The Trandoshan did nothing but smile, reveling in the moment. The passion was there in this man standing in front of him, but he didn't reach out to use it, strange, must've been Jedi trained, but why switch to the Empire if he was?

The man was skilled in the use of the lightsaber, that was for sure, but was he trained against his own style of combat? Few Jedi or even Sith for that matter knew how to fight the saberstaff easily, the dual blades spinning in unison. He started with a simple swing to the Imperial's midsection, which was blocked, followed by a reversal thrust, which was deflected. The man was decent, not quite as strong as Grissk, but good enough.

He began going into more elaborate and complex maneuvers, the two blue lightsabers clashing against one another, faster and faster they went, until it seemed little more than three blue blurs being wielded by the two,one Sith, the other Imperial.

The human tried bringing his gun to bear, but was forced to let it go or be crushed under a saber lock, the Trandoshan's strength bearing down on him before he Force-pushed him back enough to regain his lost footing.

"I am Grissk, human, what is your name, so that I may better call to Scorekeeper when I take your head? For you are an adequate opponent."

Del removed him helmet; if the Sith was to know his name then he should also know the face that went with it. "Your not to bad yourself, kid. The name's Commodore Del Karcot, pleased to meet you." Del couldn't help smiling. It had been nearly 2 years since he had fought a swordsmen with any real skill, and it felt good to be in a fair lightsaber duel again. "I assume you're one of Ryn'Talos' followers, no?"

"Sith. Not good." Hann thought as looked through his binoculars to see what transport had landed near the pair. He had been tailing behind from a significant distance since they had left the town walls and put his light brown cloak up so he'd be harder to notice from a distance as he blended in the dune sea. Picking up some speed, he started to run towards the ambush as well as creating a small breeze, starting a localized sandstorm. It would throw off the Stormtroopers but not the Sith; they'd have picked up on his presence by now if they were good enough. If not, they'd swiftly be defeated.

As he saw two red blades shine through the sandy winds, Hann pulled the ground beneath them from their feet, sending them on their backs.

"Master, take them down!" he shouted as he got closer to them.

"I am one of the Chosen, human. Do you still believe that you can take this planet? You are trapped between two armies bent on your destruction, we each outnumber you many times over, yet you do not retreat. Thrawn and the Empire have no place in this galaxy anymore."

He raised his saber again, and made ready to fight.

"You are nothing but a potential apprentice to the New Sith Empire, join us, and we can make you strong. You have power in you, untapped, I can feel it. Does it not bother you that the weakling Thrawn is the commander of your fleets? That he sent you here on a suicide mission to take a planet you both knew would be taken by us? That you are simply a pawn he sees as a liability? You are Jedi-trained, that much is clear, how long before he has you killed for being a Republic spy?"

With the storm troopers in the air, Drokath made a move and pulled out his blaster, firing upon the storm troopers, most of them were dead before they hit the ground, the sith however, deflected a few blasts back, one narrowly missing his face. He made a dash behind the transport to let the Jedi handle the remaining three Sith.

"Good to see your apprentice made it! The Empire just ruins everything for everyone."

Red blaster fire ripped through the air as the New Republic troopers fell back out of the hangar. Bits of metal exploded into sparks as men ducked for cover, rolling away from exploding thermal detonators and ducking behind any cover they could get their hands on. Kares dragged his friend Vic through the door as one of the last ones through. The idiot had gone and gotten himself shot in the midst of all the fighting, not bothering to check all directions before standing for a burst. He'd caught it right in the gut, and his SpecOps armor was smoking an charred in that area. Octavian thought back to Qwezzel, and gave a silent thanks to his friend; as cheap as it had looked, that armor had most likely saved Vic's life.

Kares knew the next checkpoint was just up ahead, and pulled the groaning, barely-conscious human up to drag him more quickly. The side effect was that he could no longer shoot, and had to move in odd, roundabout patterns to avoid the shots of Stormtroopers approaching the door. They retreated back into the hallways, where they found the New Republic chokepoints waiting for them. A medic arrived within moments to retrieve the injured man, and dragged Vic away as Kares set himself up behind a barricade beside another trooper. He barely had time to reload his energy cells before the first white-clad trooper dove into the fray. Shots tore him to shreds, but dozens more came in behind him, flowing in and creating a melee in the cramped hallways.

