Refresh my memory?
The original PlayStation was used with Nintendos Technology. In a way....Sony did NOT create it...Nintendo did.

I wear glasses, but I have to wear the 3D glasses on top of my regular glasses. It's so fucking uncomfortable.
get contacts and quit whining,
PS, im sure you can have custom 3d glasses done if it matters that much to you.

I can't get contacts. Not without my parent's permission anyway. And I never knew you could get custom 3D glasses done. If there was something like that, it'd probably cost a fuckton of money to get it done.

Sony is capable of making no-glasses 3d screens, but the technology works by having a different image displayed for each eye since it's looking from a different angle. On a big screen with multiple viewers, (or even just one), that obviously won't work.

However Sony's butthurt is unjustified, Nintendo can and should point out the advantages in their technology. However Sony should be coming back at them with a challenge to make a 40" screen that doesn't need glasses to view...

besides, all of you people saying that nintendoes technology is better, yes, the nintendo can give a 3d image without need of glasses.
but, you need to be in the "sweet spot" otherwise the quality of the 3d effect and the image itself is compromised. when applying that stuff to a widescreen tv, and more than 1 person feels like playing/watching too.... how do i describe this?
ahhhh, remember when they had those old laptop screens that turned the display all blue or whatever when your head wasnt directly in front of the screen?
i imagine it would be more annoying than that.
and getting rid of the glasses won't nessasarily fix the whole headache problem, people assume its the glasses, but it's actually your brain trying to figure out why it can focus on things at different depths at the same time. perhaps you should do some research.
the reason it works for nintendo is because of the fact that its a handheld console, meant for ONE PERSON, I can imagine you all bumping yours heads together as you attempt to watch avatar on your new NO GLASSES tv.
perhaps do some research on the things your bagging

those can be made, they are just impractical. its actually much cheaper to make 120hz screens than polarised or lenticular lens screens.
people complain that the glasses are expensive, but unless you are running a cinema shutters the cheapest way to go, trust me, I'm a nerd.

They sound like Fox news now. Didnt they say before how they were proud of Nintendo's 3DS?
Nintendo is doing what Sony should do if it wants to sell 3D. MAKING IT BETTER! 3D glasses are the shackles of failure that keeps 3D a gimmick. Once we can make 3D glassessless for everything will 3D be worth it.
I don't see you making any practical large screen 3D tv's.

I don't know why people are so into 3D... Eventually we'll see it so much that it won't be special anymore.

Besides, specialists are saying that prolonged exposure to 3D images will cause nausea, dizziness, drowziness, headaches, strong migraines (technically not the same thing), and many other symptoms. Watching a movie in 3D now and then isn't that bad, but can you imagine gamers sitting in front of the TV for hours and hours with these 3D images and then blaming SONY and Nintendo for their symptoms?

Damn straight. Sony's glasses are light and even attractive, but they still suck if you wear normal glasses, too. That's not their fault, that's just how it is. Glasses over glasses ain't comfy, no matter how nice each pair is.
So then why are we still seeing just glasses. If there is so many of us who already wear glasses why aren't we seeing freaking clips? That is all we need fer crying out loud. They make them with sunglass lenses so we don't have to wear sunglasses over our daily glasses.
An excellent question. It may, perhaps, have something to do with the actual tech involved. Sony's glasses, for example, actually have an on switch right where the arm of the glasses meets the lenses, so there's some tech in there underneath the hood. If they were just clip-ons, they might be quite heavy without the arms to counterbalance them, which would be a different kind of uncomfortable.

And That's not one of the issues. That's something you've had since birth. I don't quite understand your arguement.

To make an analogy: The woman who went to a coffee shop, spilt the coffee on herself, and then sued the shop because the cup didn't say that the coffee was hot.

In short: COMMON SENSE

You think alot of the gamers out there are going to realize "I didn't have a migraine... I played a 3D video game for 6 hours, now I don't... Better not do that again"? Instead they'll get the migraine and blame SONY. Alot of people out there are rather stupid when it comes to that. And how many parents will attack SONY when the same symptoms affect their child.

People won't do the research and they'll fuck up. They'll get angry at the company rather than their own stupidity...

This is going to be another BluRay/HD-DVD or VHS/Betamax thing again isn't it. I hate those. Both sides, however have ignored my Patented solution the stylish, yet functional, 3D Monocle.

firstly, your talking about macdonalds, and america has a $%&&^ up leagal system when it comes to frivolous lawsuits.
Secondly, they DO give warnings, just like all wii games say to have a wrist strap (phhht, wrist straps, who needs em?).

AGAIN: Not saying they don't give warnings BUT

Common sense: You bought a hot coffee - Coffee is HOT

Common sense: You played videogames for 6 hours and it gave you a migraine, it ususally doesn't give you a migraine... Hmm... There must be something new contributing to the equation...

3D - Migraine
No 3D - No Migraine

People won't put two and two together. It's not about the lawsuits or who sues who. They're going to blame the companies. Remember a while back when parents were pissed that their children were playing M rated game and "Getting bad ideas from it"? What did they fail to do out of common sense? Not buy the game for their kids! They were buying violent games for kids and complaining about the violent content. They'll do the same thing. Buy 3D games and then complain about the symptoms that they, themselves, incure.

You're getting pissed at people who arn't using all the facts, Actually read my posts and see what I'm getting at.

#1; Sony has no reason to be defensive because glasses-free 3D on a TV is not their yet. It works on 3DS because the 1-player-per-screen and being a handheld excuses the technology's limitations. TVs can't because they are set further away and need a wide range of less than direct viewing angles to cater to multiple people. Now, if the rumors were true and they were working on a PSP-3D with glasses, it sucks to be them but they still can't complain because

#2; that's what we call business. Playing up unique qualities, especially if they're strengths compared to competition, is par for the course. I don't recall Sega complaining after E3 '95 that Sony wasn't being a "brother in arms" after pricing PS1 below Saturn.

Suck it up, already!
