It puzzles me, sometimes, that the 3DS and the PSPgo launched (or will launch) with the exact same MSRP and yet got such incredibly different reactions. And I'm not talking about the bits of functionality that the PSPgo lacked that irritated reviewers, I'm just talking about that visceral reaction to the pricetag.
It also kinda shocks me when people call the PSP a "flop". Yeah, 62 million units sold, I can see why Sony wouldn't want to make another one... /sarcasm. Sure, it didn't sell as well as the DS, but that's still quite a profitable slice of the market.
As for this one... It will depend heavily on price, I expect, but with the 3DS launching at $250, that gives them a fair justification to charge at least that much. Much over $300 and I don't see it succeeding particularly well, though.
Of course, Sony could throw down the gauntlet early and launch it at $200, and wouldn't that be interesting...
