I often find myself swearing at game publishers for putting things in their game that are quite popular with most of their players. Expecting them not to really makes no sense.

As for those bashing on Guitar Hero and Rock Band's fakeness, I hope the new Rock Band game shuts those critics up.

I had a friend who actually refused to buy Red Dead Redemption because the reticule is just a dot. We all made fun of him for a while and eventually he admitted he was being stupid.
Because the main character experienced no great emotional and character changing arc, they remained static and the story felt like little more than an excuse to have the main character perform overly generic combat in generic environments.
Also, the control scheme was incredibly unintuitive, the buttons were overlapped requiring holding one button while pressing another while there were three buttons that had no action at all!
