Truth is what we make of it. Truth is subjective. To put it simply: "I think, therefore I am."

The truth is defined by whats real and whats not real. But who's to say whats real and what isn't. The infinite possibilities that everything around us, buildings, cars, trees, the internet, YOU, hell even ME, is not real, are impossible to tell. It is impossible to judge whether we actually exist in the form that we think we exist. Life around could have been created by my subconscious mind, or even, that we controlled by some higher, malevolent power.
Therefore, the truth is lies.

In our world, everything that can be proven with logic is true, since logic is basically the "rules of reality".

Everything else is conjecture, no matter how supported by circumstantial or reasonable evidence it is. Logic is the only thing with no room for error. (The irony is that logic is the only thing that cannot be logically proven.)

You want the truth?

I'm a 16 year old guy who's never had a girlfriend, who finds the greatest pleasure in life in slaying zombies and demons. I'm good at school, but never prepare, and have no idea where my life is going. That the truth you were looking for?

Slaying zombies and demons, Hell yeah pretty shitty life, try mastubation, worked for me. Got me through those agonizing, tormenting days alone by my keyboard by myself alone alone alone. Hell yeah , and some good Jim Reeves Christmas tunes might put it all in perspective. Cheer up Sleepy Jean.

Truth is Axiomatic. Truth is NOT subjective. Truth is, by definition, objective and unchangeable. We say that truth is subjective because our interpretation of the truth, our only link to the truth, is subjective. And we pursue that truth with truths lesser siblings of probability, evidence, and confidence.
By the way, this man has succinctly articulated something I've been trying to say for years, kudos, I'll be quoting you.

The truth is written by the winners in history, The truth is the opposite of a lie, but the lie could be the truth all at the same time.

In shorter meanings, It depends who you ask.

Something that is proved by facts.

No exceptions.

If your senses lie to you then what are facts but falsehoods? How can you know for certain that what you perceive is in fact truth and not a misreading of data?
Because I pretty much pulled that out of my ass for the hell of it.

We cannot assume what we know is true, or what they know is not.
After all, we could be wrong.

No-one ever knows what is true. There is only what they perceive to be true. Now, a fair few people would claim (and, in fact, this is how it seems to work) that truth is subjective, and that what the majority believe to be true, must be. After all - "fifty million french men can't be wrong!" -But this in itself is not true, since the minority can be utterly correct(I.E. Global Warming).

So I ask you,Escapists - How do you define the truth?

The only absolute truth is that there is no such thing as an absolute truth. Truth is paradoxical and subject to opinion and constant revision.

So find the lie that you're the most comfortable with and stick to it until something more comfortble comes along.

The truth is what we believe in and what we believe in are just theories that some weird old greek or egyptian dude said and wrote down in some history book.

You do not define truth, truth defines you.
I was going to say just that. Thank you for doing it instead, my good sir.

Adam and Eve were assassins and we were created by an alien race who used pieces of Eden to control us until they were destroyed by a cataclysm event and all religions extend from this one truth.

Also Kristen Bell is hopefully going to sex up Desmond in AC3
