LoL, I can't tell if you're joking or being serious..XP

I'm not being entirely serious, but it is the Philosophy of Yahtzee's to express is opinion of a game regardless of its hype or it's franchise, so it's pretty likely that his reviews are going to be more accurate than other reviewers, other than that if you really really like labradoodles and a game comes out about labradoodles and it's shit, I don't think that's going to stop you playing it. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what reviewers think although I've found what I like is pretty similar to what Yahtzee likes so it's probably a good thing that I trust his reviews (with a level of cynicism) because I'm poor and can't afford shit games.

To date I have never played a game before or after seeing the same Yahtzee review and gone "OMG what a load of horseshit that game wuz teh awesome". Yahtzee is and will always be my favourite video game reviewer but if he's not in to the same thing you are and he's not into labradoodles then you don't have to listen to his opinion.

Graphics, the number one stupidest reason of all time would be graphics. Who honestly gives a shit. If the game is bad, then it is the story, or mechanics, or it isn't your genre, but it should never be graphics. They don't affect a game at all, not even a little bit. A game's story or mechanics won't be skewed just because the graphics are terrible or something.

I love when people who don't know what "graphics" are complain about how graphics mean nothing.
let me try to explain something to you people, nes games had good graphics sometimes. Graphics are just images, a game with good graphics is a game with fun or entertaining images. Not "realistic" or "high tech" but just fun to look at. Do you think Super mario would be as famous as it is today if it wasn't for the way everything in the world seemed alive in it's own fantasy universe?
Seriously people like you are the ones blindly jumping on the bandwagon. Graphics are just as important, if not more important than story because a game with great graphics, ok game play but horrible story can be great while a game with great story but horrible graphics and ok game play will usually be forgotten.
Saints row had great graphics, the world came to live with vibrant colors and comicy setting.
Seriously, i get it. You think graphics are "how real it looks" but it's not, and if you think graphics don't matter at all, go play a text based game and tell me how you enjoyed it. Seriously, that is a game with no graphics, please go tell me how much fun you had with words.

Oh, I'm sorry, I should have gone with the version of the term that no one uses. That would have made my point absolutely clear. Thank you, sir.

Also, I like text based games. Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Final Fantasy I, and II for example.

Example:
I recently had a competition with someone to see who could find the most garden gnomes in Fallout 3.
Intact were worth three points, and damaged were worth one.
I had found plenty of both, so he suddenly decided to quit the game entirely.
When I asked why, he said it was because he didn't have the time to waste on an obviously lame game.
I found this preposterous, and asked another friend if he knew why.
The friend mentioned that my competitor had complained about my mound of gnomes and sulked.
Now isn't that just childish? If nothing else, just quit the competition and continue to play the damn game.

First off, even the Wii's graphics are an upgrade from an N64 so the graphics are thus improved. Second, your friend need to slapped upside the head about a thousand times.
