Mildly disappointed, but not much surprised. But I've said before, I'm not at all sure The Fantastic Four is something that can or should be brought into the present day. Serious and quiet (and apparently, dull) is one way to try to fail, but if anything, I suspect a literal translation of its Silver Age-era cheesiness would fail even harder. If don't know if I were Marvel if I would even try to get this franchise back.
Actually, on consideration, I can think of one way to do it- introduce each character separately in different movies (presumably movies centered on other characters) and establish them as competent and interesting characters in their own right, then contrive a reason to unite them.
Because as it stands the basic set-up is a hackneyed "Father Knows Best" nuclear family with powers that sound like they were generated with dice rolls and tables.
("I'm invisible? That's lame!"
"All right, all right, I'll let you roll for a second power."
"Hey! You didn't hear me complaining when I got stretchiness as a power...!"
"And your nemesis gets to roll three times on the major table."
"Aw, man...!")
