Did you not realize I said my friends are gamers, and that I'm fine with them liking FPS games? My point is, it's STUPID to shoot down a game because it is not MW2. It's like an avid RPG player shooting down Magical Starsign because "it has aliens using magic" or because "it's not like Oblivion/Morrowind." I repeat, I am fine with a few of my peers preferring the FPS genre, I just do not like them shooting down any non-FPS/MW2-esque game instantly.derelix said:Here's a nutsy thought, maybe they're into FPS games and they don't realize there is a word for games like that.InnerRebellion said:Where did I say I am better educated? I merely said I do not like the genre BUT I can put up with it, until that reason is brought out as the only reason to not play the game. I can see why people like the game, and I know not everyone in the whole gaming community play and praise it, but a few of the gamers I associate with in my personal life do love the game enough to shoot down everything that is not MW2, or a similar FPS.derelix said:Wow, my apologies. I didn't realize your peers had some idiotic reason to shoot a game down, clearly your better educated for avoiding an entire genre altogether.InnerRebellion said:Oh, shall I clarify? I don't like the FPS genre, but I have no problem with it. I just get annoyed when that is the auto-response I get from a few peers of mine when I suggest a game. Don't go assuming things.derelix said:Yeah because everyone is always sucking up to MW2. Your such a rebel for being one of those few people who hate on that game.InnerRebellion said:"It lacks teh multehplayah" or
"It's not like MW2, so it is gay".
Thank you for classifying, i was scratching my head completely bewildered by your post. I was about to consult my old professor and everything until i read your post. So enlightening.
Maybe not everyone talks about games in these little subgenre terms like the rest of us do. Maybe to some group of people, games are just these silly little things they do when they're bored or lazy or something, and not something that's meant to be discussed like it's some world changing thing.
Or maybe we are really one entity experiencing life through separate sensory perceptions.