Here the New Republic had the advantage. They held all the cover, and the Imperials were walking into practical shooting ranges, a meat grinder where the only products were ground human and plastic. With the Hushabye, Kares picked off nearly half a dozen grunts before he sensed a lull in the fighting. He used it to raise Katarn on his communicator, hoping to get a status update.

"Katarn!" he shouted into it as he sprayed fire into an officer stepping a little too close. "This is Kares Octavian, I got separated from you in all the chaos! How are you holding up? Any news of how the battle's going outside?"

He couldn't get more out, because at that time an Imperial grenadier launched his payload into Kares' cover. He knew the other soldier hadn't noticed, so he pushed him out into the open and dove out along with him. Their former haven exploded into shrapnel as they scrambled to find a bit of wall or barricade to shield them from the ever-growing number of Imperial soldiers blasting away.

Del listened to Grissk's words, but dismissed his claims without a second guess. Thrawn was the savior of the Empire and he would not doubt him, especially not by the word of some brutish Sith. This debate was just another type of battle, and Del needed to go on the offensive.

"And what of the Sith?" he said. "You think an institution founded on hate and fear will last forever? Eventually the Sith's anger will turn inward and they will tear themselves apart, just as they have in the past. You will be just another casualty in a war that will destroy civilization as we know it. But it doesn't have to be that way. You're the one that needs to change sides; you could do a lot of good with the Empire."

"All governments fall and fade,Imperial. And the Sith are so much more than fear and hate, Karcot, we embrace all emotion, passion, love, happiness, and yes, anger, but your Emperor simply refuses to go beyond what he knows, hate, and fear.

He and the Imperial began circling each other, neither giving their back to the other's troops.

"While the Jedi reject all emotion, and keep themselves cut off from the galaxy, they do nothing but protect their own small code of values, caring nothing for the fate of others, despite what Skywalker preaches.

Grissk began punctuating his sentences with swift thrusts of his lightsaber, all of which were parried by the man standing in front of him. He would have been severely disappointed if the man had not.

"And Thrawn is simply a man trying to keep his small portion of the galaxy his, regardless of the cost to others. You know this, deep in your heart, but you refuse to see what is right in front of you. You willingly make yourself an expendable pawn to be thrown away when your use is exhausted. You are the blind, with Thrawn holding the darkness over your head, we are the light that is attempting to find it's way in, yet you hold the darkness in front of you, alone in ignorance, and you condemn good men that follow you to the same fate."

"We are the only true hope this galaxy has left. I have nothing but contempt for your Empire and the Republic, they are nothing but dogs fighting each other in an endless war that will not be won by either side until a third party steps in, Us. We are the neutral party that will unite the stars under one banner, a glorious universe ruled over by the Sith Lords, who are the rightful heirs of this planet and all that both you and the Republic have taken from us."

"We were feared once because of our power and our justice, and it has been deemed that anything powerful enough must be put down by the accursed Jedi. Your Empire is nothing but a festering sore growing from the infection that is the Jedi, an infection that was once cleansed, but has survived, despite the fire used to purify it. Until you lift the blanket that is suffocating you, you will never reach your full potential. And there is so much potential to be had from one like you."

Grissk and Karcot continued to circle each other, both looking for an opening in the other's defenses, though finding none.

The blades of the two warriors locked. "I don't defend the Jedi or Palpatine, but your wrong about the Empire. You call us an infection, but you are the cancer. Time and time again the Sith sprout up like weeds, spreading your roots of evil and corruption throughout the galaxy, bringing suffering and destruction to every world you touch." Del withdrew his saber and swung it at Grissk's legs. The Trandoshan avoided the strike and blocked another aimed for his head, locking their blades again. "But every time you rise you are struck back down by the forces of truth and justice, and this time will be no different!" Del back flipped away from the Sith and unleashed a stream of force lighting. "Your order should have died on Ruusan!"

Pana could feel the two fighting, it was an interesting game they played. Each going back and forth with points and attacks, only to have the other respond. Games like this are fun and exciting, besides the crew is more than capable of handling the ship without her. Pana was never much of a tactition.

She made her way down towards the hangar and managed to get ahold of a sith X-wing. She took off and began heading towards the hangar where the two were fighting.

