Shhh; don't give them ideas. Although that would make a more "natural" FPS than fvcken Syndicate.EverythingIncredible said:What's next? Crusader: No Remorse remade as an FPS?
You see, that would make too much sense being a natural fit and all. I personally envisaged a new Syndicate being like that and not a run and gun, non squad based FPS. Looks like they're just retrofitting a Riddick game.octafish said:I could have handled it if it had been like (the proper) Ghost Recon or (the proper) Rainbow Six games. You know, you have a squad of expendables, death is permanent and you can just re-hire. You issue tactical commands on the fly (I think the Ghost Recon approach is more palatable and importantly more flexible than the Rainbow Six approach) and you can assume control of any of the characters in your squad at any time. The quad can be broken up into individual fire teams over large open maps. Most importantly, there is no individual protagonist, so if you get wiped out on a mission there is
You do know that Syndicate Wars was on Playstation right?GrizzlerBorno said:I perfectly understand people being upset about this one because of the genre change.... but the majority of escapists here are console gamers. Why don't you guys understand that Consoles WON'T have over-the-top squad based strategy games. It's just NOT going to happen. Just get the fuck over it.
Alternatively if this was a PC exclusive: (which no big developer will make nowaydays anyway) A)it would undersell like dogshit. B)The majority of people here will whine about not being able to play it! It's a lose-lose situation.
Hence it's either THIS Syndicate or NO Syndicate. Choose.
They don't care about the truth anymore. They just want their newly sanctioned twitch-shooter, like they've been conditioned to. Anything that came out before they had a console is just worthless nostalgia, and always will be.SL33TBL1ND said:You do know that Syndicate Wars was on Playstation right?

If this had been any good, they wouldn't have started from a stolen name.
Next year: Monty on the Run: The FPS.
Definitely no Syndicate, thankyou very much!GrizzlerBorno said:I perfectly understand people being upset about this one because of the genre change.... but the majority of escapists here are console gamers. You forgot Ultima the FPS. >.<Kyrian007 said:As long as they are at it, I'm sure they're in the mood for:
Masters of Orion the FPS
Populous the FPS
Total Annihilation the FPS
First Person Dragon's Lair Re-Boot
As long as they are brown enough.
For the best, they wouldn't make a sequel, they'll reboot it and make it cover based, iron sighted regenerating health fps with another gimmick tacked on, probably a SHODAN dating sim.RhombusHatesYou said:All this and there's still no fucking SYSTEM SHOCK 3.
That's probably for the best, really. *sigh*
