Actually it does. It only depends on bad the fuck up is or isn't. Not all fuck ups are created equally, but most leads to the same results. No one with actual sense wants NFTs, and a majority of gaming audience proved that. The only reason certain companies or rich assholes are still trying to push them, is because of pathetic delusions, or know they are in to deep wasting all of their money, and trying to find any sucker willing buy without any thought.
Still when EA can survive multiple gaffes like that and create a toxic environment. Volition can get away with it since customer satisfaction doesn't matter in today's market

EA is its own entity at this point. I don't care for the shit they sell and have not been interested in over a decade now. Anything product of theirs, I got second hand or was given to me. Also, the new Madden is shit and not even the NFL pro players are batting up to its defense.

As usual your full shit, and you know it. We're done here, because I am not wasting the rest of my Sunday talking to you. Don't bother responding back with anything else.

I was pleased, it was what I exactly expected from modern gaming and unless the aysayers can make their own in your face game they have as much power as downtrodden outcast. Absolutely nothing except the smug gloating about "go woke, go broke" when the industry has become thoroughly insulated from commercial failures just because it wasn't pandering to the equivalent of smokers.

Look at what happened with EA and how they survived lootboxes and a shitty mobile game that lived longer than most mobile games despite having nothing going for it. And this is the same thing with the reboot of Saints Row, the consumer opinion doesn't manner
The consumer's opinion does matter... and the entire issue is that those that give a damn that they're doing these things haven't been the audience that these companies have been catering to for a long LONG time. Video game companies keep pulling this crap and getting away with it because the people who buy into this garbage and don't care enough to complain if they even notice far far outnumber the people who don't and do complain. The video game industry has to really REALLY badly screw everybody over in a way that even those many more people sit up and take notice before any of those companies actually cares about the complaints. Even then, they just try to justify their terrible practices then eventually make an insincere apology before going back to business as usual. It never results in any real lasting change to the industry as a whole and really the industry possibly even the same company just end up pulling the same crap on another game later on when people have stopped caring and can't be bothered to outrage again.

I wonder how long it's going to be before EA pulls the lootbox crap again and it gets through with a barely a grumble from the video game community at best.

That is implying anyone can be bothered to care anymore and anyone can do anything about it. Late stage capitalism, making sure your wallet vote is rigged.

YES!!! Why does video game after video game keep doing this? You would think after Navi oh... almost 25 years ago the first lesson every game developer from then on would have driven into their heads with a sledgehammer was: "don't annoy the everliving hell out of the player!"

They keep doing things like this. Having someone in the game constantly badger the player over and over every few minutes until the player does what they want... and then badger them about something else afterward. It's even worse in open world and sandbox games where the player wandering around doing whatever they feel like as the core point of the game. Sure, put in some bowling minigame if you want. Just never all but put a gun to their head and make them play that minigame! It should be something they do because they want to, not because they all but have to.
Having just played through Spartan: Total Warrior, being badgered every few minutes sounds like a fantastic reprieve. That game badgers you ever 10 seconds if you aren't actively doing the thing it wants you to do. Yes, I know you want me to pull the lever, I'm currently trying to reach it but there's enemies in the way, shut up and let me focus!

Time to get this thread back on track, so enough with the self sucking cynicism and nihilism.

Should be nearly through Interval 06, which had a fun bossfight against a heavily armored and weaponized mech in an office space. Really liked being able to duck through doorways and blast at it through the windows.

Made me think of how cool an update of this game would be if the environments were more destructive for these set pieces. The turret things are also fun to dismantle with remotely detonated ‘nades especially in bullet time. Probably one of the better levels in the game thus far.
Wrong thread?

Those patch notes look really really fucking short considering the laundry list of issues the game has. But baby steps are better than no steps I guess.

Exactly why I don't bother with buying a majority of AAA games at launch. I'll quote Civit, "I'm tired of buying broken games at launch!". As said in the title of his Deathloop video review. I know the indie & smaller developers are not immune to this either, but they got it together a majority of the time then the "big boys and girls".

To be fair. And I said this in the review. The Bugs are the LEAST of that games problems. The broken shit is just the shit in the salad, but the game is fundamentally bad in core design concepts and that shit cant be fixed. Even if it was bug free the game would be garbage.

As we all know, it only further proves all of our points. This game shouldn't have been made, or should have just been a soft reboot and take place after IV. And blood in people with actual compititence and not trying to force stuff on things gamers don't like. Nor the dumb "please everyone/not offend anyone" bullcrap.

How would not offending people make a bad game?
The person they're trying not to offend is basically the modern version of Mary Whitehouse in terms of sensibilities but not actually conservative in voting habits just most of their views lol

I had a thought that went back to what they were saying about the game when it was in development. The problem with, and I'm giving a vague quote, "Not punching down" or "Treating people with more respect" is that it can, and often does, lead to losing that jerk camaraderie you can have with really close friends. If you're with a bunch of nerds and everyone there is a nerd and everyone is friends then everyone can make fun of each other. Someone could make a joke about someone else in the room jerking off to porn of anime characters and everyone would be cool with it. The issue with trying to sanitize things is that it can lead to not just take out things that are legit hurtful but also things that would be considered an in joke with friends. I dunno, random train of thought I had about a problem with the humor in the game. From clips I saw, the main problem was it held back too much and too often.
