I know people ragequit, but that takes the biscuit somewhat.
I'd be rather annoyed if my biscuit was taken. This story has just given people a reason to press down on gamers.

People like this give gameing a bad name.
Agreed, it is the same every time, the formula is this.

1 mentally unstable gamer + horrific incident = Gaming population's life made hell by the media

It's the similar story with things like teenage drinking, because a bunch of teenagers destined to do nothing with their lives except for draining the government's coffers is caught in a park some Saturday night doesn't mean all teenagers are lazy, drunk and good for nothing.

On the whole people need to stop taking an isolated incidents and making them benchmarks.

Funny, sad, but funny.
Yes... hilarious... Now imagine it was your sister/friend/girlfriend who was walking alone that night and that the person hit an artery instead. Not so funny now is it.

Internet hard guys are not generally welcomed here.
This man is right. It's not really that funny at all...

I think Jack Thompson just got a bit happier. I'd give it 24 to 48 hours before he is out making some statements about this.

Don't tell Jack Thompson then.

guy was a prick... being locked in a mental facility without internet and starcraft will probally just make him more insaine.

I feel bad for the girl, and I hope she can recover mentally from this incident.

Depends on who you ask. I found it to be a bit funny, when seeing the Article in the paper.

Sure, she is scared for life, but the reason for all of this will always be a little bit silly.

its sort of sad that I see horrible things like this all the t9me and think "ell gee, thats terrible." but can't really evoke any other response. Too much of humanities bad side is shown through news that I've become desensitized to it. Not that im not saying it isn't bad, its jsut that its become commonplace.

So, does Sweden not teach their people conflict resolution or stress management techniques?
Out of curiosity; does any country teach their citizens conflict resolution or stress management? It's not normal here in England, is it done elsewhere?

*sigh* Jack Thompson will be on this like wasps on sugar

I wish someone would kill a (horrible) person and say "Viva Pinata" or "Imagine: Fashion designer" made me kill

Looks like punching a pillow has been replaced with Stabbing Teenagers as a stress reliever.

OMG! GAMES MAKE KIDS CRAZY! HE LEARNED TO STAB LIKE THAT FROM CONTROLLING SMALL, GUN-WEILDING UNITS FROM 50 FEET IN THE AIR, DISPITE THAT FACT THAT THERE ARE NO KNIVES IN THE GAME!
OT: This is going to do great things for the public's perception of gamers. And we just got the buddists on our side...
That kid needs help. I get angry when I lose my connection, but I don't try to kill random strangers for it. At least the girl survived.

Wasn't he banned from making any act of law?

Ummm what, that sound to absalutely ludacris(sp, sorry about these) to be true, who in any sort of mind would actually think, oh no im disconected from the internet lets go get a knife and stab someone, i just.... i just dont believe that anyone in any state of mind would do such a thing, unless he is insaine, and when i say that i mean the increasingly large kind of insaine you would have spotted years before hand, or someone prone to increasingly large fits of rage, and generally if the fits are this bad, he shouldnt have been in public.

ehm sorry for overreacting there and jumping to conclusions, im sure there is another explination somewhere of his mental state other than the above, and well.
