Well, they're bastards, but they said it to our faces. Right. Sonic Team must burn! I remember the good old days with SA and SA2:B on the GC. Good times, good times.
I had to look up those acronyms, lol, I feel so lame. I actually missed the Dream Cast (wich is too bad, I wanted ?Typing of the Dead?) so consequently missed those Sonic games. How were they, any good? I was skeptical of the games with the whole teams thing (Team Sonic and Team Dark and stuff). Did they have Dr. Robotnik by chance?
I actually haven't played Sonic Adventure much, but I loved SA2. It was basically play as good or play as evil. Robotnik was on the evil side, but his and Rouge's stages kind of sucked. I actually liked Tails' and Robotnik's stages, but Sonic's and Shadow's were the best. If you want the last example of good Sonic 3D platforming, look to those stages. Fun as hell. I'm getting ahead of myself.

In case you don't know, Rouge and Knuckles had treasure-hunting stages. Kind of annoying, but could be fun. Tails and Robotnik had "lock-on to and shoot all enemies stages." Sonic and Shadow had the classic stages.
Anyway, I loved it. Best part? It didn't have Big the Cat.
It DID have him, just not as a playable character. He was hidden in certain areas.

Yes you would think that they would ATLEAST have spies on gaming sites.

As I've said b4, ppl who complain about the werehog being slow or having to many levels have no right to praise SA2.

And if you played Sonic Unleashed, in the story this creature called Dark Gaia was awakened by Eggman. And Dark Gai is really the main reason why Sonic turns all big and hairy at night (that kinda didn't sound right). ANd at the end of the game Dark GAia went back to its eternal sleep and the Sonic's dark powers went with it.

So I'm pretty sure that they're not going to brig back the werehog and go against the story that much.>_>
I knew this thread looked familiar! Nice necro, man.

The sonic team is digging their own grave, particularly when they acknowledged that their original audience means nothing to them now.

I'm gonna go and play Sonic Battle. That had Sonic beating the crap out of other people and he didn't need excess fur.
And I doubt they'll let you beat up Amy in whatever Werehog game comes next.
I bet it would fly off the shelves if you could, though.

I still buy the games. The reason for that is because they are fun. I think they're fun because unlike all of you "fans" out there I sit down and play it instead picking out every petty change and whining about. Who the hell cares about gimmicks? Chao garden was a gimmick! Another thing I don't do is I DON'T LOOK AT REVIEWS!!!

If he runs around at an abnormal speed collecting rings then its still Sonic the Hedgehog. Stop complaining.

I reserve the right to complain about any game, cause Im the one paying for it.
I also reserve the right to pick out any little change, because the changes are consistently BAD.
And maybe you SHOULD LOOK AT REVIEWS!!! because its expensive to just walk into a game store and picking up whatever has the cuddliest animal on the box.
[small]Smallprint: I have been a "fan" of Sonic since 1993 (I was 3 years old), when I collected Sonic comics and played through the Megadrive games religiously.

Yeah, you know what? Thats why we have awesome things like Blockbuster and game fly so that you can rent them for a small fee b4 you decide to buy it or not. Don't blame Sega for you rushing into the store to buy it before renting it or trying it out first.

And you're telling me to look at reviews? Tell me, why in the world would I want someone to form an opinion for me before playing it? Thats foolish thinking.

You win. I will no longer argue with a superior being.
I assumed that like most people who use the net, you would look at a few reviews to see what a game is like and whether it is worth your time, I mean Yahtzee has millions of fans that apparently take his word on what is good or bad.
But not you my friend.

But we're off topic.
Sonic.
Thats the focus of this discussion.
The topic of this news story is that the next game will have have the Werehog in it.

Now I remember you saying that:
"If he runs around at an abnormal speed collecting rings then its still Sonic the Hedgehog. Stop complaining."
Well what about when hes running about at a slow speed NOT collecting rings and being Sonic the WEREHOG?

Now can I complain?

Hold down R ad he will move faster. And when you get done with the werehog you play as Sonic in the day stages in his normal form (which is why ppl play the game in the first place). And when you beat the game you don't have to do werehog stages. You can just download some more day stages or play the ones that are already in the game as much as you want. But of course some ppl don't know that becasue they listen to reviews who don't really tell about all of the good stuff. They'll just point out one good thing and keep talking about the bad for the most part. That is why I try out the game myself first. :)

Brilliant.
Im still being punished by bad gameplay as I play through the game.
By the way, your talking as if I havent played the latest Sonic games, trust me I have, so I reserve the right to criticize it.

But you win, like I said.
Its obvious that this is an important subject to you, so I will continue to hate every Sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles and we will say no more on the matter.

Cause Im nice :)

My GOD SEGA! What the fuck is up with this bullshit?

I'm not usually this crazed up on developers, but Jesus Fucking Humphrey Christ!

Listen to the god damned reviews, nobody liked the god damn Werehog!

"I don't think that producing the Werehog was a mistake per se, but there were a lot of things we could have done better if we had more time and resources."
No no no no no NO!!! There was nothing you guys could have done to even make the Werehog even moderately enjoyable! (okay, hyperbole, but they really sucked) Pretty much nobody liked them! Nobody cared about them, nobody wanted them! Why do you insist on continuing something that nobody wants?

Stop trying to reinventing the god damn sub-sonic-wheel, stop with your stupid "innovations"/"gimmicks", stop with your new "ideas" and "It seemed like a good idea at the time" crap, stop with making Sonic something he's not, stop with not listening to the actual reviews, stop and think for a second about what sonic was, stop and for Christ's sake just make Sonic run fast!

