Is it odd that I'm concerned about why Amy's(Sailor Mercury) hair is dark green instead of dark blue?

YOU CAN'T HAVE HER!
Er--I mean--yes. That is a reasonable question to consider. *cough*

sorta had a fictional crush on her back in the day...

Is Sailor Moon still relevant?
Was it relevant at all to begin with? It never got as big as Dragon Ball(Z, GT, XXX, GPS, whatever...) did it?
I don't think it's still relevant on the whole, but I'd say for American anime fans aged about 18-25, it was definitely relevant when they were kids. For a lot of us, it was one of the first anime series we ever watched -- it came on right before Dragonball Z back in the days when the first season of that was airing on local tv. I think it was the WB, and while I can't be certain about that, I know it came on early in the morning, somewhere around 5 or 6 AM.

OT: This sounds interesting. I can't say I'm too interested in magical girl series these days, although if this creates enough of a surge in popularity of anime to get the medium back on American TV, that would make me happy. Bonus points if it makes magical girl anime popular enough for Magic Knight Rayearth to get a TV run over here.

I wondered about that, too.

Sailor Mars FTW!

(Yeah, sue me, I have a weird taste)
You don't at all, she was always my favourite... if you want to talk weird, I still have the very first run of the figures (the normal ones, not the action ones) for Sailor Mars from Japan. Never opened it (I was a geek, loved NRFB haha).

But this sounds awesome. I always love when a childhood memory seems to suddenly become popular in another country.

I even remember when I went to Cyprus last to see my then boyfriend out there, and as I was perusing a normal tourist gift shop, I found Cardcaptor Sakura stickers. I was well surprised.

Definitely haven't got the VHS or the stickers of Sakura either.

Or the Sailor Moon RPG.
If this is a misleading statement so you can throw me off of the scent of you owning some awesome memorabilia then...

I'm definitely jealous.

Haha!

I had to sell a lot of my stuff, but I kept my japanese box sets for Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R, then got the MVM thinpaks for S SuperS and then imported the Sailor Stars.

Screw it, I'm not ashamed. I was 7 when I first watched it. I deliberately keep it because its something I want my girl (if I ever have one) to watch when she's little so she can have an over-active imagination!

I tried for so long to find an uncensored version of the show because it was the first show to make me realize I was into anime chicks.

I owe alot to this show.

Nothing weird about it. Moon Prism Power all the way! Ah, childhood memories...

Please come back to the United States. The DVDs all went away before I was old enough to have a job and buy them. PLEASE!

I, as an Italian, don't really see a need for this... Italian teenagers grew up watching manly stuff, like Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star)!
Irrelevant bits (after reading the press release): apparently you can customize the sailor's costumes, and it describes every sailor's special ability in detail... This is gonna suck.
BTW, the title means "Sailor Moon: the Moon Shines" (duh).

Actually, certain anime had a surprising amount of popularity over in Italy because, well, more dedicated voice actors for one, though, as far as I am concerned they have sinned greatly. Why, you may ask?

Well, they translated pretty much the entirety of Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), which is a plus, but they assumed it was for children, and so, offended by the levels of volence (which was minimal compared to the manga), they demanded they be allowed to rewwrite the script as anything they wanted. They rewrote it into the most pun filled thing ever. They desecrated the Marquee action anime.

It's actually funny, though, beause they probaly got the censored version of Sailor Moon, and not the one where Sailor Moon rams a Sword through someone elses chest.
