Yes, because it's completely unreasonable for a California-based developer made largely of Americans to make a game about Americans...?
Well at least the Canadians can be happy about being included in Call of Duty 3...just saying haha =)
(my girlfriend's Canadian...so plenty of love for maple syrup lol)

Yes, because it's completely unreasonable for a California-based developer made largely of Americans to say 'Hey! I just noticed, we're not the only country in the world! Maybe we do a game from a different perspective?'...?

If it turns out to be true it's likely to be the 2nd CoD I'll have bought. I loved Farcry 2 so another FPS in a jungle would be fantastic.

What else do you want?

First people get all pissed off at new WWII games, but when a Vietnam game comes out now it's bad because it has to do with the U.S.? Very mature, no mixed signals.
I agree. Also, seeing as the Americans were the badguys in this war, I wouldn't consider it to be pro-America if that's what people are thinking.

Well, Treyarch's Call of Duty games suck, and Vietnam war games always suck, so I don't see how this can possibly go wrong.

Seeing as I played WaW for about 3 months then went back to CoD4 I might give this a miss. I wonder if you'll be burning villages and using grenades on civilians?

It will be a nice change from WW2. I think developers are getting the message we're bored of world war 2 and it sset pieces we've played over and over again. Even Medal of Honour is leaving WW2.

I prefer WaW over Modern Warfare personally because it had that rather dark tone.

So i am definitely get this since i hope it will contain all the struggles that the American soldiers faced, as in that some of then killed innocents etc etc (i wont go into that)

Well...im hyped for it now.

This could be a really good game but I would like to see the ANZACs involved in the game this time.

I can enjoy if they have a dark tone with Vietnam, just not such freaking dark colouring. Seriusly, with they collour pattern in WaW neither what you wore, it became the perfect camouflage.

Well I cant say I'm surprised. Treyarch had to run out of wars and major battles sooner or later.
They haven't even scratched the surface, since all they've covered so far is World War 2 and a fictional World War 3. There be lots of fodder out there yet to touch on, like the Israeli Wars from the 40's onward, War of the Balkans, the Korean War, the Falklands War, the Chechn Civil War, the civil wars in Africa, the conflicts between India, Pakistan, and China, the Afghan rebellion against the Soviet Union, the list goes on and there are plenty that barely involve the US. Many have atrocities that count no more less than the Holocaust, and many too high a bodycount. If that is what you want in a CoD game, then there is plenty of material for Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Activision yet to trod into the mud on.

Vietnam needs more representation in games. \o/ and dear god i hope they have a campaign that wasn't 4 hours long the average Spec Ops or Grunt isnt trained to be the Master Chief Ok, just cause Halo had it doesn't mean you need to too IW <.<

I hope that for once insanity ward stops being assholes and actually gives them the documentation instead of just the engine code and leave them to figure it out for themselves resulting inn them having to throw the game together in a few months and basing on reverse engineering.

Drugs, napalm, whores, booby traps, escorting news crews and a mw2-ish "controversial" level involving flamethrowers in a village?

Anyone else think it'd be great playing as a Viet-Minh troop? Taking part in the Tet offensive, performing guerilla actions and maybe gettting Napalmed at one point! Oh and I say this as a History buff not as an American hater, but I think it'd make a better game than playing as another American grunt, no offence to anyone.

I like the fact that Treyarch has decided to give the game a theme that focuses on Call of Duty's signature gameplay:

1) camping.
2) running around stabbing with a knife.

I mean, a jungle is good for two things, and I just listed them. Vietnam is full of jungles.

This game is perfect for faction specific killstreaks that reflect how people could play them; the U.S. can focus on air strikes and napalm with in discriminant destruction (no radar please), and the Vietcong faction can have dozens of styles of booby traps from double layered spike pits, poisoned arrow launching tripwires, and classic tree spring noose traps.
The NVA could have tanks and air support as well, but also the ability to create networks of tunnels that all NVA players could see.

If its Vietnam, I'd also like an appropriate soundtrack instead of the tasteless orchestral pieces CoD overuses.
and a new multiplayer mode; Patrol.
The U.S. forces have to make a lap around a map to a pickup point where a helicopter will pick them up, and the Vietcong forces have to ambush them. Kinda like a game of l4d versus, but possibly eliminate respawning for the NVA/Vietcong side to make them more cautious in order to balance it.