____
The liberator was doing heavy damage to each of the fleets. once through the cruiser wall, she banked and began to engage the division of ships pecking at her rear. a massive broadside was unleashed upon the incoming task group, halting their advance.

Grissk countered the Force lightning with the true Sith Lightning, countering it and causing them both to simply create a small displacement and leaving behind a distinctly metallic taste to the air.

"You, Thrawn, the Empire are simply an outgrowth of Palpatine's sickness, yet you hide behind false notions of truth and justice. Why are you even here, Kalcot, is it to protect the people of this world, or to enslave them?"

He charged the Imperial, battering through his defenses, the force behind his strikes could only be withstood so long before even the strongest of steel bent. He swung his saber, striking his saber and sending it out wide, but the Imperial used his knowledge of the Force to his advantage, pushing Grissk back just far enough to where what would have been his killing blow instead only grazed through his armor, never even touching his skin.

"You call us corruption, yet you betrayed your Jedi masters to join with the Empire. Who are you to judge our actions, our motivations? You grew up hearing stories of our darker pasts, without consideration of your own. We are the New Sith Order, and we seek to correct the mistakes of our founders."

Grissk was snarling by this point, each word beginning to deteriorate into his home language. He spun to deflect the Republic troopers fire from behind the walls of their compound, killing one of them. He left his back open, a mistake he knew Kalcot would not let go unpunished. As he suspected, the Imperial attempted to take his head, but he ducked under it and countered with a strike of his own, knocking both sabers to the side, where they stayed, Kalcot matching the Trandoshan's strength with both hands, though the strain was evident in his face.

"You are not yet ready to join the galaxy's true hope, Kalcot. You will either understand the truth behind your Empire, and seek us out as you should, or you will fall, nothing but a traitor to the Republic, and a possible security hazard to the Thrawn and the Imperials. One of your strength will be welcomed in the New Sith Order, Del Kalcot.Until that time, we will take back this planet, and bring it back into the fold of the Sith Empire."

Grissk pushed the human to the ground with his free hand, jumped to the side, landing beside the wall of the compound and ordered his squad to open fire on Kalcot's own. The Sith clones had managed to gain the higher ground in the form of the roofs that littered the city. The Stormtroopers were cut down to a man, leaving Kalcot sprawled in the dirt.

"Go back to Thrawn and tell him that the Ascendants claim this planet as ours once again. I can feel the incoming droids and clones, your defeat is at hand."

Just pm me if you think this was too badass/Op/etc. and I'll dumb it down, I was just trying to get this fight done with and that seemed the best way to do it from my end.

Vorir sat up and felt the reconstructed synthflesh, relieved to be rid of that dreaded implant. "Alright, just make sure that chip is fried and spaced, I hope to never see it again."

Getting down from the examination table, he quickly made his way over to the bridge. "Better buckle up, I'm punching in right now."

"Track this, you little earworm," said the assassin as he set a course for Abregado-rae. "Caster, I hope your strapped in. We're jumping in three...two..."

The craft jumped into hypserspace immediately after.

Abregado-rae Orbit
Vorir called in to the Abregado-rae spaceport, his ship's ID scrambler making them untraceable and even harder to locate in it's bustling, smuggler's paradise of a spaceport. Once Vorir's craft landed, he shut down most of the systems, leaving the scanner on as a precaution, then walked over to Caster. "We should be fine here, those mercs will have a hard time tracking us down. Even so, this ship's scanner will spot them once they enter orbit. But now would be a good time for us to get our bearings, figure out what to do next."

I don't really care; it was pretty cool. As long as Soviet is ok with it I see nothing wrong.
Del picked himself up and looked around at the clones on the roof tops, before finally bringing his gaze to Grissk himself. He didn't like it, but they had lost. "You are nothing but a slave to the Dark Side. The sooner you see that the better off you'll be. I'll give Thrawn your message, Sith, but I leave you with one of my own: Ryn'Talos is not the first Dark Lord to claim his order will be different, and history has a tendency to repeat itself." With that, Del turned and ran down a side ally to avoid the coming droids. He removed his comlink from his belt. "All units fall back." he said. "I repeat, fall back and await extraction."

10 minutes later, Del was on an Imperial transport with a platoon of Stormtroopers on the way back to the Avenger. He jumped out of the hatch before the craft had even landed and rushed to the bridge. "Zesk" he shouted as he ran up to the captain. "Is everyone aboard?"

"Yes, sir." said the captain. "All shore parties are back on their ships."

"Good." Del said, and walked over to the comm station. "This is Commodore Karcot. All Imperial ships are to retreat." He walked back over to Zesk and looked out the bridge's window with him. They could see the glow of a thousand fires coming from the planets dark side. "Some day, Zesk, we'll return to this planet and take it back from the Sith. I swear it."

Zesk smiled. "We're not out of this yet, Commodore. They may have won the battle, but we'll win the war."

"Damn right we will, Captain. Damn right." said Del, and the fleet jumped to hyperspace.

I don't really feel connected to the Mon Calamari battle all that much. Kinda trapped in a little pocket dimension, it seems. Is there some way I could tie all this in with you, Redrhyno?

Something was happening. The Imperials were pulling back. One by one, white armor-clad soldiers ducked out of cover and fully out of sight. Then more, and more, until it seemed like a full-on retreat was happening all around them. Feeling the vigor of a victory welling up in their hearts, the New Republic forces mustered for a charge. Black armored men backed by the dozens of oddly-shaped and colored aliens and mercenaries pushed forward with a single thrust. Back through the halls they went, stepping through the thin corridors and over the bodies of the men they left behind, and the Stormtroopers who gave their lives to take that ground. Their sacrifices were in vain; perhaps on both sides. It wasn't long before the charge, Kares near the front, reached the entrance back into the hangar bay. What they found was a scene of utter chaos as the few remaining Imperials scrambled onto shuttles, cutting and running as they fled from the hangar as fast as thrusters could take them.

A few rocket troopers were hustled up to the barricades and made their marks, red target-locked ballistic missiles blowing the stragglers of the Remnant's forces to smithereens. A trooper or two looked back to return fire, but it was pointless. The massive hangar had room for over a thousand men, and the entire remaining New Republic garrison had swarmed into it, filling the air with so many superheated bolts that it was something of a miracle the entire place didn't detonate all at once.

Kares felt a great relief as the men around them cheered. A merc to his left fell to his knees, praising some higher power for his survival. Helmets and caps flew up into the air in celebration. Was that it then, the Devaronian asked himself. He walked out in front of the barricades. Save for the bodies, of course, the 80% of the hangar past the barricade line felt rather empty. Everyone was content to remain where they were and continue cheering, but he wanted more. Kyle still hadn't returned his hails; something was happening out there, and it wasn't just an Imperial rout. He had to know what.

Octavian approached the shield at the edge of the hangar and peered out, and almost felt his gut twist and gnarl into itself out of sheer horror and fear. The Imperial ships were running with their tails between their legs. But not from New Republic ships. Something else was coming; an entire fleet, bigger than he could have imagined, an entire battle group laying into the already shredded Republic forces. The edges of his mouth turned down as his jaw dropped out from under him. "No... no, no, no." He re-attempted his communications. "This is Kares Octavian, the Imperials have been repelled from our position. But what the hell is going on out there?! Somebody, respond! Who the hell are those ships?!"

I don't have a problem with it so long as Soviet's ok with it and you find some way to get yourself planetside, which shouldn't be too hard considering.I imagine the Republic's not just going to leave with the Empire. They kinda want to keep their planet too.

Grissk watched as the Imperial left with the shattered remnants of his forces. There wasn't much to do beyond to rout the Republic troops inside the command compound. They took no prisoners, and expected no mercy from them as well. He activated his comm and spoke to all the clones in the vicinity.

"Get those guns back on, the Republic's not going to simply run away with the Empire. They still foolishly believe this planet is theirs. Now get the anti-air online and up to peak efficiency. Get the droids inside, we don't want them destroyed just yet. Get to solid fortifications, they'll be here soon. Repeat to all linking comms."

He then got on the frequency of the Liberator

"Get me the Queen.... Tana, we have taken the planet, the Republic should be launching their attempt to retake the planet soon. We have control of most of the anit-air positions and are fortified against orbital bombardment."

