This just in: George Lucas wants more money. Again.
No way man? Shit, I thought people made films for the lolz!

OT: I'll probably be the first to say this, but sweet, I like star wars films, bring on some more. People treat it like some kind of holy thing, to be worshipped, and not defiled. Chill out guys, they were some pretty good films, nothing more.

The whole "Clone Wars" thing bugs me so friggin much. Why is so much emphasis put on a period of time that lasted what? 3 years tops? I really wish they'd expand more on the time between Ep 3 and 4 :) (The Force Unleashed DOES NOT count!!)

OT: I dont know about this...I'm a bit indifferent. The last thing we want is something like a retelling of the original Star Wars. But at the same time I dont see why Lucas would bother with this unless he's that broke which I doubt.

What? WHAT? No. I can get myself excited about the 3D releases but new Star Wars movies? Though I enjoyed the PT, they were not as good as the OT and imagine if these aren't as good as even the PT. They'll suck so badly! The only good thing is that they'll un-cannon all those terrible novels. Of course this is assuming that this is true. I hope it isn't.

Let's face it - the fandom deserves it.
They've been buying toys, legos, costumes, games, books, comics and so forth for decades and I'm sure as hell the cash hasn't stopped flowing. Whatever you hate or love the new trilogy know - your willingness to support the franchise caused this.

The prequel trilogy might not have been perfect, but they were still enjoyable, especially Revenge of the Sith. I'm looking forward to this, if just for the reactions from the fanboys.

As long as Palpatine doesn't resurrect himself (which was what finally turned me off all those expanded universe things set after episode 6), I guess I'll give it a look

ouch, lucas would be nearly 80 going 90 by that time...I suppose the question would be if he could live long enough.

He gave his wife the scripts as an anniversary present and said he wouldn't touch them unless she gave him permission because of how upset she was at how much time the movies took of his life. I doubt she folded so quickly. This is probably wrong.
He needs to touch the scripts of the old films to make a new one?

Who wouldn't want to see more Star Wars movies? I just hope if they're being considered, they're letting other people write and direct them; Lucas can step in as a consultant and have the final say, but I don't trust another movie by him, not after the prequels and "Crystal Skull." *Shudder*

I was about to scream NOOOO! at the top of my lungs but if it's way in the future and not related to the current storyline then maybe he came up with something new and original. This might not be bad, I'll give him one more chance to redeem himself.

What Lucas needs is people who actually challenge his ideas. Thats what made the original trilogy so good.
Rick McCallum struck me as a bit too much of a Yesman which lends credence to your argument. I do like the idea of continuing the series but this is nothing but a rumor, and until something concrete surfaces nobody should invest into this.

It's as if a million fanboys cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
