Little bit disappointed here... of all the shows that could play the "goofy comedy-drama" superhero angle, they pick Wonder Woman?

When has WW ever been funny? Goofy, yes, but in a completely ironic way. I think there's a chance this is going to read as "Making light of (or making fun of) the one recognizable female superhero." I mean, did they need to actually use WW for this? They couldn't do an "original" knock-off, or something?

To be quite honest, it's surprisingly less revealing than I expected. In the original comic she had a knee-length skirt and low cut top. I expected her to be running around in a thong or something (red and blue with stars, naturally). Or at LEAST some hot-pants. Tight pants I can live with and potentially respect her as a character for. Plus, I mean come on, tight pants... How can I possibly care about the story when I watch this now?!

Odd costume or not, at least they found a female that looks the part :)

I actually think the costume rocks, and keep in mind they generally look a bit more toned down when on screen.

I know I'll tune in for this show.
They found a skinny blonde woman to play a dark haired warrior woman?
:p
She looks the part, thats all that matters. I don't care what her "hair color" is naturally.

It might be too early for the author to judge, but not me. This is going to be a hoaky shit parade. The shot from the animated series looked less cartoonie than the real actress does. I can already hear the generic one liners and see the 1 dimension plots never being folded to begin with. Boo television. At least its not another 'reality' or 'dancing with' type atrocity.

She doesn't wear spandex in the comics. Her outfit looks metallic not plastic. Spandex is just tacky and they should have found a way to make it look metal. Guess it's still hard to fool the specular highlights of reality.

I'm called a raging hound by most of my friends, I watch porn on occasion and I'm definitely a fan of the female form...

But I just can't like this. It's tackier than Liberace's underwear drawer.

I guess it's my respect for Diana (Wonder Woman) as a symbol of equality between men and women (though I'm well aware of her creator's intentions...

I've always liked her- she's there for every girl who needed a big sister, every woman who needed to believe that she could become the best she could be.

She kicks ass and takes names, and isn't the man hating butch dyke of the male mind.
She's a warrior woman, a leader and a, er, statesperson?
Eh... You know what I'm getting at.

I'm sure the show is going the whacky route, but I can't stop cringing.... and kinda feeling an opportunity was lost.

Speaking of "Girl Power", who else wants to see a Live Action Power Girl? EPIC BOOBS ARE EPIC.

Captcha: Considered tudelo
Here is my nomination for Power Girl:

Oh god yes. Christina Hendricks as Power Girl?! FUND IT!
Apologies for the double post.... but until I figure how to edit my post to incorporate another quote...

If I had the money, and the power... I swear to you... I would have it made with Christina Hendricks.
Actually having someone who can actually act AND look hot would be perfect.

Could have sworn I saw a costume like this for sale under the "sexy" section of halloween costumes in a flier last october. I would indeed need context for it as I can't see this working in anything other than a purely campy setting.

To it's credit, it is pretty damn faithful to golden age design... on the other hand, the show is probably just gonna be another Smallville. Ugh.
Ah well, i might give it a shot. Themyscirans unite!

She was in Supernatural (albeit briefly).

Now I'm a little bit interested, though not much. It is still only Wonder Woman.
Was she? I dont recollect her, altough I havent seen the whole of the final 2 series.
She was Sam's girlfriend Jessica.

She dies in the first episode in similar fashion to their mother. After that, she makes sporadic appearances in flashbacks.

I love Supernatural. Probably my favorite show on TV right now.
True, I love the banter, Bobby and Kass are definatly my favs. I really didnt expect Supernatural to be as funny as it is. The ending was preaty good to, although I havnt seen all of it and for a series that got dragged out abit by the fans thats quite impressive.

Now if we could please have a moment for Ash... hes partying with angels now.
I love Cas, especially in season five. The episode where Dean is sent into the future to see Sam said yes? Absolutely brilliant characterization for Cas. I loved it.

But my favorite character will forever be the Trickster. And he will forever be the Trickster to me.

Not for nothing, but I've seen better, more plausible, Wonder Woman costumes at cons. This just seems wrong on all fronts. Wrong actress, wrong costume, wrong media form (still miffed it didn't get a live-action movie), wrong direction to take the character in... Unless "a 'slightly goofy' comedy-drama ..." means it plays like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I don't see this lasting more than 2 seasons at best.

DC's undying loyalty to their big 3 is honorable, but in my opinion its leading to their other characters being buried.

The Flash would make for a better show. A quick witted, hardly useful young flash would be funny, heart warming, and a perfect medium to showcase other characters as well. Plus the Flash just doesn't get enough airtime.

Like, I love Diana. Wonder Woman has had some decent moments in the Justice League cartoons, and I'm sure some good runs in the comics(though from what I can tell, thats debatable). But she is an outdated female role model if there ever was one and a sure sign that while comics are universal, they definitely aren't timeless.

To quote the great Robert Downey Jr.: "Bigger tits". Seriously, did anybody else even see the original show? Lynda Carter's bra would have laughed Adrianne Palacki's spandex right out of the sound stage. I know Hollywood hates them now, but there have to be SOME working actresses who have non-plastic breasts of the appropriate size to play the ol' WW.

AAAAAAAAaaaaah I forgot the Trickster, he was cool and funny, brilliant character and actor who ever he was, I forget but still his story was sad times.

I loved his first ep when he just waltz onto the scene at the end eating his chocy like "I own, nom nom nom" not to mention Sam and Deans squabble in the motel, the freeze frame when they fight for the money is hilarious.
