that's why sometimes I think about switching to another gaming site....-_-

"i only play games to compete, thats why everything besides quake, unreal tournament, starcraft and starcraft 2 sucks and isn't worth my time"

-true story by someone i know

i dont care usually if someone doesn't want to play something..but when you are super ignorant and have to bash what other people play or have to bash them for playing it, then you cause for massive facepalm and ragee

Stupidest reason for NOT buying a game:

"It's from Activision/Valve/Some other Company"

Seriously, I find company hate to be completely stupid. A company values hardly ever affect a game, except for things like DLC.

And the people who hate Valve just all hate it for weird ass reasons "Valve fanboys are like Xbox fanboys with better vocabulary" is a quote I saw somewhere on this forum.

My sister works at a Gamestop; she told me this one time an angry soccer mom came in trying to return Fable 2. When asked why, the mom said that her child complained that he changed his character's gender and couldn't change it back. I know it's not technically "shooting it down" since he's already owned it, but it's still a stupid reason to return it. Besides, the game gives an advance warning saying that it's irreversible.

Yeah because everyone is always sucking up to MW2. Your such a rebel for being one of those few people who hate on that game.
Oh, shall I clarify? I don't like the FPS genre, but I have no problem with it. I just get annoyed when that is the auto-response I get from a few peers of mine when I suggest a game. Don't go assuming things.

I swear if I hear that one more time I'll eat this chair.

EDIT: apparently I have to clarify, I dont like it when I say: "I want buy [insert game of choice here]" and a certain friend of mine replies that such and such said the game was shite.
The review was terrible. now EAT it!

Oh yeah, I think its stupid when a friend doesn't like a game he hasn't even played, and has just watched the trailer and didn't like it.

Anyone who said the art design puts them off...and that covers about 95% of the FF9 haters.
yes, anyone who hates a boring on rails RPG must be another "hater" who is just hung up on the design.
I am just saying that to FF fans who say that and then say FF7 is better.I also play shooters like gears of war as well as bioshock and raceing games like burnout I'm not some rpg nut ok?

Wow, my apologies. I didn't realize your peers had some idiotic reason to shoot a game down, clearly your better educated for avoiding an entire genre altogether.
Thank you for classifying, i was scratching my head completely bewildered by your post. I was about to consult my old professor and everything until i read your post. So enlightening.
Where did I say I am better educated? I merely said I do not like the genre BUT I can put up with it, until that reason is brought out as the only reason to not play the game. I can see why people like the game, and I know not everyone in the whole gaming community play and praise it, but a few of the gamers I associate with in my personal life do love the game enough to shoot down everything that is not MW2, or a similar FPS.

Stupid reasons to reject a game:
- Graphics
- Because it's on *insert console/platform of choice here*
- Because it's not like Game A

Me: So you should check out Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It's a really good game.
Friend: I played a little bit of it a while ago.
Me: What did you think of it?
Friend: I hated it.
Me: What? Why did you hate it?
Friend: Because you can't jump in the game. Seriously, what game doesn't let you jump?
Me: ... You're joking right?

well a thousand pardons my majesty, I didn't realize you played games other than FF, that makes my post completely meaningless.
Sorry if I seem like an ass, but this whole thread seems like an excuse to blindly defend your favorite games. It's so passive aggressive that i thought i would join in.
Personally I despised FF7 because it simplified the entire idea of hating corporations yet it glorified it. It was like the gaming equivalent of an annoying liberal internet news show. Something that agreed with my view of the world yet dumbed it down for the idiotic mass audience. Never tried 9, I read in a review that the art design is very off putting.
Edit: mmmmm....putting.
Ya I'm one the same page with you about FF7 and the thread.FF9 has a epic story but people just can't get over the art design and that is petty. The reason for this is the FF7 fans who would not know a good jrpg if it hit them in the face.
