Why. The fuck. Isn't Seth Green. Nominated?! He whips Martin Sheen's performance so badly it's not even funny.

And wow, hadn't we more shooters this year that could challenge BioShock 2? Sure, I really liked it but it was no way near award status.

I loved Red Dead, and I think the graphics, when taken as a whole, were phenomenal. I'm not talking about the individual textures or whether or not it was perfect in every way, but the atmosphere they created was second to none, which is doubly amazing given the limitations of console hardware.

That being said, I'll point and laugh at Spike like I do every year, but they'll just point and laugh back at me all the way to the bank, because enough people must pay attention and actually watch an awards show for it to make them some money. Oh well.

My votes for this year are BF:BC2 as best multiplayer game, God of War III for best score, and Portal 2 for most anticipated. I'm impartial to all of the other categories.

Also, Sam Worthington was Mason in Black Ops, apparently. I did not recognize the voice at all.

There's something about the categories denoting if the person is a "human" male or female that greatly amuses and yet also confuses me. Although on some level it is nice to see the performance for (the non-canon) femshep being nominated.
I suppose cats and dogs can wear mo-cap suits, too. :)

Looking at the EA MMA title listed there it makes me wonder if some of those titles got onto the awards show due to donated money more than anything. I can't think of anything good I've heard about that game.

Getting on an awards show like this would generate publicity and get people to think "oh gee, if they are thinking about giving it an award, it must be good!".

Excuse me, I just had to get in on this thread to ask:
Do you people actually GIVE A SHIT about this? Who cares what these jagoffs think about games? The guys in charge of this thing probably haven't even played any of the games on the list.
Spike TV's VG awards are worthless, just an hour-long commercial. I care more about what games my dog likes to watch me play, and he's outside barking at a squirrel. I care more about which slice of bread I'm going to put the peanut butter on and which one gets the sweet, sweet jelly.
This show got started so that the TV execs could get tons of money thrown at them because they get to charge more for advertising slots. And guess who's paying during Video Game Awards? Video Game Companies! Yeah there'll be a few movie, beer, and TV show ads, but for the most part this whole thing is just to get suckers to sit in front of the tube.
Please for the love of Humanity, tell Spike it's not cute or funny to do this, and instead demand a marathon of MXC.

How the hell can Brotherhood and Black Ops be nominated when they were just released?!

Then again, the VGA's have always been embarressing affair.
Donkey Kong Country hasn't even been released and it's nominated for "Best Wii Game".

I can't wait to see Spike's new show, "1,001 Ways to Be Ignorant Frat Boys Desperate to Get Celebrities and Hot Girls to Show Up at Your Awards Program"

SCHOOL POST! WOO!

Surprised Bayonetta was not nominated for anything. Not because it was great but because of Spike's pleasure for the more...notable features of the game.

The Spike VGA's are on par with the MTV VMA's in that they're both pointless in the grand scheme of things. The VMA's, however, sit higher than the VGA's because they at least pretend to be an actual meaningful awards show.

I think the only time I watched the VGA's was when Blizzard premiered the Burning Crusade cinematic as part of the broadcast, after which I promptly changed the channel back to what I watching beforehand and stopped caring.
