Rumor: Bethesda to buy Valve?

I'm highly skeptical of this. Especially given valves stance on independence. I reserve the right to be surprised, but I'm -really- doubting this.

Team Fortress 2, Left for Dead 1/2, Half-life series, Day of Defeat, Counter Strike.
Then look at all of the money they probably are getting from Steam. It is becoming the most preferred way to buy games these days.
I think Valve can buy Beth, at least two-fold.
But that is opinion, I have no numbers to back up my words.

I love Bethesda cause I love Fallout 3, but Valve is Valve, you should never try to buy Valve, they don't work like Bethesda(release one completely junk franchise then buy one off another company) Vale works completely different they spend maybe 3 years working on a game then release it's shiny sexy smooth self as a present from God!
I swear to God I'm burning down Zenimax's main office if they do buy Valve!

Well Valve is my favorite developer partly because they have the leeway to do whatever they want and that's part of what makes their games so damn good. Of course, thinking this, my knee jerk reaction is to say that any buyout will immediately lead to a degeneration of the quality of their games.
On the other hand, I've only played Fallout 3 from Bethesda, which I freaking love. (I know I know, Oblivion and all that but FO3 just piqued my interest immensely so I bought it) Going from that game and what I've heard as a whole from people about that company, I'd say I'm okay with this. Assuming that ZeniMax doesn't mess anything up.
I'd still like Valve to be independent but if they had to be bought out, I'm okay with this.
