Rants =/= valid criticism. Plus as a journalist you should know better then to highlight out merely the bad things and end with a snarky comment about mountain walking simulations.
When I said I was the worst student of my year, I meant that. I'm the best video-editor (yes, I'm jealous of your job) they've got, though. That's enough to save me (hopefully).
*raises eyebrow* No sarcasm?
... Surely you learned something about reporting?
No sarcasm. Of course I learned something, I just actively seek to not use any of that on any occasion. So yeah, my teachers can't stand me. The one thing saving me is that I really am good at editing. One of my vids recently got selected to be aired on TV, even.

Technical difficulties are OK with me, but is the writing/story any better than Oblivion?

This is an RPG after all....... but today's "gamers" seem to care more about graphics than about story and gameplay.

Why doesn't a big game have the same polish as a small one? Well if you can do some basic math the answer isn't that far away.
Yes we would like all games to be polished to a mirror shine in every aspect, but the logistics of that for this sort of game are practically impossible.
Even if you somehow get financed for the minimum of 20-30 years to put all the content together the game would haveto be rewritten on new tech and engines nonstop, so who knows what a pile of snowballing shit you would end up with.

And then at the end you get outsold by Madden 729 ... fuck that
If the engine itself is fundamentally faulty, then the size of the game is irrelevant.

If only a few things look bad, then it's a 'not polishing every nook and cranny' issue. If everything looks bad from an engine stand point, it's a 'Built an huge game on a buggy engine' issue.

Compare: Odd NPC interactions (the first kind) with erasing save data files (the second kind).

A large game doesn't excuse universal problems, only inconsistancy problems.

I wanted to just say "Lol" and then walk away but, I wont.

Bluntly stop being a shit stirer, wait the game is out. Because until then opinions like this have no valildity.
If you had read the thread, you could have seen that the game has been released in some areas early.

The local store (I know the owner) got his copies in yesterday, my friend bought it for PS3 (I don't have a console, and on the PC the release date actually is locked because of Steam) and we started playing it without any problems.
I'm pretty sure that's still illegal.

Anyway, with regards to the problems all being the same, I have to let Darth Vader answer that one for me...

What I'm unclear on is the "it's a reskinned Oblivion" when it's running in a completely different engine. Were all the demonstration videos showing different animations merely elaborate hoaxes, and this forum post from Ein is The Truth? Or are you possibly exaggerating a touch?
I'm not. When I shoot someone with an arrow and he flops to death like his bones just got beamed into space (Yahtzee reference) and then his friend starts running at me, getting caught behind a stone pillar yet keeps on running, I'm not exaggerating.

Also werewolves = deathclaws. One on one copy of animation model.

Don't believe me?

Honestly, it probably won't affect me, I was able to get into Oblivion so deep that I didn't even notice all the minor flaws until I started to actively look for them, as long as I can get into Skyrim as easily as I did with Oblivion, this will work just fine for me.

It's not criminal, it's civil at best, only if Bethesda can show they lost money unfairly, and only those Bethesda signed a deal with not to release are culpable.

The OP has nothing to do with any of that.

At the end of the day tho, Elder Scrolls don't sell on their graphics or thier physics engines (seriously what) they sell on your ability to do tons of dumbass shit.

Is it a sandbox? Yes? Then it's what I expect and want.

Iunno, I've always liked ragdolls. They cause hilarious scenarios on occasion.

Except in Dark Souls where they are really sticky for some reason. One of them was covering a hole so I thought the ground was solid...didn't end well for me.

Edit: Watched the video. The first Dragon fight was...sad. First a wolf comes up and attacks him randomly (then gets killed by the Dragon), the Dragon's fire does shit damage, and some dude randomly appears out of nowhere and gets him killed because he wanted to start a quest or something.

Edit 2: It seems like Fallout 3 where you can just horde healing items and be an unkillable monster.

How lame.

Some people go into a game already judging it and considering the hype and hate that's amassed, as would happen for a big release like this, I'm not surprised that some-one didn't play it long enough before they made their big decision.

The solution is simple; don't play it if you don't like it, I'm sure there are a million times over the fans who will go into it and love it, no matter your complaints.

I'm pretty sure the fans will love it, considering I did like it myself.

For fuck's sakes why does everyone assume you immediately hate a game when you've got some complaints?

It looks like you have played a bad release of the game ....
Don´t know yet because It hasn´t been released yet and it will be patched on the release day so maybe some bugs you encountered?

If you don't hate it what the hell are you doing on here whining about it?
Tell us it's good features then, if you do actually like it, the question still remains though, if you like it what are you doing sitting here complaining about it?

I think that what you fail to understand is that I would be almost this excited about massive new DLC for Oblivion.

That they have critiques of something they perchased?

Or are we actually going to say something stupid like consumer products you get early are immune to rational critism? He's not an ingrate if he finds fault with something he purchased. That's called being rational.

It's hating on his criticism because he has it and you're envious that is irrational.

I have a hard time believing that it is Oblivion with better graphics. I think it's more likely that you were anticipating a game that was far superior to what it actually is. Take some time to play it, and maybe you can start to appreciate the improvements (if only minor) over Oblivion.

*I have not played Skyrim, I'm going off of what I have seen from it.
