The last elephant is a really good one about the watch, and since most Terry Pratchett books explain everything you need to know, while somehow making it funny, as well as insulting Dibblers sausages, it isnt necessary to read them in order. Plus, Death is in it, and Pratchett does Death really well.Soviet Heavy said:I'm reading "Night Watch" by Terry Pratchett. Please don't kill me, because it's the first City Watch tale I've read. Other than it I've only read the Rincewind books.
Great book indeed.lovest harding said:Neil Gaiman's American Gods.

The Malazan series is possibly the greatest work of epic fantasy fiction (IMHO) written since Tolkien (sorry Martinites; Martin is the better writer though I recommend reading Eslemont's Return of the Crimson Guard and Stonewielder first, puts some of the stuff that happens "off camera" (can't remember what that's called in lit.) in context. Also, the Crippled God is amazing. Totally worth it.Stublore said:Reading:
