The installation has been enabled in the EU a few minutes ago. Judging from the plot recap of the installation screen, it seems that Brood War is considered non-canon. That is....fucking weird. Bullshit detector status: yellow. Let's see how they make up for this.
Well, BW basically ended in a reset anyway...UED gone, Dominion back in place, new Overmind dead...a couple of old characters died, but we haven't seen any Fenix yet, so they might just sorta ignore BW to keep the recap simple.
SC2 apparently begins 4 years after the destruction of Aiur by the Zerg, and Mengsk is still in power.

It was cool until Funk pulled out the flash drive with Starcraft 1 on it. Then it was awesome.

The original StarCraft wasn't in 800x600, but 640x480.

I know since I still play it and will keep playing it, just 'cause it supports LAN, unlike a certain lazy sequel Blizzard did.

Lmao, I literally laughed out loud at the "Starcraft Eve" thing.

Can't wait for tomorrow. First day shipping!

Also yeah, original was 640x480. not 800x600.
See, that's what I THOUGHT. But a certain cameraman said he was playing it on his mac in 600x800 so I had to change it... :p Lousy CaptainCrunch.
I also haven't played it in years, to be fair. For some reason I thought it came out around the same time as Diablo II, so 800x600 made perfect sense. (I was told after the shoot by certain office Blizzard fans that they were actually 2 years apart. Blew my mind - I used to love playing both of them.)

Ok, I really need to get my hands on a copy of this game. Hell I don't even play starcraft but I've been swept up in the hype!

Well productivity in South Korea is going to drop to an all time low tomorrow, lets hope North Korea doesn't take advantage of that and invade lol.

I will break you and everything that you hold dear.
It is very nice to see that you share a mutual respect amongst each other in sensitive subjects like these.

On-topic.
I'm drooling after the Soundtrack and artbook, but not so much interested on the game itself (not a fan of it) But I love all sort of collectors gadgets you can get >.<. Probably going to go snitch my friends book and CD and drool over them, he wont notice that theya re gone b's he will spend next 2 months clued to the screen.

GAHHH! I didn't get the Collectors' Edition, but anticipation for the actual game is killing me. Too bad I have band camp tomorrow, I'm debating calling in sick and walking over to where I have the game pre-ordered so that I have all day to play.

Not really a fan of collector editions, but looks nice. Hope they still have regular copies in stock for a month.

If you want to know who's playing, look out your windows at midnight. You'll see the clouds open and rays of sunshine will cut through the night and reach those blessed homes.

I'm still very pissed about the no LAN. We run our LANs in a large conference room where there simply is not an internet connection.

Oh my...did it have a UPS code! You have to show it to us! I have to see the UPS code for Starcraft II. STARCRAFT II! Also can you give us the chemical formula of the cardboard they used. I have to print it out and start rubbing it all over my body.

In all seriousness, I applaud Blizzard. I mean, a lot of lesser designers would be taking serious flak for a product this late, but they have turned it around and managed to get fans to essentially descend into frothing berserk frenzies just looking at a box it comes in.

I want this...so bad. I could've gotten it too for the Swedish equivalent of 50 cents if you were one of the 10 first in line, but then I would have to stay in line about 2 days before the game would be released. And the thing is: I wouldn't have minded doing that, but the problem was that the day before I was about to step in line, I had a Lan with some friends at an internet café, so I was really tired. and even though I could've slept near the store, I found out that there were already some people there outside of the store...

This is my motivation now. This is what I will use as motivation, the next time a game that I like release an awesome Collectors Edition that you can get for a really low price if you're really early...

I hope they will have some item that has the same worth as the phurba dagger in Uncharted 2...in Uncharted 3's Collectors Edition...

Yellow? My BS meter is spewing billowing clouds of smoke.

So this means:
Fenix, General Duke, Dark Templar matriarch, Conclave guy, various Zerg cerebrates still alive.
Protoss didn't migrate to the Dark Templar world.
UED invasion, Duran and the hybrids never happened.
Stukov never infested.

Seems a bit too much of a stretch.

Just got my tracking num from Amazon. Next day air... strange, I ordered it about 3 months ago. If I don't get it tomorrow, I'm gonna be pissed something fierce.

Very nice, I have to admit, but even so I'd never be willing to shell out this much money for one box, no matter how cool the goodies are. I mean, what was it? 150 bucks? Yeah, no thank you.
Looking forward to playing the game, though.
$100.

The game ($60), SC1+Brood War ($15), and I think the artbook/DVD/Soundtrack are more than worth the remaining $25.
Edited my post already. I suppose you're right, it isn't a bad deal. Unfortunately I already own the Starcraft Anthology, and I simply don't want the other goodies bad enough to make me wanna buy the CE. Still, it's a very good CE.

I have the Collector's Edition sitting on my desk, and my Starcraft II game quietly downloading itself onto my computer. I'm not even that big a fan of Starcraft, but all the extras encouraged me to invest a bit more money in it. I mean, the music is gorgeous, and the artwork is beautiful.

Happy Starcraft II Eve to you too, Funk. :)