The Farghul Jedi reacted instantly, drawing his saber and igniting the unique black beam.
He charged the Sith head on, startling them immensely; they expected that their presence would inspire fear, and had prepared for intimidation tactics, they had not anticipated someone to be unperturbed and attack head-on.
Quickly slashing at one of the two lesser Sith who was on the ground, slicing him cleanly across the chest. He yelled as the blade cut him, and lay writhing in intolerable pain, incapacitated and definitely out of the fight.
As Hann approached, Xyras decided to tackle the Master of the Imperial Sith, confident that Hann could take the lesser foe.
"Remember your teachings, my Padawan!" He shouted, before engaging the master.

Their duel was fierce, red and black blades slashing and swiping expertly, blocking and dodging every blow. The Sith was a competent warrior, being a fair challenge for Xyras, but the Farghul had seen decades of experience, and had fought and won against foes far more insurmountable.
"You fight with skill, Sith.." He complimented, spinning and swiping at both his head and legs, but the opponent dodged both, "..But you lack refinement."
He swung to the left. Blocked. To the right. Blocked again. He began a second swipe to the left, but mid swing he changed direction, and instead directly hit the Sith's lightsaber.
This threw him off balance, and in this brief moment of weakness, the Farghul swiftly dismembered his saber hand, before kicking him to the ground.
He glanced around to see how Hann was doing.

"Rez! They managed to kill the signal and jumped to hyperspeed!" Rastus called out.

Rez dropped what he was working on and hurried to the cockpit. There were no readings at all. They had exited hyperspeed and found themselves alone for hundreds of thousands of miles in all directions.

A lesser person might have cursed or hit something in frustration. But Rez was controlled. He sighed deeply and attempted to contact Thrawn once more.

"See? I told you, as long as I'm around, the Empire seems to run away." he patted his blaster pistol affectionately. "Told you we'd get through this."

There was some doubt in his voice. The Empire was routed, but it wasn't by their actions. Someone else had decided to join the party later. When the word that the Liberator had arrived reached the space docks, Katarn knew that it would just be the vanguard for a much larger force. He looked around at the surviving mercenary teams. There would be a short respite, and the wounded needed to be tended to. Katarn shook his head sadly as he saw that his second Jedi, Kurt had been amongst the dead. The station held, but at great cost.

Waving to Kares and Vic, he collected the remaining troops and brought them to the operations room in the station's concourse. A holomap display of Mon Calamari floated over the table. Several red daggers represented the newly arrived Ascendant fleet. "Hell boys, it looks like we'll have to pay you overtime. Got a new job to do now." Kyle pointed to the Ascendant's destination points. "For some reason, they're leaving the shipyards alone, and heading straight for the planet. If this goes anything like the last few times the Sith have attacked, we're looking at another massacre of civilians. When the Ascendants take a planet, they either do so by toppling a government or by extermination. I doubt the Mon Cals want another occupation force."

"What about the fleet?" asked one of the mercenaries. "The New Republic defense force just got thrashed fighting the Empire and the Sith. How the hell are we supposed to get down to the planet in the first place?"

Katarn sighed. "I've got a few ideas. Open a hailing frequency to the lead battleship of the Imperial Fleet. Use the private channels so the Ascendants don't drop in on us."

"Captain Zesk, we're receiving a transmission from the shipyards. The New Republic wishes to talk."

Zesk frowned. How could the New Republic manage to intercept their transmissions in hyperspace? "After we both tear each other apart, they wish to talk?" he grumbled. "Very well, find Commodore Karcot, he'll wish to hear this as well."

Zesk and Del waited in the communications room for the message to appear. The face of Kyle Katarn showed up on their sensors. "Before you decide to shut me off, listen to what I have to say. Neither of us were expecting the Ascendants to show up when they did, and neither of us would like it if they took this world. If they get their hands on the shipyards, its game over for both of us. I suggest a truce for the time being. You help us take them down, and we offer you access to the shipyards. I've talked it over with the Mon Calamari and the Quarren. They don't like the idea of giving their old occupiers resources, but they also don't want the Sith hanging out on their cities. What do you say? A temporary allegiance to drive the Sith back?"

Zesk spoke. "And what of Mon Calamari? What happens after the Sith are removed from the planet?"

"After that, Mon Calamari remains a neutral zone. No fighting, and equal access to the shipyards for repair and rearmament." Katarn looked to the Commodore. "Do we have an accord? Are you willing to pull your fleet out of hyperspace and come back to aid us?"
