Guys, I like this trailer too, but come on. It's a big cutscene, undoubtedly made specifically for the trailer, and reflects / expounds upon NOTHING we can expect to see in the finished game. Yawn, wake me up when there's a REAL trailer.

Well, I appreciate your sentiment, which I interpret to be, "Wait for gameplay to make judgments." But I dispute the claim that it tells us nothing. 1)A nod to the co-op revive system and 2)Crazy grapling/martial arts returning. Granted, not a lot, but it isn't nothing.

Also, I have to tip my hat to the choreographer, because when they panned over the guy on the balcony, I thought, Wouldn't it be cool if he jumped down from there. Whatever, that's too out there... Then *BAM* It happens.

That's the Ultor logo. Those guys are from the Ultor Corporation, as seen in Saints Row II. .

Ultor? Weren't they the evil corporation in Red Faction? Good Lord, are Saint's Row and RF in the same univers? What they hell are they smoking at Volition.

Actually I was wrong, they're members of The Morning Star, one of the three new gangs in the game. STAG is the Special Tactics Anti-Gang unit of the government. Regardless; Ultor are indeed in Saints Row and Saints Row II though, so yes the two game series are set in the same fictional universe. This was foreshadowed by The Boss telling Eric Gryphon that Ultor can go to Mars for all he cares at the conclusion of the Corporate Warfare DLC.

An fun over-the-top game? I like it.
The trailer did seem a lot of fun. I haven't played any of the Saints Row games myself, though. I've heard the second was horribly buggy on the PC.
But I'd sure as hell like to try this game out.

That was one of the most ridiculous trailers i've ever seen.

And it was AMAZING.

One problem though. Ghat.

Saints. Need. Ghat. Hopefully i'm jumping the gun like the time I couldn't spot haggard in any of the bad company 2 campaign screenshots.

And if I'm honest, it wouldn't be a game breaker. It's just, well, the guy tried to pull the statute of limitations on mass murder. How psychopathically awesome can you get?

Isn't it funny how things come in waves? In any normal year, I'd call this game a shoe-in for GOTY. But this year it's up against some pretty heavy hitters: DNF, Dead Island, Batman AC, the next Morrowind game, (maybe even Alice?). Against such a line-up, I'm not sure who comes out on top.

You're forgetting the games that have already come out, like Mortal Kombat, LA Noire, and Portal 2. Not to mention you're forgetting Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

It's the gaudy glamorization of 'thug life' and blissfully amoral without the need to be ugly, creepy or without a sense of tact.

Being a fan of the GTA series and hating the 1st game, my hopes where not set so high for 2. And even though it blew me away, i still like GTA IV more. But judging by this trailer, GTA V will have to be brought own by Jesus with free X-Box gold 12 month for me to like it over this one.
