I'm assuming you mean:

But yeah, if Lucas does this, it's probably going to be really, really stupid. Will Lucas be able to out-stupid, out-racist, and out-goofy-ass-unnecessary-ancillary-character Jar Jar Binks? Will his portrayal of the romance between Luke Skywalker and Mara-Jade be as lifeless, awkward, and painful-to-watch as the one between Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala? Will this new trilogy be as much of a flashy malestrom of bullshit CGI with little-to-no emphasis on coherent storytelling or character development?

These and other vital questions will be answered... hopefully never.

Star Wars is dead. Star Trek is dead (since TNG, if you ask most fans). Firefly is dead (Which is a shame). Battlestar Galactica is dead. Babylon 5 is dead. Andromeda? DEAAAAAAAD. Farscape? Who the hell even watched Farscape?

Star Wars WAS a great sci-fi/fantasy epic (and so were many of the entries listed above), but we need to move on to something else. George Lucas is not the man to provide us with the next great space opera.

Or, if we must insist on beating old properties to death with the Hollywood cudgel, how about we get Joss Wheadon to do a treatment for Wing Commander: Privateer? Maybe starring Nathan Fillion instead of Freddy Prinze Jr. and Matthew FUCKING Lillard?

Just saying.

Well, this could be interesting. I wonder who the main character will be in the next trilogy if it ain't gonna be Skywalker.

god dammit. It's going to be horrible and painful and I'm going to hate myself for going to see it.

No! Lucas! Stop! Bad boy! Step away from the stormtrooper you are sodomising (cookie for the reference)! But your hands behind your head! And for god sakes, put some fucking pants on!

So, yeah. I'm not looking forward to it.

as someone with not that much hate for the prequels (sure they weren't AS good but they weren't that terrible) I'm very excited about this.

Would love to see something set well beyond the current Star Wars era. I think not focusing on the old characters could breathe new life into the franchise.

As long as we don't have a rehash of the same story. Leave the Sith out, do something new, and make it epic like the first trilogy. Make it morally ambiguous, where we don't know who the right person is, make a story about the characters, and less about the setting.

Characters make a story George, you knew this when you wrote the first trilogy, if you make this one, go back to that formula, make us care about the protagonists, and leave us wanting them to succeed against long odds.

Also, big G. if you want help, call me, I'd be glad to brainstorm with ya. :)

Yea, considering I was expecting a kids movie, they weren't as disappointing as the Matrix sequels.
I'm just wondering: how will the movies start?
"A little while ago, in a galaxy far away."
How long ago was "Long time ago" anyway? It could be "in a fortnight, in a galaxy far away."

OH PLEASE GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even atheists will get on their knees and pray wo which ever God is most convienient to prevent Lucas form doing this. AGAIN!

This dregs up memories of that South Park episode where Lucas and Spielberg were rapeing Indiana Johns (this came out soon after "Kingdom of the Christal Skull").

It is clear now that the time has come for the fans to take a stand and tell Lucas and others like hi that we will not sit by and let them destroy the stories that we grew up with and love dearly.
We must rise up and make our voices heard, from the farthest desert to the darkest swamp, from the deepest valley to the highest mountain.
We must not allow such atrocities to go unpunished.
If he really does make these movies, we must resist the powerful urge to go see a Star Wars movie. We MUST NOT go and see these.
To go and see this movie would only be a signal to Lucas that we are ok with him butchering such a historic and important franchise, and this is simply NOT TRUE!

Meh, I'm a lover of anything Star Wars. If Hayden Christensen isn't allowed anywhere near it then I'm okay with it. I'd love to see more movies.

George Lucas announces the new trilogy tomorrow, to be produced with the assistance of the Knights of the Old Republic team.

I just hope they do some editing on the script this time. The prequel trilogy came across as a first draft written by a 9 year old. Maybe they should get some professional writers, ie people who know what they're doing, rather than going on a script written by Lucas.

Let me make one thing clear, I like the post-empire canon, all the comics and novels have really fleshed things out, what my concerns are, is the fact that they will frack it up somehow!

It's probably Lucas himself spreading rumors to kick up some shit. Lord knows he doesn't actually need to be good at writing movies, since he more or less owns everybody's souls. However, as much as I hate the star Wars prequel movies, I must say that Star Wars Legos are some of the best sets produced by Lego.

I think he should do it. He's already hated by so many he has nothing to lose. Besides, the parodies and angry internet articles will make it worth the pain and suffering.
