You know why that is, because I somehow manage to treat women like complex, individual human beings rather than some collective hive mind of unreasonable demands.
What, really? Whoa, we've crossed the singularity here.

'my music is better than yours because mine doesnt have stupid screaming/isnt whiny and emo/wasnt made by some fag'. i get little idiots who ask me if im a 'mosher' and jundge me about it. just because you dont like something doesnt mean nobody does. and yes, i have had people say the music sucks because the guy who made it was 'a fag'. they were literally using it as an insult.
which is #2: gay-bashers and people who call people 'fags'.
and #3 religion. i dont mind it but keep it out of public/public schools (every christmas everone is called to an assembly with a minister). and even worse, they never get a rabbi or a imam or whatever, they're always Christian.

There's a difference between feminism and people just being nice to each other, you twat. Women are just asking to be treated fairly. I would expect a woman to hold a door for me just as much as a man.
I've stopped counting the times I was faced by near extinction when I opened a door for a woman, or on the other hand refused to do so. There is no consensus in that matter and I don't know which one I should be - your equal or your knight in shining armor?
For the time being I accept my role as a twat.
*cough* wanker *cough*
you sir,i agree with, feminism is wrong, everyone should be treated completely equal and you should only treat a woman you wanna get with and feel something for differently.

Are you trying to say that people have been angry at you for holding the door open for them? I'm sorry, I just don't understand what you're trying to say for most of that comment.

Women don't need a knight in shining armor, they need equal pay and equal rights. Whether or not you're a nice person is your own problem.

Hyper-sensitivity is my biggest pet peeve. Too many people take offense any time they're not taken absolutely seriously in everything they do. To those people I say: "Get over yourself. Learn to laugh when you fuck up. No one is perfect."

Aside from that... yeah, religious fervor and the normalizing of religious convention. Feel free to ridicule me for my refusal to recognize the sanctity of... anything... but know that this works both ways, you're not allowed to escalate to violence when I laugh in your face. Plus, I'm probably better at violence than you.

Polite conversation/small talk with strangers. If we have nothing to gain from talking to one another, can we not have polite silence?

The convention whereby everyone is entitled to their opinion, when the important corollary is forgotten, that one must strive to hold the best opinions they can. "It's my opinion" does not mean it is correct, and if that opinion leads to the harm of myself or others I will try and convince you to get rid of it. Similarly, you do not get to force your opinion on others, while saying of objections, "That's just your opinion." See: childish 'movement atheists'.

Along the same lines, and before the word loses all meaning, the idea that objectivity is both a great thing at all times and in all areas, and that objectivity is best achieved by clashing opposing opinions.

Edit: sexism, racism, ableism, &c. &c. &., obviously. This absurd notion that some people have that political correctness is this evil thing that's trying to ruin the fun of white dudes, dudes that [redacted before I get carried away].

It was mentioned a bit earlier, but I hate small talk. It's awkward and uncomfortable for me. I don't want to go "hmm sure looks like it will be sunny today", but if you don't engage in it then you are considered rude. It saddens me some people seem to thrive off of and think it's so fulfilling to go 'i think it might rain durr durr'. I would rather someone to start a conversation with like so 'what's your favorite animal?' 'what do you think would happen if steam power took off?"

I hate how it's considered okay to just watch tv for hours and hours but if you play games or read then you are considered a loser. I have since graduated college and I still get this nonsense. It's like yeah I really don't watch tv, I spent friday night studying piano. When I was a kid my dad would be annoyed if I played a game for 2 hours, calling me addicted and telling me to turn off game, then he would sit and watch tv for 5+ hours.....

There are larger issues but I wanted to focus more on the little societal annoyances.

Deceptive Marketing: Food ads should show the product as is it in reality. 80% of game advertising should have to be actual gameplay footage. Clothing should be marketed to the fit and obese alike, etc.

Bias media practices: Why do I have to watch 6 different news stations from different countries on the same topic in order to get a relatively clear picture on the reality of a situation?

Societal Expectations: Why are you only successful in life if you have a well paying job and own a lot of things? Why does your opinions and actions suddenly weigh more? "I always wondered in court why it is because a woman is a prostitute, she has to have bad eyesight" JFK.

