Rumor: Hitman Dev Axes Staff, Kills Project [UPDATED]

Give them a break about Kane and Lynch (the first one). It was an ambitious idea, and they deserve credit for trying. That said, I couldn't stand it and the second one got atrocious reviews.

The Hitman games rule. I would like to play an assassin game with a bit less of a puzzle element, but Hitman was good.

We haven't had a Hitman game since Blood Money right? That means there hasn't been a Hitman game this console generation. Yet we've had two Kane and Lynch games, entirely without merit or any kind of fan response. The only thing I can think of as a reason for this is the fact that Eidos was eaten by Square. Io might have suffered for that.

On a serious note, that really sucks. Kane and Lynch stood as utter bull-shit while Hitman was awesome as hell. What are these people thinking? Seriously. Don't fire the people working on your successful IP.

Sometimes people like to work on something different, thats why they did Kane & Lynch 1 & 2, plus Freedom Fighters and Mini Minjas.

Freedom Fighter and Mini Ninjas was great, K&L1 was not, the second was a decent game, with some unique elements. I liked K&L2 because of the chances they took, it stood out amongst the horde of other generic shooters. It was not a perfect game and it was to short, but it had some fine moments and a fun MP.

Anyway, the people working on Hitman 5, is still working on Hitman 5.
