I wonder if it has 2 memory slots so I can keep saves on one card, other than that the price is going to be closer to 400 than 300...
From IGNs impressions, the touch stuff is optional, it's just there if you want to play it that way. If devs can make games that utilize these new features properly and without much stupid gimmickry or hassle, I'm not too bothered. I'll just be glad if they give us an option to stick with standard controls.Mornelithe said:Agreed, that would be the worst possible blunder in the history of games developing, one I highly doubt Naughty Dog is about to make with an IP as revered as Uncharted (it may be new, but I revere it heh). Just a guess, but I'm thinking the touch screen will be otional use for devs.Spot1990 said:Oh god, please say I'll have the option for regular control in games. I know they have dual anolog sticks and all but I'm worried taht I'll have to use touch screen if I want to play that Uncharted game. I don't like tough screen. I have really shaky, unsteady hands and I've spent about 15 years with traditional controllers, I don't want to have to learn how to game all over again.
Replace "Sony" with "VALVe" or something and that would be considered positive, no? I'm a little confused on what you're saying here, so it's bad to innovate despite taking a few hits? If the PS3 proved anything, it's that Sony is willing to take a punch or two if it means success in the long run.Tom Phoenix said:I realise that. But technology by itself doesn't make for a good product. Innovation only has worth when it is aligned with utility, price and cost. And that is the problem with Sony; they pursue sustaining innovations at the cost of everything else....apparently, including their own financial wellbeing.
One, we still don't know the price point this will have, so I'd say that this argument is moot until more information is given. Two, if their current strategy with the PS3 and PSMove is anything to go by, I'd say they're going for the "Slow and steady wins the race" method right now. Time will tell if it will succeed, but as of right now it's working pretty well with the PS3 and somewhat with the Move. They are definitely pursuing this more smartly than the PSP Go....unfortunately, the fact that they are repeating the same mistake they made with the PS3 shows that they are not pursuing it smartly enough.
You could still probably use a flash drive to transfer your games to the new PSP, therefore it would have backwards compatibility. They already confirmed that the PSP2 will not have a UMD drive. If it cannot run the media used by the previous handheld, it means it is not backwards compatible.
It's not backwards compatible with UMD-only games of course, but the digital PSP games will work on it if I recall correctly.Sniper Team 4 said:So, judging by what was written, can I assume it can't play PSP games? If that's the case, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass. Unless they have some REALLY good titles on it.
He means that we can transfer actual PS3 games to that thing? OR to develop PS3 quality games to the thing?.Logan Westbrook said:He envisioned a future where it would be possible to play a PS3 game, transfer it to your NGP so you could play it while you were out and about, and then transfer it back to your TV and PS3 when you got home.
Maybe he meant 3D with glasses? I don't care for the glasses (I wear glasses normally and I don't like having to wear contacts to get the effect), but I'm excited to see how it looks without them.Mykayel1 said:The 3DS is going to be the most awesome portable system EVER! It has such great graphics (so did the PSP), they ported actual CONSOLE games to it :O (isn't that one of the things you use to hate about the PSP?) and the 3D sounds just awesome! ('Any console that uses 3D is stupid because we don't need such a cheap gimmick. That is why the PS3 sucks and the Wii rules' weren't those you're exact words?)
It might be 250$ bucks, but it's very powerful so that makes it worth it! (Didn't you also say that superior hardware is not as important as a small price tag?)
That is basically a discussion I had with a co-worker a few weeks ago.
Now that the new PSP got announced his first comment was "Huh! No 3D? SONY SUCKS! =))". Does anyone else sense something wrong here? The sad part is that a LOT of people on a LOT of forums agree with him.
And people ask me why I think Nintendo Fanboys are hypocrites.
