I really hope this is good. It sounds like a dark soulsy brawler which i dont think i want.

When it comes to brawlers i kind of like the badass fantasy of being able to beat the piss out of everyone in my way. But the age mechanic really seems like there might be tuning issues with difficulty. And it also makes me wonder how long the game is. Because it is like 50 bucks so does your age only effect the current stage or are you expected to complete the whole game within the limit of however many lives the age system gives you?

So many questions.

The continue system does not work anything like Dark Souls from what I've seen. Start watching some videos.

I do feel like the movie is kinda spoilers though. right?
Not really. While the game previews kept it a little more vague, the developers outright admitted that it was just your basic revenge story (the name of the main villain is mentioned in the first stage for the demo of the game). Not much is really spoiled. There are plenty of other characters involved, instead of just that one guy that was mentioned. Plus, I am mostly here for the gameplay, but I do not mind the setting, the story, and the character designs. Also, revenge and martial arts movies go together like white rice and soy sauce.

Check the gameplay videos I posted on the thread. Especially the one that involves no death. There's a whole bunch of crazy tricks you can do.

Actually i'm trying to avoid watching videos so that the game itself will surprise me.

Well Sifu is getting pretty solid reviews, though I've seen more than one outlet complain that it's hard, but the biggest problem is that the game is broken on Playstation in the sense that you cannot download it.

Pre-ordered folks were supposed to be able to play the game today, and the game should have pre-downloaded onto consoles two days ago. However that is broken, the game says it's ready to download on my system and NO playstation players can play the game. Early access was a Premium perk for PS5 and deluxe edition buyers and nobody can play it.

The devs have been aware that the pre-load has been broken for days and they've not been able to fix it. So that's kind of a bad look considering nobody will get their ten bucks of early access money back if this doesn't get resolved very soon. I'm not exactly bothered too much because I didn't pay extra but those that did, well they are complaining on twitter already.

It's a good thing I decided to wait and did not pre-order. Looks like I'll be buying this on Tuesday. There goes my Sunday of playing this game. Oh well, I'll keep myself busy with some other games. I'm good...

To be fair, if they dont fix the issue (which they've addressed a couple days ago so they've been trying) by tuesday. You wont be playing it either unless you're playing on pc.

The Standard Edition, not the Deluxe, is supposed to come out on Tuesday for PC, PS5, and PS4. So I'm assuming the issue we taken care of by that point. I'm also assuming and hoping, it's a problem with the Deluxe Edition. I'm not getting the PC version.

As for the reviewers complaining about the game being too hard, I I'm not paying them any attention. Feel free to tell me which reviewing outlet, but I honestly don't care. I can handle God Hand just fine. I died a lot in that game too. Died 89 times on my first playthrough. Sifu still looks difficult, but nowhere near to extend of God hand. It looks like the bigger kind of difficulty. If the reviewer(s) are complaining about hard, then they must have never played Ninja Gaiden 3D Trilogy. Or only say the first two games are good just to pay lip service. Which means that I never fully completed it, only did so once and never bothered with the harder difficulties which are even more cheap and bull crap. I have more so referring to Ninja Gaiden II in this regard. They're probably one of those reviewers that go on about how hard the Dark Souls series is and that's probably their hardest experience.

It isn't just the deluxe edition. It has to do with the game coming off the PSN, even the normal edition should be downloading for people as a pre-load but it isn't. Whatever the issue is will lock out all players if not resolved by tuesday, which it probably will be.

Am definitely interested in this. The only thing with Absolver was the lack of any narrative to push forth with for a single player, as the fighting system was impressive alone, but it was kinda alone in that. Also that revenge story...is that a shenmue? It looks a lot like a shenmue revenge story. I shall look forward to many questions about sailors and many more brawls with sailors.

Editium: Almost forgot to add escapist good boi link! (Am patiently awaiting shill cheque to arrive in mail still, but it's fine)