The public have made it clear! We don't care about Sonic any more, the reviewers have spoken, the fans have spoken, the people who bought the damn game have spoken.

Listen to your fucking customers SEGA!

Jeez, I'm sorry, I'm just getting furious at SEGA right now, or specifically Sonic Team if you want to get technical. Just stop it. Stop it and let the hedgehog die...
As ranty as this was, I agree One Hundred and Fifty Percent.

Wow. That's like:

No.

No actually, not even that, we probably won't get guns. We'll get a sword that can shoot lightning! I'm the only person in the world that hated Raiden MORE in 4, him and his high-heeled ninja shoes...

Call me crazy (this is regarding all the Yahtzee and wanting to kill Sonic jokes).
But don't you guys think your missing to the point of some of his reviews? Like in the Smash Brothers Brawl one where Yahtzee said that it's pretty stupid that you need a Yay or Nay before you buy a game?
How many of you actually PLAYED the game?

Now I like Yahtzee's opinions and reviews, they're a good way for me to get a good laugh every Wednesday. But I also understand that Yahtzee and I have two very different opinions of "enjoyment" despite this if I'm interested in the games I will play it. And I will say that I found myself having fun with Sonic Unleashed, even with the Werehog.

And while I'm not sure if Sonic Team just said they don't care, well you honestly have have all yourselves to blame. (Nit that any of you are special and should think that one company should care about specific people's feelings)
You wanted a Sonic game with better graphics they gave you Sonic Adventure, then you whined you didn't have enough story, they gave you Sonic Adventure 2, then you complained that it needed to be more serious, then you got Shadow the Hedgehog, then you said it was too dark, so they gave you Sonic Unleashed and said that's just too silly.

Now I pretty much lose your attention when I say: I somewhat enjoyed Sonic 06.
Given it was infested with horrendous glitch after glitch and bad game play. Story wise is was fine, the whole bestiality thing is blown way out of proportion (considering your comparing it to a world where walking talking animal like creatures are norm, so forgive them for looking past racial differences... you racists).

But to completely rank on Sonic Unleashed, for what it is, is the reason why critics reviews are shit to me. Sonic Unleashed is colorful, challenging, and (compared to Sonic 06') dead on with the controls. Given you can sometimes go too fast and over judge your jump or decision of direction (again, your fault). But whats the point of a game if you can't die a few times? Given I've died a couple times in each level for over judging but I forgive that because again it was MY FAULT. The game also has the cartoon-ish appeal to it that I've been wanting in a good Sonic game like early when Sonic breaks the fourth wall for a second. Given, yes it has it's flaws with the live system, and the medal collecting scheme and the hot dog missions (especially on Eggmanland) are extremely aggravating. But then again, everything has a flaw here or there.

By the way if you think I'm posting this just because I'm a Sonic fan boy (which is true, I've enjoyed Sonic since Genesis), that's not true, I'm ALSO posting it because I can't stand premature judgment on something that haven't come out yet, you can't see the future, you can't tell if it's going to be bad or not, hell I thought Transformers would suck and I was proven wrong. I thought "Batman Forever" was going to be a great film, I was utterly disappointed.

Yahtzee is the only critic I listen to for ONE reason, he makes me laugh, that's it. So while I'm thinking your all just a bunch of lifeless dolls who do whatever Yahtzee or any popular critic says by consistently calling the Werehog a "God of War" rip off, then by all means, just ignore me, rank me out, hell report me for calling you all lifeless dolls. All I can say is, none of you are welcome inside my cave, and keep your hands off my fish.

Ok Sega, you really want to bring back the Werehog? Fine. But, Let me give you a little advice...hell, HERE'S what you NEED to do in order for the werehog to work. I played Sonic Unleashed, and the werehog levels were a start. Good, not horrible, but they have plenty of room for improvement. It can work. Get a pencil and paper, you're gonna want to write this down.

For the werehog to ever work, you're going to have to make him look VICIOUS. You know the whole "games for all ages" thing you're tying to do? Fuck it, it's not gonna fly with this. As a matter of fact, make it look as little like Sonic as you can. You need to distance this character from Sonic. Make him look like some big, scary mix between a Wolf, a Bear, and a Gorilla...with stretchy arms and massive claws. And he's no longer Sonic. (DISTANCE FROM SONIC)

Now then, the werehog needs to have his own game. No "Dual Worlds" crap, that didn't work. One game of pure God of War-style carnage. Hell, you already have a similar combat system, work with it. By the way, the game HAS TO BE M-RATED. Blood, guts, dismemberment, graphic violence, the WORKS. But, to keep it interesting, throw in some puzzles and bosses. Hell, make all the bosses other Sonic characters. Fans have wanted to brutally maul Tails for years!

Now, if you've been paying attention, Sonic Team, I've basically just told you to rip-off God of War. Yep. That's the point. The only way a character like that works is if he's a vicious-looking monster going on a massive killing spree in Hi-Def blood-and-guts-O-vision. I mean, that was the point, right? The werehog was SUPPOSED to be bad-ass, right? WELL IT WASN'T You can't make a thing like the werehog PG! It's gotta go out there and bite someone's head off in the goriest way possible! NO MERCY! NO EMOTION!...sorry, lost my train of thought...

There you go, Sega. Now make it happen! I want to see "BearWolfRilla Kills Sonic and His Friends" is stores by Christmas! MOVE IT!
