I'm not sure you're supposed to put too much analyzation to it. I know for a fact that all concept artist (Be it games or any other media), makes LOADS of stuff and squiggles that has no relevance on anything they're currently working on. They just make it when brainstorming and letting their creative juices flow all over their workstation... (eww)

I didn't complain that much when you announced Left 4 Dead. It angered me a lot, but not so much as to prevent me from getting the second one. And my anger died down.

I did complain a bit when you announced Portal 2. I'll probably get it, but not at launch.

Now, you're planning a new IP? YOU'RE PUTTING MORE MANPOWER INTO DIFFERENT GAMES? I WANT TO SEE THE CONCLUSION TO THE GAMES THAT GOT YOU STARTED! I mean, really, WHAT THE FUCK are you thinking? At least motherfucking finish the game! Gabe's finally made enough money to fill his doughnut quota, so I can understand that there's no financial incentive to finish it, but at least show us a demo or something that proves that you've been doing more than picking your noses since Episode 2? Don't follow Duke Nukem Forever's example! Fucking make the game already!

Maybe it is a prank.

But all the same I'm in the mood for some wild guessing.

Those drawings remind me very much of the few little pictures in Raising the bar that explain Prospero and it's eventual death. Anyone creative will know that their pet projects die extremely hard, the gaming world we live in now is pretty much exactly what Prospero would needed to succeed (and what 1996's blistering 56k lines couldn't deliver).
Who knows, maybe another of Valve umpteen years in the making. I would love to see Prospero actually appear, it sounded like a user generated MMO, which sounds brilliant.
