While I don't approve of DRM like this, seriously, who has a PC capable of playing SF4, and doesn't have a constant broadband connection?

WTF Capcom? Why would you do this?! And as it has been stated pirates will find a way around it!

Just like they did with AC2. *Sigh* Way to go Capcom.

It is possible that this will totally prevent illegitimate users from accessing the locked portion of the game (a workaround for such a thing might never be made), but those people tend to not value games the same way. If they're not even going to be playing it online, they might just play the game for a bit with the characters available and then give it up.

Considering that, Capcom is driving away 1000 players just to lure in the 50 that desperately want the rest and will pony up.

It's not like i'm interested in another new Street Fighter Edition anyways. It's poor buisness practice to resell the same game without story changes and only a few characters, which in this case are only even more clones (Evil Ryu, Oni Akuma) and twins.

And then the hackers will change it so their versions work just fine, and those that pay are screwed. This is why DRM doesn't work.

Well, I called it... I knew they'd come out with another one.

"Final Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition Extreme Platinum XZ Tournament"

is currently in the works! Who's excited

I guess with CDProjekt Red and The Witcher 2 doing their stuff, we need some monkeys on the other end of the scales keeping the great balance of the universe in check.

Oh well, I was planning on getting this... guess I'll skip it now. Your loss Capcom :(

DRM type things are much like that one Greek myth about that guy. He had to push a stone up a hill, but when it reached the top, it rolled back down.

Companies put time and money into DRM and then in gets cracked in less than a week. It's a futile endevour, but apparently this next ridiculous step up will beat the pirates for good. But, as always, the rock will roll back down the hill, and your effort is wasted.

Xbox 360 is a hacked console, and in this hacked console you can play online. Now, if I can do it in the console, there is no excuse to use this argument. WE think this companies are run by very smart and wise people, but that is not true, at all. If I'm using this game on Steam, the Steam DRM, the GFWL DRM and the game DRM will be running all at once: WTH! and even if these three DRM's are working, if my connection fall I will lost my ability to save and use characters and DLC's? CDProject RED Launched both Witcher's with problems on the DRM side, so they banned the DRM of both games. I will buy this game, but I will need to hack it and lost my ability to play it online freely. I pirated a lot of games some time ago, but when you see what companies like CDProject, Valve, GoG, Humble Indie and others are doing I just could not do it anymore. I have more than 170 games in my pc and they are all legal. I respect the people who make the game, they work to craft the experience(I hate to call a good game as a simple mass product, it is more than that). We deserve better, the crafters deserve better, the brand Street Fighter deserve better, the legacy of Capcom deserve better.

That would be Sisyphus, and yes, DRM is exactly that.

Capcom making a really fucking stupid decision? Get outta here!!

OT: This is really stupid, though. It benefits no-one and pirates'll just hack it anyway! In short, stupid!

Oh, did not know it was GFWL. Well, that about does it. The DRM is terrible and it's on the platform that I refuse to ever install again. Thank you Capcom for sparing my bank account.