- Demonized Nudity
- Laws based on religious beliefs such as those surrounding what constitutes marriage

I hate the bullshit behind uni life, if you don't drink, party, cheat on your girlfriend/boyfriend you are a complete social outcast. I'm sorry but if that's what is wrong here I don't want to be right.

Also how much hype people get to being drunk and the glorification behind it. For example using multiple different terms for intoxication and using it as an excuse to be the most obnoxious kind of human being on the planet

Yes, it's terrible that mixture of respect and politeness which is not exactly required of you, but to be encouraged.

In terms of the actual topic... Hmm.

Oh, beards being generally regarded in an unfavourable light, at least in the West.

this, entirely this, though probably phrased more succinctly.

also, people who use unnecessarily long words...
Mates, you are not alone.
Let us stand together against the tyranny of the female race!
***
What is your profession, Men?
* hears screams of little girls*
We'll work on that. CHARGE!
***
DEAR GOD YES!

Do you want to be equal or treated like delicate flowers who can't do anything?
You can't have both...
Not all women are Feminists, and not all Feminists are women. There's a big difference.
Politeness is what it comes down to. Men hold doors open for me, I hold doors open for men.
I think you all seem to have a skewed vision of Feminism...it's more about liberation from social oppression (these days, anyway) than 'I DON'T NEED A MAN!', 'Oh, but now I want one 'cos there's a spider in the bath'.

EDIT: I forgot to post my hated social convention! Sorry :D
I have many, but they largely come down to judging each other based on first impressions. Yes, those are important, but judging because of what someone wears, or that they have tattoos and piercings, and making assumptions about their personalities because of it.

Also! People in shops. The cashier grumpily hands you your change. Well, she must be a *****, right??
Well...what if she's just having a really fucking terrible day?

My latest list;

-Knee-jerk reactions in society based on ignorance or poorly interpreted meanings. i.e. The Daily Mail
-The sense of entitlement of western culture and self-justification of the modern generation. Just because you were born doesn't mean you are owed anything, and "because that's just the way I am, I'm being real/honest/myself" is not a proper justifcation for being a complete arsehole to people.... and stop applying to Big Brother.
- People whose behaviour is clearly hyper-affected in an effort to appear to have a "personality"
-Any media coverage of Celebrities that have done nothing productive for the world that doesn't relate in any way to their "work".
-The complete lack awareness of others in people just walking around. Yes, you and your fat family are holding me up because you decided to stop and figure out where to go next RIGHT IN THE FRIKKIN DOORWAY!!!?

Shame, especially in a sexual context.

I would welcome it when we could talk about sexuality more openly and "deviances" like homosexuality or swinging for example wouldn't be such a bid deal.

still, i agree with the dude i quoted.
Well, hey, if you're not interested in women, ignore them. Me, I dislike men who think they deserve attention if they're not willing to put forth some kind of effort.

I don't think there are any particular conventions that I really HATE--but then I make my own conventions most of the time. No, no, wait, I've got one. I hate having to shave 80% of my body in order to be socially acceptable.

I also hate it when some asshole dies and we aren't allowed to say anything bad about them, simply because it's disrespectful to the family they leave behind.
If they were an asshole, why didn't you say so when they were ALIVE. Waiting until after they're dead is just cowardly and pathetic.

I'm extremely vexed with my current generation for going into the world as a bunch of stuck up assholes who think their cool and better than everyone else with their pants on their knees. I'm tired of hearing the people in my classes sound like total jackasses for no reason at all and all the while the intelligent people are either quiet, or part of the stupidity. Seriously, i know a lot of smart idiots.
I also hate the people who think that boys have to be tough and girls have to be flowers in essence. I like romance and my female friends like a lot of things that make me cringe. That said, I do know some people who are under those categories by nature, I don't mean to start anything by this post.
I hate normalcy, life's more fun being weird!

hey, hey, hey. don't get me wrong. i'm all for women, and i have nothing against chivalry.

the part that annoys me is that some women will perpetually turn down help on the count of being 'independent', then complain that a guy isn't gentlemanly if they walk through a door first...

really, i suppose, its hypocrisy that annoys me

We would like that same respect and politeness back. Please. Most often that sort of "respect and politeness" is not encouraged amongst women towards men, so yeah.............
