Well hi there! I'm a Tauren! I've been a playable Horde race since WoW was released in 2004! And obliviously you will noticed I'm completely covered in fur! Just like the Worgens...
Sorry to inform you but bull/cow people cant touch werewolves which is where the problem starts.

And on another note the Horde used to(if the reports are true) have a perfect streak of getting the more outcast races with questionable ethics but goblins seem a little to... normal for the horde.

I think the whole idea is ridiculous to begin with about these masks. Sure, that's how we found out about the BC races, but I refuse to give into any wildfire hype until Blizzcon announces it.

If this were true, however I'm not impressed. This is just a gimmick. It's not needed and is only directed at new players (who will be intimidated by 90 levels) or old players who already have 6 80's and need a new gimmick to do it all over again (like my addict friend who swore off any other pc game or console for WoW entirely) and they were going to stay playing anyway.

The BC races were both a little awkward and lore-bending, but they were needed! Blizzard themselves have said that they needed something to give paladins and shaman to both sides because instance design was too hard to balance for unequal factions. As far as we know, the new races bring nothing to the table. And if they were to bring a new class then that would further complicate class homogenization and armor disputes.

If this is the real course that Blizzard has decided to take, then it's confirmed my own musings about the future of the franchise. World of Warcraft has reached its critical mass. That it's expanded so far that the creators are grabbing at straws to try and keep the audience captive and paying. If you look at Death Knights, T9 armor, and the Call of the Crusader instances, and now some hard lore-rape forcing neutral races to uncomfortably take sides? They've run out of ideas. They're just trying their hardest to trickle-feed content to the raging mobs so they don't wake up and try something new.

Sure I'll keep playing myself. I'll still raid with my guild as I am able. But the shine, polish, and unique immersion that the game once possessed has evaporated. Gone is the adventure, the epic, the odyssey, all to be replaced with the unshakable feeling that you're now a slave to the cash cow.

China doesn't allow the depiction of violence towards Panda in any media, so as long as many of WoW's users are in China, Blizzard can't have Pandaren. I was hoping China might ban WoW, actually, Blizzard doesn't lose all that much cash and we can have Pandaren! And besides, we have a ninja class, thank you very much, and i'll be shanking you for suggesting otherwise.

Speak for yourself. You need to mix up your playing style, enjoy the experience, I think you're bogged down in routine and, well, that'll strip the wonder from anything. You should try something new, something you haven't done before. You know what you could do? You could try a new and exciting race, along with their new quests, areas and lore. I hear we might be getting some of those soon.

And to be fair, saying these races are neutral is a bit... paranoid. Goblins have been unofficialy horde for years, hell, they were originally Horde to begin with. As for the worgen, Gilneas opening up and releasing its fuzzy beings onto the world isn't lore-rape, it's a new chapter. What would you do if you opened your doors to find undead, orcs, vampires and savages all around you killing off your old race and their pals? Especially if the undead are in close proximity happily gutting Worgen?

Yeah.

The only problem might be Roidrage McBigchin and his Xenophobic issues. I still have hope that Thrall will stomp his inflated head into a mush before the next expansion, which would make the whole process easier. Damn Thrall... why does he have to be such an awesome guy?

goblins? as a former horde member i must say that sounds sad, the alliance gets werewolf's and they get smaller orcs.

on the other hand the female werewolf's will probably look like something from weird pron, so yer small orcs sounds slightly better.
Aside from the fact that goblins had been part of the horde since warcraft 2, making them the second oldest horde race after the orcs.
They also built orgrimmar, or at least the leader of rachet says they did

Worgen engineers will be able to get a race-specific recipe that lets them make flying doghouses. They'll be worth playing, if only for the Snoopy references. And the claws.

Ah, werewolves, awesome.
I've always wanted to walk up to a horde member and go "you're a puny girly man".

wow...really? this is the best that they could do, goblins and werewolves? i mean i know blizzard is trying to beat the dead horse with a sledgehammer, but i mean if you're gonna add a new race, go with the Pandas from Pandarea and pick what side they're on. Both races and make Pandas then decide what faction they go to. goblins and werewolves, pathetic.

That's pretty obviously not going to happen. For one, they'd have to come up with a whole new goblin Cartel and a reason why they're hurting profits by exclusively hiring out to the Horde (right now, the only two Cartels in-game, Steamwheedle and Venture Company, are neutral and hostile respectively to the Alliance and Horde). For two, worgen are werewolves. That means players who pick Worgen would be playing Humans during the daytime hours, and Worgen at night.

Let's not forget the sort of damage this will do to roleplay servers by validating all the wannabe goth kids in high school who think Vampire: The Masquerade is the pinnacle of omgawesome tabletop roleplaying.

This is just my opinion but i think there should be a neutral faction.
It would be like you pick Goblin,Panderan,Worgen etc. and then you can do quest to get horde or ally reputation. I know it may sound dumb but think about it, Goblins fighting goblins and pandas fighting pandas, Pandas on kodos and elephants. i think it might be a good idea but thats just me.

Ok, long post ahead, so TL:DR, I love it. I'm kinda glad that the Gnolls aren't playable because otherwise there'd be about a thousand people claiming to be the Son of Hogger running around. And seriously, we don't need that. Anyway, Worgen are an interesting race, maybe they'll coincide with the Night Elves. Goblins used to be part of the Horde in the Second War, left to become neutral (and maximize profit margains), and now they're coming back, which leads me to believe they're another faction of goblins, not Undermine entirely. Maybe they'll be part of the Venture Company. But seriously, MMO-Champion doesn't bite, y'know. I've known about the speculation for some time.

That said, it's time for "Berate the posters before me!"

Great, furries. Now everyone from Second Life will join the alliance.
They're already there. They play Night Elves and cyber with other people in Goldshire. And the Deeprun Tram.

And the people who won't stop bitching about WoW continue to ***** about WoW.

The_Oracle said:
And yet another reason for me to rejoin WoW is revealed. I'm more interested in the goblins than the worgen, honestly, but any mention of new WoW races is enough to get me interested. I'll have to keep an eye on this one.
What he said. I've been wanting to see Goblins become active for a good while now, so I'm excited by this. Plus, maybe we'll see a renewed conflict between the Steamwheedle Cartel and the Venture Co.

AceDiamond said:
And still no Pandaren.

And yes, a joke race of pandas is the only thing that would make me consider playing WoW.
With all the bitching coming out of China regarding WoW, I'm not surprised the Pandaren aren't in there. I'm sorry but China's got this thing going where if it exists there, you can't talk shit about it or you get added to the government depopulation list.

Aku_San said:
I'm not a furry, but I think that a Worgen would be a pretty cool race to play as. Also: Goblins finally playable, eh? I like it!
If the Worgen are becoming playable, they'd be the third alien race on Azeroth that players can play as. The first was the Orcs (they are from Draenor, AKA Outland) and the second was the Draenei (originally from Argus, then Draenor). The Worgen are from...I don't know. I gotta read the quest text more closely.

still, being a werwolf would be pretty badass

People enjoy playing the game. Blizzard makes content for the people who enjoy playing the game to play in. Eventually, they'll run out of content, which is when WoW will be over. I'm sorry, but as long as there is a player base, WoW will exist. Ergo, your argument that WoW is over the hump because 'it just is' is flawed.

DannyBarnes said:
is it me or are the new races just
shrek and the other woman shrek (dont know her name)
the big bad wolf and some random fox lady
wtf is going on lol did they let their 5 year old nephews pick the new races
First off, your literary workings are atrocious. Second, if I had to take a rough stab, I'd say the Worgen are not only getting a female model (much like the Ogres need), but they and the Goblins are getting a model update. Both races exist in the game already, however they are currently not playable.

Blood elves are high elves who used fel magic. High elves are the remnants of the Highborne, a sect of the Night Elves and among Queen Azshara's loyalest and favored followers before the...y'know, this shit gets bananas, read this for the specifics. [http://www.wowwiki.com/High_Elves]

That and they were part of the Horde in the Second War.

And that the New Horde (the one led by Thrall) has a lot of Goblins working for them, including a taxi service of Goblin Zepplins run by Goblins and manufactured by Goblins.

Well, they're from another dimension at any rate, they've escaped both from use of the artifact know as the Scythe of Elune and from dimensional experiments by unscrupulous wizards, the aforementioned Arugal being one of them.
