Mostly it's annoyance that Final Fantasy 7 is still the only one without a decent translation, and in the PSN release Square couldn't be arsed even to correct the spelling mistakes which the entire internet has mocked by now (Off Course!), even though they have a proofread script in there somewhere (they used it for the PC version).Onmi said:That was Sarcasm wasn't it?GloatingSwine said:Exactly, why should Square put any effort in at all when they can shovel up the same old creaky old poorly scripted non-proofread tat and people will lap it upCriticalGriffin said:Why the hell is should we get a remake for a game that seems perfectly fine on it's own and is already available in PSN store?
Although with Final Fantasy 3 they had the excuse that they'd lost the source code, whereas they had all the source for the other games, so they were easy to update the graphics, put some new dungeons together, and rerelease. They got halfway through doing a Wonderswan version of 3 before the platform died on it's arse and didn't get a satisfactory version finished until the DS one.Onmi said:True, how freaking long did it take Final Fantasy 3 to get some fucking love PERIOD, (the actual 3 not 6-3) I mean it innovated the FF Job System, I think it innovated a lot of things but until the DS arrived NO ONE could play it.
One of the things that would improve FFVII is a consistent graphical style for things made out of polygons. As it stands, there are the way things look in the environment screens, the way they look in battle, and the way they look in cutscenes, and they're all different.Onmi said:Do graphics really matter? just some good ones are best, I mean hell 6 is still in the sprite days and it's one of the best.Hunter.Wolf said:FF7 With FF13 graphics .... nothing will ever be the same again after this.
Spelling error doesn't justify a remake.GloatingSwine said:Mostly it's annoyance that Final Fantasy 7 is still the only one without a decent translation, and in the PSN release Square couldn't be arsed even to correct the spelling mistakes which the entire internet has mocked by now (Off Course!), even though they have a proofread script in there somewhere (they used it for the PC version).Onmi said:That was Sarcasm wasn't it?GloatingSwine said:Exactly, why should Square put any effort in at all when they can shovel up the same old creaky old poorly scripted non-proofread tat and people will lap it upCriticalGriffin said:Why the hell is should we get a remake for a game that seems perfectly fine on it's own and is already available in PSN store?
Let alone overhaul the interface properly so they can have spell names more than five characters long, have a decent readable font, etc etc. Which they even managed to do in GBA Tiny-O-Vision.
No, but a PSN rerelease isn't an excuse for not patching in a proofread scriptCriticalGriffin said:Spelling error doesn't justify a remake.
