Please. Please. PLEASE. Make Freedom Fighters 2. Please. FF was brilliant
This man speaks the truth, Freedom fighters was great Gameplay, I must have played that game through about three times and it never once got old. Also it had great ragdoll physics, much better than many games that came later inclusing IO's own games

You tried making a sequel to a game that was only famous for its controversy with Gamespot. Thats all it was really known for. It did have a pretty interesting multiplayer component, but was otherwise mediocre.

What the fuck did you think would happen when you released a sequel to a game who's only claim to fame was that it got Gerstmann fired?

It appears that Agent 47 couldn't out-shoot Kane and Lynch.

Even though Kane and Lynch was horrifically shit. Why the hell did they even do another Kane and Lynch and NOT Hitman 5?!

GAH!

I think this is the right time to remind everyone that IT WAS US, THE GAMERS THAT TOLD THEM TO FOCUS ON HITMAN and not that awful Kane and Lynch piece of shit! What the fuck were they thinking? On one side they have a game series that everybody knows and loves, EVERYBODY! And on the other side there is Kane and Lynch that is widely known as TRASH! I am sorry but I'm freaking out. I just love Hitman and I am pissed!

Why didn't they just fire whoever was responsible for the idea of Kane and Lynch and other big shots in charge of that disgrace?!!!

It ain't Hitman. That's all I can say.
Don't waste your breath. It seems like people don't wanna listen, but rather go on a rant on how pissed they will be, if it's Hitman 5 and how much they suffer because of this, yada yada yada,

Well, they seemed convinced for some reason that Kane and Lynch was this massive success waiting to happen, and they apparently sunk a fortune into the advertising at least. Somehow they also managed to convince themselves that the bad reviews in spite of their advertising dollars were some kind of conspiricy against the game, yet to be honest I never heard anything better about either game than that they were pretty average.

If I had to make a wild guess, my immediate suspicians given their plans for Kane and Lynch to be a huge franchise, would be that they decided to finally kill the franchise like the garbage it was, and cuts/layoffs are from the department that was going to be making the THIRD Kane and Lynch game (with that game being the cancelled project). Given how they were behaving around that franchise it wouldn't surprise me if they had started developing the next game right on the heels of the one that just came out, expecting it to be hot.

We'll see what happens, I could very well be wrong, but since the Hitman Franchise has been doing okay, and Kane and Lynch has pretty much bombed twice in a row, it doesn't make much sense to me that Hitman 5 would be what they are cutting... I mean they aren't going out of business and they only have so many properties.

We haven't had a Hitman game since Blood Money right? That means there hasn't been a Hitman game this console generation. Yet we've had two Kane and Lynch games, entirely without merit or any kind of fan response. The only thing I can think of as a reason for this is the fact that Eidos was eaten by Square. Io might have suffered for that.
Blood Money is on the 360.

OT: As some others have said, it would make more sense if the killed project was a third K&L. The main connection to Hitman is the fact that 47's VA said something about a sequel, but there are a number of other explanations as to why they downplayed his comments.

This is a "We'll have to wait and see" situation.

If Hitman 5 is dead whilst they shoved out Kane and f*cking Lynch I will rage.
It's funny that because it took until Blood Money for IO to realise people wanted Hitman for the stealth-murder simulation, whilst earlier ones contained too much running and gunning as a necessity and people hated it. Maybe with Kane & Lynch they'll realise the only interest was in crime-capers, not the dull shooting and story. With Hitman Blood Money the theme seemed to be that the game was made first with all the inspired set pieces and then a story was tacked on and it didn't suffer for it.

Or they could just do what people like: Hitman Blood Money 2(Hitman 5).

Sorry, but have you even played the other games?

Yes it's always "internal re-arrangements" isn't it? Is that how HR likes to say "you're project's gone and so are you"? At least in science, when they decide not to fund a project, they come out and say it to your face. Hiding behind slogans such as "re-organization", when EVERYONE knows you mean CULL, is cowardly and insulting. I really wish companies would stop this - it doesn't make anyone feel better.

Coming home to your family and saying "hey guys, I've just been "re-organized" into a non-paying, non-existent position in the company" is just a wordier way of saying "I've been fired". I don't know why companies insist on this insulting terminology.

And I really feel for those who lost their jobs. Tough times.

Oh thank god I found someone else who loved it. So few people I know love that game as much as I do. Squad based combat done right.

Slap some online, higher difficulties, and a campaign longer than 6 hours and I'll buy it twice. I finished that game like 8 times and I want to play it again!

I'm sorry, but I find myself unable to comment on this topic due to my brain refusing to accept the fact that Kane & Lynch and Hitman were made by the same people.
