activision, probably the first I've seen in the last 20 threads about it.
Take-Two is also quite successful. So why is there so much opposition to this again? Almost all of the anti-Activision sentiments don't seem to extend beyond "BOBBY KOTICK IS TEH DEVILZ, THEY RUIN EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH" etc. The same comments were brought up when Activision merged with Blizzard, yet Blizzard is still making insane amounts of money. If Take-Two wanted to sell itself to Activision, there is almost no doubt in my mind that they would go for a similar arrangement, so I just don't get the "OMG END OF TAKE-TWO, NO MOAR GOOD GAMEZ" idea.
You also mentioned EA. Anyone remember how well THAT publisher was received two years back? Then they re-invented themselves and a new party had to become the whipping boy. Sure, Activision has made plenty of bad decisions, and they deserve flack for them. But I don't see the point of actively demonizing them, especially when they do just as much good business as the bad.

I wish it was just M$ and Sony, sure it would just be all exclusive crap, but damn EA and activison piss me off more, I dont play many ubisoft games so yeah...
On the brightside, this may stop me buying new games and in my quest for more good games, try games I didnt get before, or use money I would have spent on older games I wanted but never got around to buying. Silver lining.
