Activision?

ACTIVISION???

[HEADING=1]WHY???[/HEADING]

And this is coming on the heels over that whole publisher-perpetuated mutiny on Infinity Ward's shipshape studio...

These guys probably surpass EA in ruthlessness seeing as how they'll do anything to hang onto a cash cow and especially won't be happy to see it go...

I love the work Bungie does, but I fear for their employees.

Edit:

I bet this will leave rabid PS3 fandogs confused.

I'm wondering if signing on with Activision is really a good idea, after what happened with Double Fine and Infinity Ward.

Much like you, I'm not overly enthusiastic about the esclusives either. Except, in my case, I care very little for the ones on the 360 - a bunch of shooters...

But now I understand your comment. If you like shooters then yes, absolutely: 360>PS3.

If you like anything else: PS3>360.

Demon's Souls (Best RPG of this gen) & Uncharted 2 alone pretty much clobber the entire 360 exclusive line-up (IMO).

But as I said before: To each his own.
Not all of the 360 titles are just shooter, there's a few good exclusives here and there for both consoles. Though my problem with the PS3 is the lack of exclusive, I use my 360 for most games that aren't exclusive... so I have a ton of games for the 360 but very few for the PS3. I got the PS3 simply because I wanted the exclusive... because for both this and last year you've dominated so far. Though I didn't think any of the exclusive topped Mass Effect 2, though that's just personal opinion... I loved Mass Effect 2. Heavy Rain came close and was the reason I bought the PS3.

As for the news... well having both consoles it doesn't heavily affect me, if it's an online IP then I'll be getting it for the 360 (all my friends own 360's none own PS3's... much to my dismay).

I wonder if there's any chance of some new Bungie games coming to the PC, I'd be interested to try Halo: Reach if it was coming to the PC, sadly I don't buy consoles (Not a fan of the whole subscription online etc style things with the Xbox, and the PS3 is expensive :O)
Oh my god.

I would buy Reach in a heartbeat if it came to the PC.

And wait.. So you're telling me the Xbox has only one true blockbuster exclusive now (Gears of War)? Every other exclusive the xbox has is on the PC, I think. Microsoft is in a pickle.

All right, another quality studio goes multiplatform. I'll be missing out on less even without having to lay down the dough for a 360.

With IW in shreds, Activision really did need some additional manpower under their wings (and some positive publicity for a change).

You might want to dip back further into the conversation before you comment.

Zepren mentioned the PS3 had no good exclusives.
I mentioned that PS3 has an arguably stronger line-up exclusives according to current popular opinion. Zepren countered with a list of 360 exclusives (which were all shooters).

I countered with the response you read and commented on. I never said 360 only has shooters. My point is that a majority of 360 exclusives are shooters (as laid out by Zepren). Yeah, he could have mentioned Viva Pinata, but he didn't. You didn't help the cause much by offering another shooter called Mass Effect 2...
I read the full conversation before I commented. I don't understand what cause you thing I was trying to help with. The vast majority of games are shooters these days, I don't understand what's bad about having exclusives shooters. The 360 has many games that aren't shooters. Well it's a Sunday and I've got nothing important to do so I'll list them.

Well I guess that proves the point of the majority of games for the 360 aren't shooters. I think if you doubled the PS3 games, the scores wouldn't be far off either. I've forgotten the whole point of this post... but at least I've proven one thing. I don't mean to argue with you s69-5, I've read a good amount of your comments while I've been here and I think you make good points and I often silently agree with you. Nor do I want a console war arguement... I think the arguments are ridiculous.

I hope everyone knows that this doesnt mean Halo on the PS3 (as Microsoft still owns the rights to the franchise). Matter of fact their new game will not be "Halo on Steroids" either, its going to be something completely new. Now that doesnt mean that there is not going to be some kind of halo easter egg; which i really hope does appear.

"Yeah, Bungie might be done milking Halo and move onto something new and fresh!"

"Oh, Activision. Whatever."

Not excited... just very interested ;D

Moving from MS to Activision wasn't a great move, it depends how generous Activision is feeling with their deadlines and strict "no fun" policy.

I'm hoping for something like Halo that takes itself less seriously and goes a bit over-the-top.
With some luck it won't have the whiny 12 year old fanbase either that cry when they lose and try to brag about their pubic hair.

I'll give it an honest look but to be realistic i'm not expecting too much.

I'm actually excited, it means that the PS3 just got a jump on MS in this sense, since not having exclusive rights with Bungie means that the X360 and PS3 are once again close to being the same system, so now it's a race to see who still has the best exclusives left...especially since MS has Bungie, but Sony has a slew of small 3rd party developers who have released some hits, Infamous and Uncharted 2 (by others opinions) are just 2 of the 3rd party games that have done well

Looks like MS's money train might be a little light from now on, though Bungie's core fanbase is still probably a 360 crowd so for every 1 PS3 bungie sale MS might get like 5 or so...

I couldn't care less one way or the other, I'm afraid. Since I don't own either and Xbox or a 360, I've never played a Bungie game.
