So his internet connection died in the middle of a match, and he decides to go and stab a 15 year old girl, multiple times, because he couldn't finish building that last supply depot. He's obviously unstable, but we all know that it will be spun into "The video games made him do it! We found a gamer, may we burn them?" Well, time for the ignorant masses to sit in their rooms with their duct taped windows, watching Fox News demonize gamers once again.
For a species that has the capability of splitting the atom, and replicating the power of the sun, we're not a very bright species.

Funny, sad, but funny.
Yes... hilarious... Now imagine it was your sister/friend/girlfriend who was walking alone that night and that the person hit an artery instead. Not so funny now is it.

Internet hard guys are not generally welcomed here.
Objectively it would still be funny. Subjectively, of course not. Care troll just cares so much more than the rest of us. *eye rolling*

As for the article, that is a bit disturbing when you take out the shock value and nervous laughter from such a random and completely fucked up act, which doesn't take much, obviously because I still have my soul somewhere in this house.

I can't wait to see the goofy fallout from this from our nonthinking news brainmass.

Oh,how nice of them. Another thing to blame on gaming/Internet.
Interestingly enough the gaming side is entirely unrelated and unnecessary. All that was needed was that his internet went down and he was pissed off, the gaming side seems to have been thrown in (as it always is) to attract more to the article.

So which one is worst attempted murder or manslaughter? Manslaughter sounds more evil but idk.
Wikipedia said:
Murder, as defined in common law countries, is the unlawful killing of another human being with intent (or malice aforethought), and generally this state of mind distinguishes murder from other forms of unlawful homicide (such as manslaughter).

Manslaughter is a legal term for the killing of a human being, in a manner considered by law as less culpable than murder.

We should start policing and punishing our own.

I mean, it works for fictional Vampires.

I love how video games are going to get the blame for this. Never mind other factors such as latent mental illness or possibly bad upbringing, nope, pressing buttons on a controller turn people into psychopaths according to our moronic society.

The report claimed the incident, which actually took place on August 9, was one of "many unusual acts of violence" committed by teenagers this summer.
Maybe theres something in the drinking water?! D:

OT: That guy overreacted. Big time. And I hope that the girl is alright.

No idea if it's the bad translation or an actual correct classification, but they classed the crime as "attempted manslaughter". How the hell can you attempt to kill someone by accident? That doesn't even make sense!

Otherwise, it is pretty bad, but I'm glad that for once a newspaper seems to realise that it wasn't down to games that caused the guy to go mental. They make reference to the fact he was already a psycho, apparently, and also only mention Starcraft in context, i.e. that he was simply playing it and the internet went down and that's why he went out with the knife. If Fox had got hold of this story they'd be saying "STARCRAFT MAKES YOU KILL" and all sorts of crazy shit. Fortunately The Metro journalists seem to be fairly sane and unbiased in that regard.

Well, people stab people when they have no money to buy booze. People stab others when their girlfriend dump them. So it wont probably be blamed on a game.
I feel sorry for the girl. I would like to kill that guy with my bare hands for doing something like that.
I don't go killing when my internet brakes down!

If I was that girl's dad or older brother, I'd wait 5 years, then catch that ************ and get medieval on the prick. Seriously, we're talking a blow torch and a red-hot poker in unpleasant places.

Attemped Manslaughter?

I said that once, as a joke. No such thing.

Attempting to accidently murder someone?
