... that's not sexy power armor! That's a mech-themed magical girl. The fact that the outfit has a mouth and is shown to be its own character means that this is a magical outfit of some sort. Also, as pointed out, armor kinda needs to have more coverage than that to be armor and not... well a magical outfit.MrHide-Patten said:

No, No it doesn't.Bara_no_Hime said:Also, as pointed out, armor kinda needs to have more coverage than that to be armor and now... well a magical outfit.
Magic is a power, yes.wulf3n said:Is magic not a power?
Um, no actually. Armor is a solid plating or ring-mail that protects something. It can be made out of various things, but "magical willpower" is not one of those things.wulf3n said:No, No it doesn't.
Armour is simply a protective covering that prevents damage. It can cover as much or as little as it wants.
65 posts before BGC showed up. For shame. Nobody has respect for the classics.Bara_no_Hime said:... that's not sexy power armor! That's a mech-themed magical girl. Or, to put it another way:
That's not sexy power armor. THIS is sexy power armor:
Edit:
Note - I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you for liking the character design from Kill La Kill. It's a neat magical girl outfit (and some of the magical girls in the Madoka spin-offs aren't dressed in much more than that). But that's what it is - a magical girl outfit.
Powered armour simply refers to armour that requires a power source for its protection. Mechanical suits are simply a subset of power armour, they are not its only set.Bara_no_Hime said:However, magical armor is not powered armor. Powered armor refers to a specific mech sub-genre where the mech suits are human sized and act like mechanical suits of full-plate. Iron Man wears power armor.
Kevlar is neither a solid plate or ring-mail but it is still armour.Bara_no_Hime said:Um, no actually. Armor is a solid plating or ring-mail that protects something. It can be made out of various things, but "magical willpower" is not one of those things.
It would be practical with some shin guards. Seriously, that girl showing off her ankles like that can get stoned for indecency in some some countries.Necromancer Jim said:

OT: Whatever your tastes OP. We can say it's juvenile, but at the end of the day, so long as it isn't child porn, draw what you like!
As far as female armour goes, the Sisters of Battle do pretty well, they're pretty much in third place behind Femshep in her default armour and Samus. Yeah it's a corset, but at least the rest of her is properly armoured. And considering the hyper exaggerated setting, it's a miracle that the SoBs are actually so conservatively dressed. And lets be honest here, the day a female gets a non breasted chest plate is the day I eat my hat.Soviet Heavy said:If stupid looking power armor was a sin to like, then I'd have quit liking Warhammer 40K long ago. Marines get brick shithouses, while Sisters of Battle get a space corset. Despite that, it still looks like armor. Must be the pauldrons. They make anything look like armor.
I am not sure what's the fuzz about using the word armor himesama, the wiktionary says that an armor is "A protective layer over a body, vehicle, or other object intended to deflect or diffuse damaging forces.", so if a bikini effectively deflects or diffuses damaging forces, ain't that an armor?Bara_no_Hime said:... that's not sexy power armor! Except in the anime, she'll somehow shrug off a ton of damage, despite her incredibly flimsy attire. You know, just once I would like to see an anime/JRPG that kicks off with a character with an outfit insanely impractical for battle wielding some ridiculous weapon heading into battle and we think this is going to be the main character until moments they unexpectedly drop dead. Cue reveal that they have just been taken out by a sniper over 2km away. That's what you get went you enter battle dressed like your going to a cosplay gathering.SonOfVoorhees said:Exactly. One bullet to the stomach and she is down. Kinda makes all that armour pointless as its just slower her down, might as well not wear it with such an obvious target area to aim for.Daystar Clarion said:Doesn't armour have to...
You know. Armour a person, to be considered armour.
That isn't armour, it's a pandering sexual fantasy.
Well, you must remember that those are just the sisters that are armored (and the corset is mostly an aesthetic thing; it's still totally as protective as the rest). The repentia aren't really.... well, clothed. At all. Purity seals dont count. But at least 40k has the decency to keep the clothing consistent within the lore and not without reason (i.e. the repentia aren't clothed because they're kinda supposed to die in battle as penance for some prior mistake)elvor0 said:As far as female armour goes, the Sisters of Battle do pretty well, they're pretty much in third place behind Femshep in her default armour and Samus. Edit: shit. Halo 4. Forget I said anything!
