Sony, quit your bitchin. Just face it, you have a wonky system to program for, and you are unwilling to pay for better exclusives. ALL of your exclusives can easily be played on the 360, so it really is just your inhouse brand that is selling the system.

Not gonna stop me from buying a PS3, there are those few exclusives I want to play, but for everything else, why wouldn't I just use the 360 I already have. If Microsoft wants to throw around it's money to get games I want to play, then I will play their system.

Microsoft: "What was that? I'm sorry, we didn't hear you because of how much money we have!"

Console wars are pathetic enough when it's just between fanboys. Do the big guys at Sony really feel the need to step down to that level?

I'm going to state the obvious at the risk of sounding completely racist... but:

[small]XBox 360: Too big for Japan.[/small]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've got average-to-large size hands among the Americans I know and the Playstation controllers are too damn small. I've got to think that 360 controllers just aren't comfortable for most Japanese users.

Sony needs to realise that this is not kindergarden and start to be more aggressive in their marketing. Stop blaming others for your misfortunes Sony and do something a bout it ya' babies.

and you also have the most difficult system to program for of ALL TIME. While your exclusives are absolutely incredible (love me some Ratchet and Clank), your cross platform titles have major problems like, framerate issues, color contrast issues. I raged when I got assassins creed for it and I saw the 360 version, there was color, the framerate was stable.
I hate to break it to you but the hardest all time would be the Atari Jaguar. Look it up if you don't remember it.

As for the cross-platform remark, it depends on which system the original coding was done. When a game is coded for the 360 and ported to the PS3, the PS3 version suffers.

So the Playstation and Playstation 2's hardcore reliance on the RPG market in general, fueled by an exclusivity contract with Square Enix that only recently expired...
Sony is a little hypocritical here, but Square is a bad example because Sony did invest a lot of money into Square, saving it from certain bankruptcy after the box office failure "FF: The Spirits Within". Square pretty much owed Sony at that point.

(From 2001) http://www.gamespot.com/news/2816880.html

I guess the best example is simply in the way that Sony deals with 1st party devs Vs. Microsoft's 3rd party devs. It's all very similar really.
I didn't mean older consoles, I meant the current gen.

And as I realize that it matters what it's developed on, I've still had issues with 4 games on the PS3. I love my PS3 and all but my point is Sony isn't perfect and they're stupid for calling Microsoft out on their imperfections. All 3 systems have issues.
You're quite right about the 3 systems having issues. Just be careful what you put in caps, (especially when it contradicts your backwards step).

Cheers!
I honestly like all 3 systems just fine, I'm not really one for favoritism, I did kinda get bummed with a few bad PS3 ports and I've learned from it. It's by no means a bad system, far from it, a fantastic system.

Cheers back at ya

I have both consoles myself at the moment, however this is kind of funny as neither company can make the slighest claim to a moral high ground.

Back during the LAST round of the video game wars, Microsoft was complaining about how Sony did things like buy stock in companies like Square-Enix so they wouldn't make games for anything but Sony consoles.

Generally speaking it comes down to the fact that the video game companies want to be able to make as much money as possible by moving as many units as possible. To them exclusivity is not generally speaking a winning arrangement as it only benefits the console manufacturer. With Sony no longer wielding as much pressure as it once had over it's once exclusive companies, they are now unhappy about being on the receiving end as Microsoft is basically willing to prioritize killing the compeition and pay companies as much money as they would make by moving those extra units to release only for them exclusively (as it seems to me).

I don't think the 360 is sony's problem sale wise everyone knows that the wii has been dominating sales since day 1 (ok maybe a little too exagerated) and I own a wii and 360 and I plan on getting a ps3 but it kinda makes me laugh seeing comanies turn into what seem like flame wars you would find on any forum

I did, in fact, think about it myself. Sony has plenty of in-house studios, while Microsoft has Bungie, Rareware, and... that's about it. The question is: why? Yes, Microsoft has some more background with studios developing for PC, but it does not make much sense anyway.

So in short: "Wahhhh, we used to have the best selling system and now THEY do!!!! WAHHHHHH!"

Shut up PlayStation and deal with it. If it's going to 'eventually' overtake the Xbox360 then stop bitching.

PR. Guy is stating the obvious. Microsoft haven't built anything this console cycle, absolutely nothing. Just about every major release they trumpet ends up on the PC or on the PS3 under a slightly different name. Is anyone actually taking about a game that is a must have for any reason that isn't named Halo Reach right now for the 360? Was anybody talking about anything for the 360 alone in late 2009 other than Forza and ODST? 2009 was a particularly dead year in terms of games that came out with an actual buzz on that console. Sony had Uncharted 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Which only served to devalue Xbox 360 exclusivity even more.), Demon's Souls, Infamous, and Ratchet and Clank. Does anyone here actually believe that Alan Wake isn't just a timed exclusive that will end up on the PC soon enough? Who here doesn't think EA is above putting Mass Effect on the PS3 at some point in the not to distant future?

Between my own bout with the RROD, and the purchase of a mid-range GPU that can handle Crysis on just below maximum my 360 has been reduced to a rental box for games I am interested in getting on the PC! With the exception of Halo Reach I can't say that I am remotely interested in anything that is likely to come out exclusively on the Xbox 360 this year so far. Microsoft's strategy is terrible because it fails to create brand identity something that both Nintendo and Sony have, hell even Sega still has it, though their icon has fallen on hard times.

I agree that the Blu Ray drive is Sony's biggest advantage. How many more multiple disk games like FFXIII will consumers (and mainly developers) put up with?
As a gamer who switched disks in Mass Effect 2 without even slightly caring, quite a few, I guess. The only people who'll care about that are the publishers, methinks.

You guys can bash Sony for "whining" all you want, but with Star Ocean International, White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 3, God of War 3, and Heavy Rain ALL coming out in the 1st 3 months of 2010....he's got a major cushion to fall on here. Especially since the 360's only major competition for that long haul until E3 exclusive wise is Mass Effect 2. Then what next? Splinter Cell Conviction as far as I know.

And though I agree that Microsoft using cash to get their exclusives isn't a bad idea, keep in mind that a lot of third party companies put Sony first without the need to be paid.

Konami with the bulk of the Metal Gear Series.

From Software for Demon's Souls and coming in May 3D Dot Game Heroes.

Capcom giving PS3 owners a taste of Dead Rising this holiday.

Quantic Dream with Heavy Rain.

Ninja Theory with Heavenly Sword.

Sega with the Yakuza series and Valkyria Chronicles.

He may sound like he's in a hissy fit but that doesn't mean he's wrong about what he said.

Besides Sony has a long way to go before reaching Aaron Greenberg levels of propaganda.

Sony should be kinda glad their studios are in-house...Valve has made it clear that being newly introduced to the Playstation 3 Devkit is like being given a physics quiz in an unknown tribal language.
Then again Valve's been on the Source engine for 10 plus years now. And source is pretty much ALL C++. Maybe Valve just needs to learn hoe to, oh I dunno, upgrade before next gen. Seriously to not want to learn new coding is stupid, we're in the information age. Why can pretty much every single other third party company make a PS3 game but not Valve?

When will all three companies just go bankrupt and have Kraft Foods make a console?

Kraft Games introduces: The LunchBox, a revolutionary new console that plays top-of-the-line games with amazing and free multiplayer. Also holds lunches.

It'd be pretty sweet. The console could look like an old school lunchbox with customizable covers. How hard would you get playing Fallout: New Vegas on a Fallout Lunchbox?

Meh, hopefully OnLive won't suck when it comes out.
