It's things like this that makes me proud of my totally irrational and baseless insistence with keeping the oldest model possible as long as it will function. I never had an iPad, but I was so so sad when I lost my phone from the 1990s...
One reason I don't plan to ever step up to a smartphone. I have to laugh when the newest wave of malware crops up for Droids. Even iPhones have their own issues. (Seriously, be careful what you do with apps on your phone.)

Make sure your sionfor is preserved, kids. You never know when you will need it.
Beat this:

And no, no photoshop, just microsoft snipping tool. I think the catchpa people deliberately put hilarious things like this. That's also not 2 words, thats about 6 - if we're generous, if it was a phrase, maybe 4 words.

Well I can't really blame him for the kind of background I'm assuming he comes from.

He should have waited 6 months for the iPad 3.
If it was part of his liver, he could have grown it back!

EDIT: I could jump on the band wagon and slam apple fans, but, I could just as easily bash any fan of any product. But, since this moron, there's no other way around it, he's an idiot, got his kidney removed as a minor, means his parents had to sign off on it or he forged paperwork,to get cash for a product... to that I say, WTF?
Yes, he's an idiot, but I wouldn't exactly go and throw it around if I were you.

You honestly think that his parents (Or the guy himself) would fill out paperwork to have his kidney removed? Paperwork? Illegal organ removal network? Seriously?

Well, hopefully the kidney will go to a much more intelligent individual.
Not necessarily, but definitely some rich man with what passes for a lack of morals.

Well, China has a huge population. Like, one fifth of the global population?
So China has the biggest chance to have such a person born.
But yeah, that kid...i feel sorry for him. Not a smart choice.

That's not really it though is it? A life was nearly (and possibly still could be) lost by this. Either way, the kid may well end up suffering for the rest of his life. And the person who will end up with his kidney? Probably has had to pay tens of thousands for it. The only people who come out of this better off are the scum that thought it was OK to take a kidney from a clearly very impression 17 year old kid.

Was it? It is illegal to sell or buy human organs, something that even China agrees on as evidenced in this article. This kid is facing health issues due to crappy operating procedures. How good conditions is the recipient going to be under? Kidneys are of the most finicky organs of the body, requiring a very strong match to not be rejected. Do you think these people are going to bother to wait for a recipient with a high likelihood of a match and non-rejection? No. They are in this for the money, plain and simple.
Most likely the recipient is going to die anyway because their body will reject the kidney and/or the crappy operating procedures followed. I don't envy the pain that person will go through.
The odds are strongly against someone actually surviving because of this. Black market organ dealers don't have a care who gets saved.
To sacrifice your own wellbeing simply for money is ridiculous. The kid was not motivated by charity. No, he was just greedy, and the life saved is probably some old coot's who everybody wants dead and is stubbornly refusing to expire.

I wonder what he,s going to sell for the iPad 3
also $3.000 is bit low for a kidney he could have easily asked $5.000 for it

Wow. Just wow. How badly could anyone want it? It's a freaking iPad! It's not some sort of vital organ that you can't live without, it's a piece of technology! Jeez, todays youth.

usually the people that go to China for transplant surgeries do it as a last option they are usually low on the transplant list and running out of time unless they get it done in China they will die.
It,s not a lack of morals but a act of desperation.

Also, this story has quickly become an outlet for judgement in China, particularly by members of the previous generation. Basically, folks are claiming that Zheng's bad decision-making is "an extreme example of the rampant materialism of modern China."

Personally, I just feel sorry for the kid. He's down one kidney and possibly facing permanent health problems because he felt he needed a piece of technology that will likely be outdated in a year.
Isn't the fact the "he felt he needed a piece of technology" precisely "an extreme example of the rampant materialism of modern China"? I mean, what else is it if not that? Your construction implies that you disagree or at least have some reservations about what "folks are claiming" (you don't tell us who and I'll be damned before opening the Telegraph's website), could you explicate what these are, and how you justify them?

That's why he didn't sell both kidneys, he's saving up for the iPad3.

I feel sick about this.
I really do.
"Oh no! I can't afford the iPad 2! The only logical solution therefore is to sell my kidney!"
What was going through his mind?

Not necessarily. "Transplant Tourism" is hardly a charity.

I would say I can't believe this, but every day people are apparently giving blood and getting paid for it... I live in the UK, the practice is alien to me, I give blood because... I can. Also I was interested to find out my blood type, but too lazy to go looking... >___<

Which shows that even in our cushy, sheltered lives, Darwin is still doing his best to weed out the least intelligent.

I feel exactly the same. Seventeen year old + ipad2 = for what??!!
It's such a temporary object. I honestly wanna punch this kid in the face!
His selfish actions are only justifiable if he sold his kidney knowing that he'd be saving someone elses life, and the money for an ipad2 was a secondary bonus. Could have at least spent the money better imho.
My God, I really hope his kidney is used to save a life - Even if it was taken illegally.
