I hate the loud pissy children on mics. I prefer not to deal with them but I don't remember anything specific in what they say.

See, I think this is partially the reason that I don't tend to like playing online. If I am, I'm usually a total mouse, heh. For the same reason.

Pretty much. Two very hostile communities are Killing Floor and Heroes of Newearth.

Killing Floor players tend to think that rank equals skill. They refuse to teamwork 90% of the time (y'know, THE POINT OF THE GAME), and are openly hostile to lower ranked people to "get the fuck off our server" - even if the lower level is outperforming them.

Similarly, all the "fail X" comments are why I gave up on HoN after two sessions of the game. Even more so than KF, Sonic or C&C, it is THE most hostile fanbase out there, with LoL not being too far behind. They expect you to INSTANTLY be a good player, despite the fact your dude is about as durable as the chaps in Brink wearing Toilet Tissue for armor.

I think it was someone on World of Warcraft asking me to get down and dirty. . . When I was 11. It was 'pretty' uncomfortable. I never made a female character in an RPG again.

My cousin and I were playing Black Ops online, when we received a message from a kind gentleman simply saying: Wolfpussy

We responded with: Donkey Vagina. I don't understand the game...

The conversation took some nasty turns after that, but we had some fun with it. Good times.

Hmm... Waaay back when I was still raiding as a feral tank in WoW, we got a new recruit in our guild who was rather... odd. Once he got wind that I did, in fact, not have a penis, he started flirting with me. No big deal.

Then he started getting kinda weird... When I was levelling my shaman, he travelled across the Eastern Kingdoms, to the middle of Stranglethorne, to give me a hug, proceeding to complain about how weird it was that I had a male avatar instead of a female one. Yeah, bro, that's the only weird thing about this. Sure.

So he went back to awkwardly flirting with me (in both PMs and guild chat, for some odd reason), and this continued for a while until he went a bit overboard.

In the middle of a conversation about books, I suddenly got a PM somewhere along the lines of;
"I run my hand up your leg. How does this feel?"

I can totally see how my complete disinterest in his previous advances made him jump to the conclusion that I'd totally be into cybering with him.

Smooth.

In the end, one of our raid leaders told him to back the fuck off or he'd get kicked from the guild. Apparently, I was the only person with the good sense to just ignore him whenever he went into creepy mode. Huh.

Come to think of it, I had a lot of really strange conversations while still playing WoW...

And got several accusations of "girls can't tank - back in the kitchen, *****!" hahaha...
Eh, ignoring him may have been a good move on your part, but speaking as a male who has both been in positions of authority and dealt with perverts making unwanted advances on his female friends, that raid leader did the right thing. The creep wasn't going to stop until someone got onto him for it, and if he hadn't stopped, kicking him out of the guild would have been completely justified. Most men -- even the creeps, especially the creeps -- will respect[footnote]Or rather fear, in the biblical sense[/footnote] another man who can threaten him and back it up. Pardon the term, but once dominance has been established, the creep either backs off or faces the consequences. They almost always wind up backing off, though, because they really don't want to deal with the consequences, whether that's getting their ass kicked, or just getting it kicked out of a raiding guild.

As a female, I tend to get very...creepy messages. Well first it starts with friend requests. Anytime I go to a server I've never been to before and use my mic, I usually get at least one request. Then the messages start to arrive. I was once told if I was ever in the area of Southern Pennsylvania to send them a message. Yeah, sure thing pal. Also, I once mentioned my boyfriend in-game, and one person who I'm friends with (mostly because they are so depressed I'm scared to un-friend him) asked if he could kill my boyfriend.

But usually it's just the typical trolling. You know, "Do you have boobs?" "How big are they?" "Tits or gtfo" "Go make me a sandwich" "Wanna see my dick?" "How often do you wash your vagina?" "Get back in the kitchen." All so adorably pathetic it almost makes the servers more fun.
If I played online games more often, I'd pay cash money to hear those messages.

As a guy, it's hard for me to understand the perverted/sexist/derogatory/degrading/ect messages that... a goodly portion... of male players feel the need to send/say to female players.

I do, however, find it entertaining listening to them, and the replies from those same female players.

Besides, most female players I've run across in games like Reach/Black Ops/L4D2/ and what-have-you, are FAR better players than those sexist assholes, which make it SO much more funny when the guys suddenly clam up after those female players either save their asses a half-dozen times, of destroy them in a few Team Death-matches.

The only online games I ever play are World of Warcraft and Bad Company 2. I've never had any trouble in BC2, but once in WoW I decided to play as a female night elf (I'm a guy). Within minutes of entering the starting area the following conversation took place:

Other player: "By any chance are you a lesbian?"

Me: "Um...... no."

Other Player: "Oh, that's a shame."

On a related note, let the record show that if I was in charge of WoW sending people unsolicited guild invitations would be a bannable offence. Seriously people, if I want to join your crappy guild I'll ask you.

Now, I follow the three tenets of the sniper when playing online , so it's usually pretty quiet

Though at the end of a few games i get messages that are roughly, "can you even shoot anywhere except[ whichever spot was most vulnerable that match]?"

ignoring him was the best move but trust me if the raid leader hadn't told him off it would have got alot creepier. my sister used to play wow with me until she met "rick497" who i shit you not told her he wanted to milk her long and hard..(she played a tauren female) i immediately got on my lvl 85 NE hunter and spent the next 8 weeks hunting him with my guild mates i believe he raged quit after that(had people from Europe in our guild so 24 hours watch on his ass)

OT:had a guy in LoL tell me he worked for the guys who are making the new halo and that my IP address would be blocked from their servers.
my reply was: sure thing Skippy and while your at it can you pull a rabbit out of your ass?

The best one I've ever got online was someone thinking I was Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation playing MW2, because of the accent, then started complaining about some reviews. Drawback being I'm Irish :p

Strangest one I ever got while playing online was someone asking me if I was an Xbox Administrator. After saying I was no such thing the person told me I was lying to hide my identity and that I was a spy sent to ban him and his friends from games.

I have actually received both.

The first was some guy's hairy bum for kicking said hairy bum in COD 4.

The second was in L4D versus splitscreen, and this one was a picture of a dog.

Just sitting there.

We laughed our asses off.

I only have one strange one I recall. I was playing AC: Brotherhood and I was doing a pretty good job hiding from the hunters(I had made a few escapes so I had more than one on my tail) when I got one of those "tits or GTFO" messages. I assume it was meant for some female talking on mic as I wasn't even on mic(I rarely am unless I'm playing with friends). I had to message back "Uh, you realize I'm a dude right? A big, hairy dude". My bro was watching me play and we still make jokes at that fools expense

Once upon a time way back when I played warcraft 3 over battle.net I started talking to my team mates a bit. The queston "from?" appeared and I answered that I am Swedish, to which their response was to kill me. Good times.

I sniped one guy 4 times in a row on gears 3. He kept running directly at me with a sawed off. and every time I popped his head. End of the game I get this lovely message
" YOU F*****G CAMPING SNIPER P***Y WHY NOT SHOTGUN DUEL ME LIKE A REAL MAN YOU F**K"
You cant shotgun duel with the sawn off. Had it been 1 vs 1 I would have gladly duelled him but again doubt his abilities if he uses the sawn off. But this was a team deathmatch with most of the lives still intact. I wonder about people sometimes.
