We had an important trial in this nation a few months ago. Prominant columnist and blogger Andrew Bolt was ordered to stop writing about issues of racial self identification. Opinion was split, with some people agreeing with mr. Bolt, some disagreeing with him, but also disagreeing with the court order and some claiming that the court was right in its decision. No matter what side you come down on, it seems that while asking if ethnicty is something you chose or are born with is verboten, demanding that those who insult one religions sensibilities be beheaded is perfectly all right.

Okay, so a few protesters means Australia hates America. Gotcha OP.

Worst washrooms ever.

Most of Australian film and television broadcasting comes from American studios, they even watch contemporary American television shows such as Oprah, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Conan O'Brien Presents, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Mythbusters, Soap operas, Sitcoms, Cartoons, Dramas, Detective and Crime shows. They even follow the affairs of celebrities with the same frenzied vigor as any American fan.

Australian culture is the hybridization of British colorization, American independence, and Paul Hogan. Most of their broadcast and purchased film, music and literature is directly imported from the U.S. and U.K.

The Australian Army and Military services have always supported America's interests.

The only thing separating Australia from America is its accents and geographical location. They can't all hate America if they keep inviting American celebrities to their conventions? There all get back home no worse for where... right?

Its not Australia that hate the US, just the Muslim community at the moment. They were going bonkers last weekend apparently. I'm quite sure its all going to blow over.

I am getting so tired of seeing muslim lunatics in the news every time I go on a news site. We've been tolerant for years, but I'm getting fed up of them being allowed to hate, despise and mock us when we can't even so much as look at them without being called racist. All they ever do is mock our way of life every chance they get when if someone speaks out a sentance against them they use it as an excuse to riot.

Just imagine if we punished them just as much as they us whenever they say something bad about us.

What this person said. I am so sick and tired of lunatics ruining things for everyone else... Makes me wish we could send them of-planet or something... but that's just me.

So basically, now there protesting at U.S. embassy in freaking AUSTRALIA...

So... I ask, what the hell is up with Australia hating us 'Mericans now?
Before I give you my opinion, bare in mind 3 important details of my life.

1. I have lived in America for a short time (6 months). I have American friends. (Who are very intelligent people.)
2. A majority of my friends are very very dodgey Eastern-Europeans.
3. This view is formed from what I see and read, as well as hear from my friends.

We've all hated America for a very long time. '...hating us 'Mericans now', only the 'now' really surprises me. It's been there for a long...long time.

but that's besides the point in regards to the article.
I don't know why the wogs are attacking. I assume they've had beef with you guys ever since you decided to invade their country. I reckon it's pretty ridiculous. If they don't like the system, either move to a country with the appropriate system, live appropriately to your chosen system (no system I'm aware of condones destruction and rioting), or go through appropriate channels to try and change the system.

And I highly doubt a bunch of protesters speak for the whole Australian population.
I'd like to thank you for assuming that, Not all of us are crazy. The crazy ones show up to the protests.

Because clearly everyone who lives in a country thinks exactly the same way. There are never any dissenters in a country who make their difference of opinion known through public protest. That just can't happen; we all agree on everything with everyone even vaguely associated with our country.
Uh weren't you guys invited to the big meeting where we decided our collective stance on everything?
What? There was a meeting for that? I was at the one where the meeting was first announced but I was sick for the second meeting where everything was finally scheduled. Crap! Now I have to report for reprimand and can't use the handshake for three whole months! Everyone will know ... damn it. Two more strikes and I'M deported. I've already been to re-education once before.

Well, fortunately, the usual racist bigots have been SMSing each other (like they do) and they are planning to attack the next protest, so that's one riot each.

Every country has its sane people, the difference being in proportions. It's the crazy ones that make the news and give the country a bad name.

That's because it makes better news.

Hahahaha. So because a few crazy Islamic extremists violently protest outside an American embassy (like what has been happening all over world because of that film), it means we as a nation hate America?

If anything I'd say we love America a little too much. Your culture is massive and well loved over here.

Yeah as an Aussie lemme just say that the Muslims doing al the violent riots don't represent Australia.... Thats like saying the KKK represents America's opinion of all other races.

I even know a few people who are muslims and they're embarresed aswell as angry about how they all cop the blame for the way those thugs in Sydney are acting.

People with hate in their hearts and minds will be violent no matter what race, religion or cause they belong to.
This message (in particular the bold) needs to be said loud enough so that the entire interwebs hears it.

Interesting side note on the topic of US/AU relations.

Ohhhh....kaaaaayyyy.......

A group of people protesting in Australia means the consensus as a whole hates America?

....nice thinking. You may need to work the kinks out of your theory though.

Not quite. Without special circumstances Australia considers it's 'Spheres of Action' (places they'll show up with guns) to be the South Pacific, Asia, Eastern Africa and Southern Africa. Since World War 2 anytime the US military has been in those areas to ruin someone's day, Australia has also had a military presence.

Oh please. There are already anti-Muslim protests in Australia because of this, I hardly think you can generalise. The Muslim community is pretty insular, just because they can't take a joke doesn't reflect on anyone else in Australia. Even then it's not even most Muslims.

Are you kidding? We love America. Just about everyone I know is either entertained/inspired by something American or British.

Same goes for my muslim friends. They ignored the crappy movie and just focused on the good aspects.

Just as there have been Islamic protests all over the world, there was an 'unsanctioned' protest two weekends ago in Sydney. It got violent, and the riot police had to use tear gas on some protesters. Many of the aggressive protesters had their faces plastered all over the front page of the Sydney newspapers the following day, and 'some' have been charged with affray and other offenses, and some actually denied bail.

It really is a shame that it wasn't a peaceful protest. It has already been condemned by the local Islamic leaders, and they have urged people not to plan any others. What really makes this saddening, is that many of the protesters come from families that have fled to Australia to leave this kind of violence behind, and they are now perpetuating this violence in our great country, and giving Islam a bad name.
