How the FUCK is Sony handling this so bad? It took a week for them to realize we had all our info stolen? Jesus christ guys, how does this even happen to a major company like them?
It's reasonable.Thedek said:Fan-fucking-tastic.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to sue Sony for not being more prepared for this shit.
Then it hit me.... maybe that's the point. Maybe somebody, possible anon not not necessarily, hacked PSN, to get all this information not to actually ID steal and such, but to get all the PSN users so freaking pissed at Sony that a massive bunch( or a big collective one, either way) of lawsuits kick Sony in the teeth as sort of a "Take that!" for stuff like the Geohotz shit?
Or is it just my paranoia kicking in and it's much more simple?
I mock people who say "it doesn't hurt anybody" then turn around and fling shit as soon as things look like bad for them.NaramSuen said:This is a little harsh. Innocent people have had their personal information stolen, are facing potential real world loss to their pocketbooks and you are blaming the victim! What do you do for fun when you aren't here, hang around police stations mocking the people who have been mugged or attacked?Custard_Angel said:SNIP
Yes, that was supposed to be implied. `I don't have a PlayStation, much less a PSN account,' I guess I should have saidblind_dead_mcjones said:don't you mean a PSN account?
What if that guy had been selling space in his house for others to use as storage but skimped on locks, fired the security guard and replaced him with a chimp in a uniform, and even had that random guy on the street who tried to warn them their house was open to attack arrested?Damien Granz said:Goodbye Hactivist credibility. Edit: I don't blame Sony for the same reason I don't blame a guy who's house is broken in for not happening to have a magic unburglarable house.
I have nothing to add to the metaphor, but your avatar is perfect for this kind of statement.Emergent said:What if that guy had been selling space in his house for others to use as storage but skimped on locks, fired the security guard and replaced him with a chimp in a uniform, and even had that random guy on the street who tried to warn them their house was open to attack arrested?Damien Granz said:Goodbye Hactivist credibility. Basically, the guy rented his place and went "You guys can have the key to the den so you can take some cookies we baked for you, free of charge." and somebody went and re-purposed the key to steal everything in the house. Then copied it infinity times. Then everyone complained cause the cookie jar was taken away, as if it was totally part of the storage place when it never was.Emergent said:What if that guy had been selling space in his house for others to use as storage but skimped on locks, fired the security guard and replaced him with a chimp in a uniform, and even had that random guy on the street who tried to warn them their house was open to attack arrested?Damien Granz said:Goodbye Hactivist credibility. How is that remotely like what happened? I'm totally serious here, I'm not seeing the connection.Damien Granz said:Basically, the guy rented his place and went "You guys can have the key to the den so you can take some cookies we baked for you, free of charge." and somebody went and re-purposed the key to steal everything in the house. Yeah, OK, you can say the guy was naive for trusting us, but if that's the message we as a community are putting out, then I stand by my message when I say "Goodbye Hactivist credibility.".
